Just another "lost my soul cat" post at the age of roughly 16
This post will read like so many others I see on this sub. Austin was my best friend. He was the greatest companion I could've ever asked for. He was with me for my entire adult life. Made things better in the darkest of times. Squamous Cell Carcinoma brought his long life to an end within four weeks of diagnosis. If he were younger and didn't have a wide array of other health problems, I'd have drained my savings and taken out loans to fight this. But it was pretty clear that wasn't an option.

I just want the world to know he existed. He was truly one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. The sweetest, most affectionate, spoiled little kitty I've ever known. My home no longer feels like home. It feels like I've moved into a new apartment in a new city and I don't know anyone. It's going to hurt for a long time. Austin is now in the astral realm stuffing his face with Fancy Feast.
Lost part of my childhood Pokémon card collection
Met a girl at a class a few months ago. Things were goign well. She seemed normal and decent, and I honestly thought I had finally met someone who shared my hobbies and wasn't completely insane.

Fast forward a couple months and she keeps insisting I "loosen up" and have drinks with her one night. We drank together before but this one night she was especially insistent. She damn well knows I'mon a med that cannot be combined with alcohol because it makes me extremely drowsy . She keeps pushing, saying it'll be fine, and eventually I have way too much. Yes I know, I should have put my foot down. Next thing I know I'm barely awake on the couch while she's in my office "looking at my collectibles."

I wake up to the sound of swearing and discover she somehow managed to spill an ENTIRE BOTTLE OF WINE onto my ultra-rare Pokémon card collection. Not commons. Not energy cards. Not trainer cards. We're talking cards I've spent YEARS collecting and protecting. First edition Charizard. Ancient Mew (the real thing, not the promo from the movie). Shit I have had and cherished since I was a very little kid.

I woke up, flipped out. No apology. She ran out of my apartment, totally ghosted me, and I never heard from her again.

Pain and sleep management for a 16YO cat diagnosed with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Hi all,

Firstly, he is currently being seen by two vets. We are waiting for calls/appointments so posting here is simply to gain more perspectives.

He was diagnosed about a month and a half ago and the tumor has grown so fast. It's in his bottom left jaw and at the time of the xray and biopsy we could see it had already started infiltrating his jaw bone.

We understand this is a terminal diagnosis. If he were a younger healthier cat (he has MANY comorbidities), we'd explore surgery and radiation, though we learned that this cancer is almost always a death sentence as the regrowth probability is extremely high. But none of that was an option due to his age, bad heart, hyperthyroidism and arthritis. Even if he somehow survived the surgery against all odds, I won't put him through the hellish recovery process.

We've had him on gabapentin ever since diagnosis. A little over a week ago it became impossible to get the pills into him (we tried everything you can think of). We didn't want to leave him in pain so we took him to our vet and they gave him Zorbium. Zorbium totally messed him up for seven days straight. He wouldn't eat, sleep, use the litter box, or drink. He didn't start bouncing back until day eight (we were told this wasn't supposed to last beyond four days).

As it currently stands, he won't eat solid food. He is drinking water. He's living off churu. Yesterday once we were confident the Zorbium was out of his system we put him back on the gabapentin (it was a miracle he actually took the pill). An hour or two later he was EXTREMELY wobbly and still seemed to be in pain. We're not sure if this is because we gave him gabapentin on an empty stomach after him not having any for a week.

Ever since the zorbium, he hasn't slept for more than a few minutes at a time. The poor dude has to be absolutely exhausted but he can't seem to fall or stay asleep. We're thinking that might have also contributed to his wobbly behavior (sleep deprivation + no food + gabapentin back in his system after not having it for a week). Also, ever since taking the zorbium, he's been breathing much harder than usual. Not panting and he doesn't seem to be struggling to breath, but the breaths he's taken are noticeably heavy.

My questions are: is there anything we can do or give him to help him sleep? And are there any other options for pain management? We know his time is close but we want to be sure we can't keep him comfortable and out of pain before giving him the final gift.

Here's a breakdown of what he's been given for pain and ailments since diagnosis: gabapentin 50mg every 8 hours (made him woozy in the beginning but not THIS woozy), loxicom (was on it for about 5 days but the nausea was too much so we stopped), zorbium (horrible reaction), he had a steroid injection about a week ago (don't know the name), and a topical appetite stimulant Mirataz) applied daily.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on how to keep him out of pain, eating, and sleeping, it would be tremendously appreciated. More than anything this cat needs some solid uninterrupted sleep.

Difficulty getting my cat to take his meds
I'm sure this has been posted here before, probably many times. My senior cat was diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma and we're keeping him on gabapentin every eight hours. He wouldn't touch it until we discovered wrapping the pills in prosciutto. That worked for a week and now we won't touch it. I don't want to keep using the pill popper to forcibly shoot pills down his throat, he hates it and it seems to traumatize him.
We've tried temptations, churu, fish, prosciutto, cheese (many varieties), and cream cheese. Nothing worked besides the prosciutto which has now lost its allure.
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.
Weird one for you folks: anyone else get dream flashbacks while drumming?
I know it sounds strange but it happens to me all the time. I don't dream all the time, only occasionally. I drum every night and whenever I do, within a few minutes, I start getting flashbacks of the previous night's dreams. It's usually not a full, clear recollection of what I dreamt but feelings and pieces will hit me when I'm jamming. My best guess as to why this happens is that drumming maybe uses the same part of the brain involved in dreaming? I have no idea. Anyone else experience this?
Can someone tell me which final four caves I'm missing?
Tried looking up cave maps but they're so saturated I had a hard time cross-referencing them. If someone is able to help me I'd be extremely appreciative. Pics attached.
Project Crimini
Company was supposed to "fully integrate" with Amazon by the end of the year. We're half a year in and nothing major yet. Anyone know what the actual timeline looks like?
All of SW 35th Place closed off by cops
From one end to the other - Circle K all the way down to the roundabout. Anyone know what happened?
How is it possible that more car accidents don't happen at this one juncture?
Every single day I see people go up this street and turn left before entering the Kohls parking lot. And almost every single person (1) fails to use their turn signal and (2) makes the turn directly into the left lane (oncoming traffic) before straightening out into the correct (right) lane. Yet I never see any accidents. Seems like a miracle.
152nd Shrine - Please Help!
Can anyone tell me where my final shrine is hiding? Or rather, give me a hint?
Think I've awakened - is this legitimate?
Brothers and sisters of The Light,
I have been having some tremendous experiences and it feels like my Third Eye is finally beginning to open. Have any of you experienced any of these things? Would really appreciate some genuine responses.
-When I close my eyes for more than about twenty seconds, I see shapes. Circles, rectangles, ovals and squares... every single time I see tons of these.
-Most food I eat now tastes only like dragonfruit. I have no explanation for this. But with few exceptions (mainly turkey and eggs), literally everything I consume tastes like dragonfruit.
-Crying and orgasming simultaneously. It's like ever since I awakened, I cannot do one without the other. This part is scary.
Has anyone out there had any of these experiences?
Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
My 16-year-old boy kitty likely has this. Biopsy results won't come back for another week but vet is pretty convinced this is the diagnosis. Mass is pretty large but only symptoms so far are mouth discomfort. He's on gabapentin for the pain.
I know this is likely a death sentence. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has dealt with this and what the experience was like. How quickly symptoms worsened, etc. Hoping there may be a treatment success story somewhere out there but I know chances are slim.
Anyone want to share their experience?
