Planning a Drive to the Huntsville/Green Mountain area this Autumn - Looking for Beaver Creek near Green Mountain?

Title + I was once told there is a beautiful area in Green Mountain by a narrow creek called Beaver Creek. I have lost touch with that person, but their photography for that location was stunning. I have Googled & searched - found Beaver Creek Dam off the Tennessee River, etc, but going eastward into the Green Mountain area, I can't find a Beaver Creek. Does anyone locally know of this creek in the Green Mountain area / point me in the right direction? Thank you!

How-To Question: Is it possible to turn a shopping addiction into a *savings* addiction?

Title + When my mother died, my shopping addiction kicked in. Now, years later, it's only expanded. I repeatedly buy (mostly clothing but some makeup, skincare, and accessories) and then resell or donate most of it. Realistically, I know what I'm doing, but I just can't stop. I'm about to make a run to the nearest consignment shop and just wonder what in the world I've been doing with my life and how much money I'm throwing away. So, I've been thinking: how can I turn this into a savings addiction instead? Maybe addiction is not the proper word, but a way to know my wins (not spending) and ..... am I even making any sense? TY,.

▲ 32 r/Adopted

From one who was adopted at two weeks of age - The older I get, the more I understand what just happened, and, in retrospect here is my list of thoughts/wish list on what I wish had been in place - anything to add . . . ?

I hold adoption agencies (any agency or private adoption lawyer) 100% responsible for due diligence to find loving homes for infants and children. I believe they should be held legally and publicly responsible with financial remuneration to the adopted child if it is proven they fell short.

I think the adopted infant should be placed in their adoptive family with a recording of their birth mother's heartbeat to soothe them as they adjust to a strange new place, and that playing it for them as they go to sleep/are sleeping in infancy is non-negotiable for the adoptive parents.

I think agencies should follow up with the adoptive families - including finances and familial situations - for years as the adoptee grows up.

I think the adoptee - at all ages once verbal - should have alone time with the follow-up workers so they could honestly and freely discuss their feelings and emotions outside of the adoptive family.

If the family's situation seems to be teetering on the brink of something unwholesome for the adoptee, it should be a requirement that they (adoptive parents) have mandatory counseling/therapy put in place by the state until the situation is resolved.

I think there should be a state phone number that an adoptee can call until adulthood (generally 18) if they have any problems or issues with their adoptive family.

I think placing an adopted infant, child, or adolescent on any social media without their permission should be a termination offense. Especially if it leads to monetizing or seeking sponsorships for money. Adopted children are not for attention-seeking narcissists.

Prospective adoptive parents need to be educated that "gotcha day" is a sick thing.

And - I wonder - how many of those gotta have another woman's baby adoptive families would still want to parent if they knew the child would be retaining RIGHTS.

Fosamax to Evenity & I accidentally slipped & fell and Yikes! Has anyone taken a fall after a diagnosis?

Title + I just had my first Evenity shot a few weeks ago after Fosamax for 2 years. I went out to eat the other day and slipped on the tiles as I went from the carpeted floor to the tiled area in front of the bathrooms. It was like ice - no chance to grab onto anything or even wobble around - just whoosh and I hit the floor hard, slightly to the right on my right side. I was shocked, and my hands tingled, and I felt nauseous. I went to the ER. X-Rays showed nothing - no fractures, cracks, breaks, nothing. I'm taking Tylenol, Motrin & ice packs, but am wondering how healing will go. I've never fallen like that before in my life, and the first doctor and physical therapist put the fear of Almighty God in me about falls. I was told to "never get frail" repeatedly and to be careful about everything in my home, from pets to stairs - everything. So, QUESTIONS: If you have ever had a similar fall, how long did it take for aches & pain to clear, and is it possible it will lead to osteoporosis in my hip (currently only osteopenia)? Any advice is welcome, and thank you! PS: As I was being discharged from the hospital, the Physician's Assistant told me two other people had come into the ER with falls from the same restaurant. I can't make that make sense for the life of me.

Allergies & Sinus -Tinnitus - Hearing Loss - Hearing Aids = Help?

A few years ago, I began to develop allergies and sinus issues. The post-nasal, etc was horrible. ?I went to an allergist & received little help, so I went to an ENT who told me I had non-allergic rhinitis and would have it the rest of my life. He mentioned Nasonex, bone broth, and moving to a warmer climate. My right ear never clears, no matter what, and I have ear ringing in that ear that drives me crazy. I know I need to see an audiologist, and that the tests are fairly simple, but I'm really afraid to. My mind reels with this; when I was young, I listened to music in my car & when I was out walking - have I damaged my hearing, if I need hearing aids to help with the tone I always hear now - then what? What in the world is wrong with me, it feels like the walls are closing in. So I have put off and put off the audiologist. If anyone has been through a similar situation, what was your process and outcome? Please let me know; it would be greatly appreciated.

Pure Speculation here - if the government(s) have remains of aliens (or whatever you choose to call it) or even live beings and it's secreted away in government / private facilities, and you unknowingly live near one of these places, and if you are highly sensitive etc., might you pick up on "vibes"

Title plus + might a person pick up on "vibes" or "energies" or "telepathic communications" from the live beings, or even the remains of them, and never realize it? Could they, for lack of better wording, "throw" out something that opens humans unknowingly into the high strangeness and experiences that we scramble to understand? Any thoughts? How many people here have lived, at any point in their life, near a research facility or military base, especially those that have become known for such activities? (Examples: the former Carswell AFB where Roswell remains allegedly traveled through, Wright Patterson AFB, Ft Derrick, Maryland & on & on.) Thoughts?

Out Walking/Normal Evening/All is Well/Then something invisible bumped into me so hard it almost knocked me over . . .

Title + Late summer, in my neighborhood that I've lived and walked in for years. Beautiful weather. Late evening, but still light out. Out of nowhere, something invisible ran into me so hard I almost fell over, and I had to take a second to regain my balance. I also looked around, and nothing was there with the exception of a deer in a neighbor's yard that was looking at me like WTF. Whatever it was would have been behind me, but it was only the wide, open, empty road. It was so shocking that I wondered if I'd had a medical event, but nothing was wrong with me other than being startled.

Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, what were your conclusions? TY.

Is it a much slower season than normal?

Every year at the same time, we come for 2-3 weeks. Normally, everything is packed. This year it seems wide open. It's the beach, and obviously, people are here on vacation, but it's nowhere near as crowded as previous years. What's going on?

Fosamax Side Effects -

I started Fosamax two years ago. My doctor told me about the major side effects - femur and jaw issues. I started taking it and haven't had any issues until, maybe, now, two years in. A few months ago, I would wake on some mornings with my hands aching. I would shake them out, and it would go away. Now I think I'm starting to have some upper GI. - like swallowing a weird thing and subsequent coughing in the evenings. I have never had any issues with arthritis or any kind of GI stuff in my life (with the exception of sinus/allergies/non-allergic rhinitis), so I'm thinking it must be related to Fosamax, so I went to Dr. Google, and there it was - side effects can come in at any time, even years after being ok. I'm almost afraid to mention any of this to my doctor because I'm supposed to move to Evenity injections next month, and I've really been dragging my heels on that. Ugh, hate all of this. Any thoughts, knowledge, or advice is appreciated. Has anyone had similar side-effects from Fosamax?
