Leaving for a month, question about settings

We’re headed out of town for the rest of the month of July to visit family down south. We live in the northeast US. Typically, we do these trips in the spring or fall and keep our heat pumps off while we’re away.
We have a Fujitsu Airstage system with one large unit in our downstairs and 3 small units for each of our upstairs bedrooms.
Downstairs is about 900 ft2 and upstairs is about 550 ft2.

We do live in a multifamily with extended family in a couple of the other units, so they could manually adjust things on the fly.

Thanks for any advice

2018 Rear Entertainment Question

Hello all,

Yesterday we purchased our first Sienna, a 2018 XLE. This particular model has the entertainment screens on the backs of the front driver and passenger headrests.
The DVDs go into the slot on the very top of the headrest. However, when trying to test these out we got the a “Bad Disc” error. We’re also fairly sure that the one on the passenger headrest may have a disc stuck in it.
Does anyone else have this model/trim and have had/resolved these issues?
Otherwise, from a performance perspective, the car is fantastic.
Thanks ahead for any feedback

Input on Odyssey, Sienna and Carnival

When my wife and I found out that we were having our 3rd child, we went ahead and bought the 3 row Subaru Ascent. Now that the new addition is here, with the 3rd row up, man oh man that "trunk" is tight.

We're looking into finally joining the ranks of minivan fams. Buying new is not an option due to budget. So we are looking at pre-owned. So far, we've accepted that we probably won't be in the market for one of the 2021+ Sienna's with the hybrid engine, as much as we'd love that. So, the current choice we're faced with is an older (2018 +) Sienna, 2021-2023 Odyssey or 2022 + Carnival.

Thanks for any and all input, observations, and advice.

Solar Shed Recs

Hi all, we finally received our 8x10 shed. Live in Maine where we passed plug in solar, which goes into effect in about a month and I’m looking forward to taking advantage of it.
I’ll have 1200 W of panels ( 2 x 200 W and 2 x 400 W). The shed faces South, so I understand that’s optimal.
Looking for recommendations on micro inverters, mounting hardware and any pros/cons people have had with different products.
EXTRA CREDIT: is it possible to simultaneously have our solar power run inside the shed to my Pecron F3000LFP to power a light, charge power tools, etc., while also sending electricity to the house for the plug in solar?
Thank you all in advance.

Advice on allocating emergency fund, Euro trip money and holiday fund.

Hi all, like the title indicates, we’re looking for advice on how to allocate money for our emergency fund, a year long Euro trip we’re planning to take with our kids in 2030 and a holiday gift fund that we will tap into at the holidays.

Our emergency fund is currently in SNSXX, happy to listen to advice if this should be invested elsewhere for better returns. But in the interest of separation of funds, would like advice for the trip and holiday funds as well.

Very appreciated in advance

Advice for family planning to live abroad for 1 year

Hello everyone,

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but wanted to take a stab at it.

My wife and I have 3 kids (currently 6, 4 and 7mo)
We have set a goal to spend a year living in Western Europe in 2030 and are seeking some points of advice from folks who have spent extended periods in this region with children.

We are comfortable home schooling while there and I have the opportunity to do remote contract work while there.

We’ve ID’d Sweden, Italy, Spain and UK as places we would like to spend 3mo/each. We chose these because we either have family there or have travelled there substantially.

Wondering if people can speak to their own experiences, recommendations on budget considerations and any positive or negative places that they’ve lived. Any other information that you’d consider to be important is also welcome.

Thank you in advance. And if this belongs in a different sub, I’m happy to move it.
Cheers.

Pay off zero percent interest card?

Hi all, I’ve really enjoyed and appreciated what I’ve gained from this sub.
Here’s our question: we have a credit card that was used for a balance transfer at 0% interest until late next year. I’ve set up the payments to be completed by the end of the 0% interest period.
The balance is approx $6500. We have $10,000 in our emergency fund. Would Ramsey recommend paying off the balance despite the 0% interest?
Thanks for any advice and blessings

Clint Bowyer #14 Toco Ford Mustang

I am not a collector. This was given to me by my brother and before I let my little boys little fingers and imaginations get the best of it, I wanted to see if this is an item people collect?
Not looking for any specific dollar amount or anything like that, but just general feedback.
Thanks for any info.

Recs for small (200W x 2) ground mount against fence

Hi all, we have a nice, unobstructed, south facing area that I’d like to put up our small (200W x 2) panels.
We have an established fence that I would like to utilize and I’m fine DIY’ing.
We were approved for patio/back deck solar this past winter here in our state, so this would be in preparation for that going live.
Thank you for any helpful recommendations.

Epic EHR Shortcomings?

Hello everyone, I’m looking for input on any shortcomings that people feel Epic’s EHR may have.
This is not meant to be a “crap on Epic” sounding board, but I’m looking more for input on certain workflows or functionality that you feel Epic has overlooked or perhaps may feel is not worth the time to improve.
Again, this isn’t necessarily for people’s opinion of best EHR or anything of the like.
Thanks for any feedback.

My iMessages on wife’s devices

About 3 weeks ago I was headed to a conference and decided to take my wife’s iPad. I logged her out and logged in my account.
When I returned, I logged myself out and her back in.
What’s strange is that there seemed to be some crossover of our iMessages. So now she sees iMessages from when I was on that trip, but also my list of favorites.
Any ideas on how to remedy this?

BCBS: How can both of these be true?

How is it possible that my claim is valid and that I paid $0 in premiums when I was covered by BCBS?
Anyone else experience this?
Thanks for any advice.

Input on my Trad IRA & 403b

Hi all, I’m 48M and really didn’t start saving for retirement until my 30’s. The IRA is managed by a financial advisor, I chose the allocation for the 403b. The 403b is the Vanguard target funds. I’m a nurse and doing my best to become more knowledgeable about investing.
Appreciate any feedback.

I have our emergency fund ($9,500) invested in SWVXX. However, I want to get the best possible dividends I can get and there are so many opinions that I wanted to pose this question directly.
We are both in the healthcare field and not worried that we will find ourselves out of jobs and in need of accessing that money urgently.
Thank you all for any direction.
