The error I'm getting is:

Can someone help me out here? Is this Flathub's issue or Fedora's issue? I'm using Fedora 44 KDE. I've never had any issues with updating of Firefox from Flathub. I'm using Flathub version for a reason because the Fedora's version was nothing but trouble.

I've had this issue and this often comes up around here...

Sometimes e-mail body is larger than the screen, in both height or width and by default, if you want to use single finger to scroll/move mail body horizontally, you will notice that whole screen moves because ProtonMail app assumes you want to quick swipe between different messages, not the content of the message itself of a currently viewed e-mail.

HOW TO SCROLL E-MAILS AND KEEP SIDE TO SIDE SWIPING BETWEEN E-MAILS

In order to keep the functionality of fast swiping between different e-mails, you need to use 2 fingers to scroll messages in vertical or horizontal direction. Just place 2 fingers on the screen and move them in parallel in direction you want to scroll e-mail body to. Mail body will move on the screen and you will remain in current e-mail.

HOW TO DISABLE SIDE TO SIDE SWIPING AND USE SINGLE FINGER TO SCROLL

If you don't like the fact that single finger swipe is a gesture to quickly switch between different e-mails, you can disable this behavior in ProtonMail app:

Settings-> App customizations -> Swipe to next e-mail (disable this toggle)

This way app won't switch between different e-mails anymore when swiping around screen with single finger and it will instead just scroll the large spreadsheet or photo inside the currently viewed e-mail. Pinch is still used to zoom in, but to move horizontally or vertically, you just move one finger across the screen and the content will scroll around the screen.

I honestly don't understand why is single finger not the default to swipe larger images or spreadsheets around and two finger swipe side to side used to switch between different e-mails. It would make far more sense.

Was writing about something in some other post and got an idea this would be really useful in a lot of situations where you want filtering but none of the configurability, control and logging.

Would be neat if NextDNS offered "static" DNS addresses for the most popular lists like for example above mentioned hagezi-ultimate.nextdns.io or hagezi-normal.nextdns.io or oisd.nextdns.io or NextDNS's own list as nextdns.nextdns.io, something like this, you get the idea.

And these encrypted DNS servers should also have accompanying non-encrypted IP4/IP6 servers that filter using same lists but have IP addresses.

Reason why I'm asking for this is for example my younger sibling is not super tech savvy so I set them up on their Android phone with AdGuard's public filtering DNS. It has no logging, no configuration and filtering acceptable for general user. I don't want to set up a NextDNS account for it to use certain list, but if I had above lists at my disposal, I could just put hagezi-normal.nextdns.io in their phone DNS config and voila.

Another use case specific for the use of IP4/IP6 versions of DNS would be as replacement for VPN DNS's. For example, I haven't figured out any way I could input NextDNS IP4/IP6 DNS servers into ProtonVPN app itself. It doesn't offer any option to input encrypted DNS addresses and I can't connect HaGeZi Ultimate list to a IP4 address to input it into VPN app. Then I need to run separate app to override DNS which is annoying.

I know ControlD and DNSWarden offer dedicated addresses for such servers, but I prefer NextDNS over pretty much any other service, which is why I'm asking for it here.

What title says. I don't have "Report device name" checked in the app yet logs still show my system name next to requests. I don't want that. Why is it not obeying the setting?!

It's a minor feature request, but since it's all there it should be too difficult. Would be nice if NetShield statistics would track both session and total stuff blocked. Currently it only seems to be session and the moment you reconnect it's all just gone. I'd like to know how much has NetShield blocked in total and how much data transfers it has saved me in total too and not just session. Maybe with tiny button nearby to reset total statistics if user feels like it or to track certain periods like how much it got blocked in a day or in a week, maybe month. You can't really do any of it now because it's just randomly resetting with reconnections...

I'm using no background in Lumo, so just black and it always starts with gradient wallpaper and takes several seconds to switch to my preference and for stuff at the bottom to stop flashing and I can select what model to use.

I don't have it in any Sleep or Deep sleep state, it has no power saving applied. I know it's a bit older phone but it's still high end and everything is super snappy, except Luma always drags ots feet on startup for some reason taking way too long for something that doesn't even run any models locally... I had local Ai chatbots that basically loaded faster than Lumo. What's up with it?

I have Killswitch disabled in ProtonVPN on Fedora 44 KDE and it keeps activating and adding itself into network connections spawning tons of popups for it constantly. Why is it doing this? I even deleted the connection manually from connection manager and it keeps coming back like a zombie. Why is it doing this? You'd think it would only add connection entries for kill switch when enabled in ProtonVPN app, but it keeps doing this every damn time. App was downloaded from Flathub if that makes any difference...

On my phone I can use PrptonVPN in combination with NextDNS superior filtering using HaGeZi Ultimate filtering. ProtonVPN routes traffic and NextDNS filters it.

On Windows however, I can't seem to override it in same way as ProtonVPN always overrides NextDNS. Even setting up YogaDNS with NextDNS and ProtonVPN still overrides it. It also overrides my router NextDNS settings. I've also used NextDNS DNS server as Custom DNS inside ProtonVPN, but it only works on DNS IP level and not as DoT or DoH so that's useless.

Any other options? Reason I want this is because of superior filtering and control through logs. With NetShield I don't see what's blocked and how effective even really is and what is it blocking.

I've been on Mail Plus plan for years and used VPN here and there under free plan. I'd like to try VPN Plus with all the features for a month or two to see if it's beneficial to my use, but I don't see an easy way to just add VPN to my existing plan and I really don't want to bork up my existing 2 year subscription plan for it, price or payment wise. I'm suspecting if I try VPN Plus it will modify my existing subscription and I'd hate that... Just want to add VPN as extra to test it...

I found that I can use NextDNS and ProtonVPN together and they both seem to work, even if this potentially risks IP leakage, using HaGeZi Ultimate block list just filters so much garbage it's stupid not to use it.

But here I wonder, how good is NetShield at blocking crap, what lists it's using and how does it work exactly? At first I thought it was some sort of built-in lists that are filtered locally on device via VPN established connection, but from what I managed to dig, that's not the case and it's in fact DNS level filtering similar to what NextDNS does, just not nearly as powerful...

"Auto-delete unwanted messages" automatically gets applied to both Spam and Trash folders when you enable it. Why can't we have this as separate options? I only want Spam to be automatically purged after 30 days but not Trash. Maybe someone else has the opposite requirement and prefer to only auto delete Trash but not Spam.

I bought this HP 250 G10 laptop a while ago that has Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi integrated and when I first got it it was all wonky with WiFi and it kept disconnecting randomly, so I had to get some cheap AC WiFi USB dongle just to have a WiFi I can actually use. Then with updates, this resolved and this WiFi was working smoothly with no issues and no need for USB dongle. Till recently, maybe like 3 days ago. Now it's just disappearing entirely. I'll boot up laptop, it'll connect, I browse and poof, there is just no WiFi listed at all and it disconnects. I need to reboot PC for it to appear again until it just disappears again.

How can it go from broken to fully fixed to now more broken than it was few months ago!?!?!?

What title says. I've read news EU parliament accepted Chat Control and is getting passed into law. What does this mean for encrypted by design services like Proton and lets say Signal within EU region (for EU users)? They become illegal to use? They need to introduce backdoors and fundamentally undermine whole point of encryption and entire chain of communication trust? What's going to happen?

I think all this is fucking bullshit to put it as politely as I can, but I'd like to hear from Proton since they probably are on top of things regarding this situation.

I've enabled Nova on Firefox 152.0.5 and it just looks so stupid there is this frame around. I've seen Vivaldi do this bs too few weeks ago and it's so annoying, but there I could at least get rid of it by using Compact interface. There's no such thing in Firefox. And also because there is border, I can't click on tabs by slapping mouse cursor to the top edge of the screen, I need to click specifically into the tab or else it won't work. I'll never understand people who work on UI designs and do such absolute blunders.

Specifically Firefox on Android where it's much more annoying and harder to manually add new search engines but on desktop also. Is stupid Perplexity there just because they paid you to put them there, but Startpage and Qwant didn't so they just aren't included unless user installing it is from Netherlands or France coz they apparently have that as default.

Also it's super annoying that you can't remove engines that you don't use anymore. They are now permanently baked into the interface and it's annoying.

Maybe I'm taking crazy pills here, but using minus symbol followed by search term you want to exclude (without any space between them) used to be default to exclude certain results from your search. However it might be this specific search, but it's just not obeying them.

Specifically I was searching for a model "katya miro" and it shows me entire page of porn model Katya Clover instead. Okay, so I'll clean up the search by using -clover, but it just does absolutely nothing to the results. It only does that by default if I enable Moderate filter for explicit content without even using the minus sign.

Why is it doing this? It's really annoying and doesn't give me any control I was suppose to have with the minus sign operator. It should work with or without explicit content filter yet it doesn't.

Jesus christ Samsung, you entirely and totally ruined Galaxy Watch 4 to a point it's literally USELESS. Not only AOD switch doesn't work in the dropdown menu because it turns off AOD instantly, but turning it on with the toggle just does NOTHING. Until watch randomly decides to turn it on some time later. Or if I take it off my wrist in which case it instantly turns AOD on because all sensors seem to fire up at that moment and somehow wakes AOD up instantly. WHY?! I tried wrist detection on and off and it makes no god damn difference.

And the real offender is the freaking AOD and how Samsung managed to break it to a point I literally CANNOT depend on the watch for telling me TIME. Freaking TIME. The whole fucking point of a watch.

I was on lunch break at work, I check the time and I still had enough. Check quite a bit later and still had plenty left. Suspiciously plenty. I touch the watch face and it jumps 25 minutes, because it was stuck in place for fucking 25 MINUTES! How do you fuck up displaying of time. And to make matters worse, it was SAMSUNG own STOCK watch faces which come with the watch that are doing this. WHAT THE FUCK?!

The watch received 3 system updates since introduction of OneUI 8 and none of them fixed this shit. This is insane. I have 20 years old mechanical watches that are not super accurate, but they are CONSISTENT at showing time. The fuck is atomic time accurate smart watch good for if it just randomly decides to get its display of time stuck for almost half an hour making me almost miss things because of it. THE HELL ?!?!?!?

Samsung, are you stupid? And to make matters even worse, it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with Samsung to fix this bullshit. They literally have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT ANYWHERE. I can only throw it away because it's useless. And there is no fucking way I'll ever buy a Samsung watch ever again if they just break shit like this and never fix it.

Back to Seiko Automatic watches I guess... at least they reliably show time * sigh *
