Class reunions…

I don’t remember my grown children ever attending a class reunion. When was the last time you attended yours? Are class reunions a generational thing?

Who remembers cinnamon toothpicks?

I’d forgotten all about these until just now. Apparently it was “cool” in the 60’s and 70’s, to have a toothpick dangling out of your mouth.

Who remembers this?

Am I the only one who remembers this and likes it? I’m not a huge fan of sodas but every now and then, I want one.

Est 1937, so sweet, so smooth

What was your favorite candy as a tween?

I had a huge sweet tooth and still buy zero candy bars. I can remember buying lollipops for field trips.

Who still listens to music on CDs or cassettes and watches movies on a DVD (using a BluRay player)

Goodness, I seem so “old”. My 8 year old grandson watches a program on TV that seems to “glorify” being a parent. The young people on the program look 14 or 15 years old. 🤦🏼‍♀️

What age range do you feel compatible with?

There was a 20 year age difference in my parents. They’ve been deceased for decades but I’d ask them, in what ways were they compatible. If they were still living.

What year were you born?

I used to think I fit into the “boomers” category until I learned of the generation jones. This feels more like “home” to me.

I was born in 1956.

Edit: Baby Boomers are the generation from 1946-1964, according to my research. Generation Jones is from 1954 to 1965

Does gray hair make us look older?

I was raised to believe this and was a bit surprised that a 40 year old still believes it. I guess I know that gray hair doesn’t hide wrinkles or crepey skin. Some people are genetically more youthful. Men and women.

An older introvert

I love being an introvert when socializing isn’t expected. In my youth, before the internet, I tried to extrovert because I thought that was the preferred personality trait. I could extrovert when necessary but it’s completely exhausting for me. I labeled myself as an ambivert. Now there’s a new personality trait. Otrovert .

I’m addicted to social media because I don’t have to “talk or listen” unless I want to. My depth of processing usually keeps me away from small talk. In my youth, I’d spend more time listening than talking. I’ve got a lot to say and a lot of questions about different subjects.
