Enclosure Above Doors

So about a year and a half ago we had a school spec that above each door (or closest hidden ceiling space to it) they wanted an 8x8x4 enclosure and a DIN rail with 16 connection phoenix contact feed through terminal blocks. Since then we've been specing and installing a 24 connection version on damn near every job. Covers everything in the composite cable, plus extras like IDS, prop alarms, etc.

Most of our installs are new construction so we can get Div 26 to connect any stub outs for door hardware right to the box. As many splice cans as I've installed I can't believe I never thought to just put "patch panel" so to speak on the field end lol.

Anyone else been in a habit of doing the same?

So Close Yet So Far Away

14 hours away lol. And I almost certainly could have planned better to avoid this, but that's part of the fun!

Day 1 Hagnk's Pulls?

Curious what y'alls D1 storage pulls are. Planning on ASC my characters this week. Just playing softcore for fun not trying to speed run or anything. This is what I'm thinking for D1 pulls.

  • Agua de Vida
  • Baked veggie ricotta casseroles
  • Belt of Howling Anger
  • Boots of Twilight Whispers
  • Can of Drooling Monk
  • Cloak of Dire Shadows
  • Clock
  • Clockwork Maid
  • Cyburger
  • Elf Guard Fuel Tank
  • Essential tofu
  • Fudge spork
  • Gauntlets of the Blood Moon
  • Greaves of the Murk Lord
  • Helm of the Scream Emperor
  • Meadeorite
  • Milk of magnesium
  • Mini kiwi aioli
  • Shield of Icy Fate
  • Sword of Dark Omens

I figure the outfit is wearable from the start and gives 3 adventures + 4 adventures from the fuel tank. Also Considering dropping sections of the outfit for like 2 of the acc slots and the cloak in order to get more booze & food.

What Are Y'all Spending Your Chroner On?

Just wondering what y'all are spending your Chroner on? Personally I'm trying to buy each piece of equipment and pet available. Spent a bunch last night since I figure I will have to spend it all on the 30th as IDK if the tower will disappear on real date July 31st or Aug 1st.

Electric Lockset and Transfer Hinge Recommendations?

Tech didn't think to get measurements. Looking for a fail secure lockset with free egress on the other side. They want to keep the key function incase power loss.

I figure standard 4x4 square hinge unless it looks like something special to yall.

The Time-Twitching Tower and Other Events - Player Focus

So as a player of about 4 months this is my first time seeing the tower. From what I can find online It should last about a week. I've seen other "active" events like the Easter Egg Basket one very recently and the Trick-or-Treating one a month or two back.

During these events should you just focus every adventure onto them? For the handful of days should I just hit the tower areas nonstop? On easter basket day should I have prioritized gathering eggs, and on Trick-or-Treat event just focused on knocking on doors?

I apologize if this is just a really dumb newbie question.

Movie Critics Are Out Of Touch With Audiences

Constantly you'll see a movie get awful critic ratings while audience ratings are high, and vice versa. They get to deep into the nuances and cinematic elements of a film and forget that the average person is just looking for a movie they enjoy and had fun watching.

Help Changing A Script?

So I've been using KoL Mafia at what is probably a very low level. Using it to maximize things like item drops/meat drops/etc. and automate collecting bounty items. I feel like last night I actively used my first installed script.

After finding this thread regarding mining at That 70's Volcano I used this script and was able to successfully automate the mining process to a degree. It was awesome! I was wondering if anyone would help explain to me how I can modify it though.

Using it with my PM last night I would run it for 15 adventures, then manually go to my spells page and cast "Cannelloni Cocoon". Rinse and repeat like 17 times.

What I'd like to learn is be able to modify it so that the script runs for 15 adventures, then my character casts "Cannelloni Cocoon" and it runs another 15 adventures, cast, etc for a total of 45 adventures from running the script once. I figure it's a mainly copy and pasting to add to the script plus writing a line for the skill usage, but I don't truly know. The last time I did any coding HTML in a web mastering class in 2003.

I'm hoping to learn enough to be able to change the adventures at a time and skill use to work for my DB and also use items instead of a skill for use with my TT.

I would sincerly appreciate any help that can be provided so I can understand how to do this. Heck I'd also be interested to hear what y'all consider "Must Use" Mafia scripts.

Constantly Baffled By How Much I Don't Know

So I got 3 Ascensions total under my belt and play 4 characters each day after starting to play in March. It's a fun way to burn 2 hours of time a day WFM. All my characters are ready to ascend later this week when the last 2 get bounty hunting outfits complete. That said I am still baffled by what I don't know.

I'm at the point where I bring in 19-20 adventures from Psychotic Train Wine night caps, get an extra 18-21 from equips and generally roll into each day with 77+ adventures and end up using 250-260 per day from food, booze, spleen, etc.

Even at this point i'm just discovering the international airport and those regions ands whats available there. Within the past week I just learned about the GameInfomr mags getting the final boss outfit so I can buff my adv's per day higher.

It's crazy just how in depth this game is and how much there is to learn. Like I see people talking about Crimbo, and Garbo, and Clan Basement's and I haven't even messed with any of that. Thought about checking out basement but my clan has rules up I'm afraid of running afoul of.

Bite the Bullet and Build Over Next 6 Months, or Wait It Out?

Been wanting to refresh a rig I built in 2017-2018 that's been sitting in a closet since I bought a AW M17 in 2020 that I use currently. The prices are just hard to stomach, but I thought the same thing when my I bought the GPU for that old build in 2018 and it was like $650.

I figure I can buy the bundle with the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, Corsair Vengeance 32Gb DDR5-6000, and Asus B850-E TUF Gaming mobo now. In 6 months or so I can buy the RX 9070XT to try and spread out the cost. I figure I'll use the Corsair C70 case I have from my last build along with the PSU and the Storage. Should be a 750W Silver rated PSU, 1TB between 2x500GB Samsung EVO 850 and 750 SATA SSD's and another 1TB HDD. Figure that alone saves me a few hundred bucks. What would you do?

Pergolas are Dumb and Built Too Often

Sure pergolas look nice but way too many people build them in their back yard to not use the correctly. I'd say more than 90% of the time that people build one in their back yard, they don't make sense. Pergolas are meant to create shaded areas and walkways by supporting climbing vine plants or crops like grapes and figs. Most people who put them in a back yard don't have any sort of vine that eventually climbs it and provides the shade it's supposed to. Instead they end up being outdoor sitting areas that no one uses because you're still exposed to direct sunlight, rain, etc.

People are better off just building something covered like a gazebo, pavilion, or covered porch. Something that actually blocks you from what's overhead.

QoL Improvement Gear For Techs

So this year and last we've been upgrading our fleet and equipment. Last year all techs both install and service got new F150's with slide out bed drawers, a slide out topper on that, milwaukee combo kits, label makers, and some packout containers. This year we've done new laptops, tablets, and cell phones. Were getting new hardhats and safety vests and we still have some budget left.

I was asked what I think we should include and I kicked around the idea of summer gear for our guys and the OPS director likes it. We already provide UV arm covers and neck/face gaiters every month. It wasn't so long ago I was in the field and I'd like to give the guys some quality of life improvements. What do yall think about the following:

Waist Fans

Klein Hard Hat Blower OR Klein Hard Hat Fan

Power Banks

Hard Hat Sweat Wicking Liners

And before anyone tries to say it, we pay well and take care of our guys already. This money is budgeted for equipment.

Program to Find Large Files on Drives?

I've got about 170Gb of used storage I can't account for. I've tried looking around manually, and looking through add and remove programs. I've tried searching the drive in file explorer looking for a wildcard of files above 1Gb and got nothing useful. Have used disc cleanup to make sure it wasn't just a bunch of temp files and downloads.

Can anyone recommend me a program that will actually take a read of the drive and tell me where big files are so I can try to clean up some space without formatting?

Should I Upgrade?

Hey guys is it time to upgrade? I went to run Arc Raiders and all it did was bypass all known encryption and prove the existence of 5 dimensions. Maybe just a good cleaning you think?

Resources For Learning How To Use Web Hooks/APIs?

Curious if any integrators here can recommend some resources for learning more of the digital side of things like Web Hooks and API's? I know they tend to be MFG specific so this could be a bit much.

I've realized with something like Genetec where I can use a Input relay and an output relay and tons of rules in between I can make all kinds of stuff happen. But as the world continues to move towards digital signals and communication, this analog style will become less and less useful.

For those that have bit the bullet and gone outside their comfort zone to start learning how to utilize web hooks and API triggers how did you start learning such? Can you recommend some stuff to look into?

Can't Stand This Big Pack

Finally ran out of papers and bought some elements since I really like that paper. Decided to go with the a bundle of 5 of packs on the left. Bad decision. Never realized how over the last almost 3 decades I've become so accustomed to scraping up my herb with the flap on a pack of papers. Then placing it in a pre-folded paper. And finally using the spine of that pack of papers to smoother out and tamper my flower before rolling it. Plus the magnetic holder to keep the pack closed was sweet.

These probably work great for home use with a machine but my old ass can't stand it. Going to give the other 14,900 papers to a buddy and buy the other pack design.

Thank you for attending my old man rant of the day.

Pasta Mancer Can't Use 2 Combat Items At A Time?

My pasta mancer can't use more than one item at a time in combat. Is there something I missed that I didn't miss on other class playthroughs? Something that lets you use two items at a time in combat?

How Did We Never Think of This?

This is the stuff that kills me lol. How many of the traditional corner mount have we installed? Those same ones that always need a loop of liquid tight flex and a box, because it turns out running a cable through the corner of a building is a pain in the ass. Someone could have thought of this and been selling them for a decade and made a few million bucks easy!

About to Ascend My Main for 2nd Time. Best Prep Advice?

First off I want to thank you all. I posted a couple days ago about venturing in The Sea and you all really helped me out. u/Giant_Horse_Fish provided a great guide about classes and ascension order. Another user even sent me some items that are awesome and that I've been kind of afraid to use lol. The most important that y'all helped me learn thought was how much I still had to learn about this game. Since then I've been scouring the wiki and web for information about each item I have and it's uses. Learning things about important certain buffs are, etc. Again I come seeking y'alls guidance/experience.

I think I'm at the point where I should ascend my main account which is currently a SC. This will be the 2nd ascension but the first one where I even remotely understand what that means and what to consider.

My question is, what should I make sure to do first before ascending? Should I send all my meat and items I can to my alt accounts? I got a PM and DB for utility. Should I keep some or all of it and let it all go to the storage?
