San Diego Shops that will do inflatable SUP Repair?

Posted in local subs, too but it's crickets in a fiberglass and foam surf board town 😅

Curious if anyone knows where I can get an inflatable SUP board fixed in San Diego? It's a (probably) super simple fix to replace/reglue the handle and deck pad but I usually end up making a bigger mess when I DIY. Googling and calling around, I'm just finding shops that handle fiberglass.

Any help is much appreciated!

Beach Construction Returns

I was grateful for the open road all summer after the congestion with traffic, bikes and pedestrians all cohabitating with the closed lane during construction last winter.

Inhale, exhale. Here we go. The VMS boards are back up on the PCH. The city website says the project starta back up after Labor Day. See you guys and the new Cherry Ave stairs on the other side! 😅

What are some of you doing with these vanity license plates?

Like for real. I'm over here trying to sound out all these consonants trying to decode some witty pun about this Tesla and it put me in a terrible mood.

Why not just accept the signs from the universe that it was not meant to be and substituting 8s for Bs and adding extra T's because the version with the correct number of T' was already taken means move on and come up with something else.

For F's sake. I'm going to go put myself in time out and get stuck in the In and Out line just to cool down a bit before so I can be a chill person again after this nonesense.

Magnificent Frigatebird!

I am so bummed that I was not able to get a photo. It was gliding pretty high up here. I've never seen this bird before and had to look it up (dark wings, white head, forked tail). Absolutely gorgeous!

Was this a rare sighting? Also...how is it pronounced? Free-gate-bird?

edit for better clarity

Camera at Carlsbad Blvd & Pine Ave

A big ol' surveillance camera was recently installed at the intersection facing into the green space. Were there really too many shenanigans happening in triangle park??

Games you obsessively played growing up but haven't touched in decades?

These were some that I dedicated long hours into the night playing. It's wild looking at screenshots on an image search, it's a total time machine....my shoulders suddenly feel achy and my eyes dry from the hunching dedicated stare into the screen hahaha.

What game could you not put down but haven't played (or maybe even thought about) the last 15-20 years?

Humming Bird Feeders that Don't Rust?

I'm on the coast in SoCal and I have tried to use only glass feeders. Eventually, the metal parts (even the rivets in the flower holes) get rusty with the salty air. Ugh, it's the last thing I want in the nectar. Anyone living near a coast have recommendations for a feeder that doesn't rust?

Radical Honesty & Insecurities

This is one of the hardest parts of self work. It took me forever to finally come alongside my insecurities.

At firist, it looked like I admitting to myself, "yeah, I guess I have some fear around being rejected" but then I would follow up with something that sounded like "but if they say no to me, that's their loss."

While swathing over this fear with that "but" deflection works to save my ego from a little pain, it absolutely robs my the most precious part of myself from being loved on. When I am radically honest, this insecurity sounds like this:

Yes, I am afraid that they will say no because that would hurt like hell.

I have been conditioned to believe that if I admit rejection hurts then I am weak. But rebelling against this conditioning with this ferocious level of courage and admit that I can and do get hurt creates a profoundly resilient sense of self.

Dog people, I legit need your help & suggestions for dog interactions on the sidewalks and trails of our lovely little beach town

I walk the beach and Village daily. I am not reqlly a dog person. I'm not anti-dog, I simply recognize that feeding/training/caring for a dog is more responsibility than I am interested in investing in. And adding context that I have also been bitten by an unsupervised off leash dog.

In the past 2 months I have had these interactions:

  • A woman walking a standfordshire/pitty-looking-mix clamped onto my beachbag and pulled it off my shoulder to the ground as I passed (no food in the bag). The woman could barely hold the dog back as it barked at my "WTF" reaction
  • A dude not paying attention and his chocolate lab jumped up on me and put it's paws on my chest
  • Two women with a golden retriever walking towards me, blocking the path with their dog. I stopped in my tracks because there was nowhere further for me to walk except into the bushes. As the woman holding the leash tried to guide the dog over to her side of the path, it bared its teeth, barked and lunged at me
  • I was sitting at the lagoon and 2 off leash dogs came right up into my space at face-level. I regularly see the woman walking them wgule she is on her phone and the off-leash dogs approach other on-leash dogs. I asked her to bring her dogs closer to her, she first pretended like she couldn't hear me then after I repeated myself did nothing but replied "they are friendly"

I just want to enjoy a walk without having to manage someone else's dog. I don't care if they are friendly, I not walking to meet dogs, and that's totally cool. And it's totally cool that others are out walking their dogs. Most dog walkers are kind and considerate, and I have mad respect to you all for being able to navigate public spaces with the disconnected/negligent dog owners with your own self PLUS your animals.

I am obviously no dog whisper and the dogs are probably picking up my "I do not trust this dog or dog owner" vibe so maybe I am attracting back dog/owner behavior, too.

So like the title says... help! I just want to enjoy a nice little walk...is there something I can do to better communicate to dogs and owners to keep dogs/dog-mouths/dog-paws/owner-backtalk away from me? I just want to cohabitate in peace, yo!

It's been a hot minute since I have headed over to the farmer's market. I showed up to ready to get my samosa on and found out the vendor isn't there this year. I totally forgot the name on the booth...do anyone know if they are at another market?

Love is the the most powerful frequency to stay in and to radiate in order to attract what we want.

I catch myself being reluctant to be fully honest in declaring what I want out of fear that I will default to being in my head, trying to intellectualize the manifestation and even become superstitious around it. I recognize this is rooted in some worthiness baggage, but I always work to reset to keep the channel pristine.

Does this resonate with anyone?
