Would love any feedback, but some questions:
This will sound silly, but what genre is this? lol I'm so bad at figuring out genres. Alt rock? Indie rock? Pop rock? Some specific sub-genre? I started with metal, shifted to alt rock and then it feels like within alt rock over to this kind of sound more closely on a lot of my recent songs, so trying to figure out what exactly it is
2nd verse ("All the surroundings...") coupled with the chorus is what makes this song unique as you'll see. Does it feel too out of left field or does it work?
One of the more lasting successful songs of this century, Mr. Brightside, entirely repeats the 1st cycle of lyrics a 2nd time and that's the song. But whenever I do it including on this song, I can't get away from it feeling lazy. Does it work okay with this? I can figure out more lyrics but it's a bit hard to continue it after what happens in the 2nd verse/chorus as it'll be hard to not turn it into an entirely different song
Musically does it feel too repetitive?
TIA!
Explicit lyrics as you'll hear in the first 5 seconds
Solid stats during it: .329/.372/.506/.878

Album just soft-launched today and this is first single - wife's health issues magnified over the past month so I abandoned doing any sort of pre-release marketing for it. 25+ year songwriter, original song + lyrics covered via Suno. The original song for this I made 20 years ago. Enjoy.
Still up over 17x since last Tuesday if it's not clear, but damn
So as a reminder, I only play 0DTE SPY calls and puts, mostly trying to time swings.
Post-fed rate decision is a great time to get things right and a horrible time to get things wrong, and also a horrible time to take wins to mean you'll always win and enter plays carelessly.
Yes, was almost at 2x for the day on an otherwise choppy day as I got a slew of reversals right post-fed-rate. I also played straddles going into it as I figured it would move a lot. Unfortunately I was not at the computer and barely on my phone right at the rate decision time. I had to make a quick decision and got out of the puts that did gain a lot, but damn if I was at comp and waited minutes more, I think from that point I would've been at $2,500 and instead I think I was $1,800ish?
Also caught reversal up a bit early but then held firm and gained up to that $2,712.06 mark or so, got out of those, and then things sharply went down so I was like okay, I think market will sluff this off and SPY was still low compared to earlier in the day. so let's keep going with calls.
Oops. Nope, bad play and I backed it up and then managed everything really poorly, but did manage it somewhat to avoid going broke, moving calls further in. But at a pivotal point I had 10 calls at 743, and ultimately decided that's where I was going to pile the call money into, including the bit of cash on hand I had.
But yea, EOD you don't want to be OTM whatsoever because that shit'll be worthless in a heartbeat. Basically if the market stopped going down about 3 points above where it did, I might've ended up even or close to it, but it just kept on going. And the sad thing is I ALMOST got puts on the last leg up before that collapse, but SPY didn't go quite high enough there for me to pull the trigger. I had the order started to do it and didn't. fml
So, where does this leave me? I deposited $300 last Tuesday, and 7 trading days later I have the $5k I withdrew and $222.20 left in the SPY call that so far looks like it'll start okay tomorrow, so I'm still up over 17x.
So, lessons learned:
Maybe when you've nearly doubled your money and you're busy, call it a day. I didn't and yikes.
It's worth noting since this whole run has been the only time I've been able to freely daytrade, it's the only time I've ever played 0DTE after fed rate. That hadn't occurred to me until afterwards and I probably would've been more cautious if it had!
So if looking at overall money since the initial deposit, $300 -> ~$9.200 -> ~$4,500 -> ~$6,120 -> ~$5,385. $5k of that safely in bank. I resisted the urge to deposit towards the end of the day, though it would have helped depending on timing.
I was down to $207 at one point. On one hand, clearly going puts from the start of the day ended up not working. I COULD have gotten out of them ever so slightly profitably before the slow bleed up after the morning dip and didn't, which was a big mistake *slaps wrist*. I myself said take whatever profits you can from puts because there's always market pressure to go up, then I didn't.
Having said that, I managed the shitstorm well I think. Despite only checking in periodically the entire day til around 2:30 or so, at times I moved my positions further in the money, which yes did commit me to full port and I lost more from the point of doing that, but not neeeearly as much as I would've lost if I didn't do that. My initial puts were 752s, which were worth toilet paper by EOD. That's why you try not to double down on the same position if you can avoid it, unless it's still ATM/ITM. I ended up with yes fewer puts, but ITM most of the later part of the day at 756. This otherwise would've been "lol I lost it all", but I didn't, and even with today's disaster of a day, I have over $300 which is more than what I started with, plus $5k banked, and despite late 1dte shenanigans to get a bit more back, I got out of them so I'm not holding overnight.
I did give up on the puts before EOD. I just didn't believe if there was a significant drop it would come before 3:45pm when RH would force them closed. I was right but I still probably could've waited a bit longer to get rid of them. I did also mistime the calls coming back up. and yes like a degen, put in a position at 3:44pm trying to make a quick buck and it force sold for the same price at 3:45pm.
Days like this are the absolute worst for the swing strategy I use, and I did say this day could happen like it did. I was doubtful of it still but having that in the back of my mind is why I have nearly $400 vs. a bag of pennies.
Hopefully this will stop the DMs wanting me to help with trades but probably not, haha.
100% of my plays were SPY 0DTE and end of day 1DTE calls and puts playing swings, intending for short-term in-and-outs but have had to hold longer than I wanted to sometimes.
Was actually up to nearly $9,300 yesterday but entered into puts way too early towards the end of the day and wasn't moving the strikes back like I should've when it wasn't moving my way, so I lost almost $3,700, which nearly erased what I made from Trump's attack cancellation tweet. But I'll take over 20x in 3 days.
P.S. to be clear, I withdrew $5k at the start of today, leaving myself with $612.57 and turned that into the $1,120.97 I have left.
I know sighing at this kind of return seems ridiculous on the surface, but let me count the obstacles in my way today:
So yea, crazy ass day in many ways. I have no idea what half of these bursts during the day were other than one of the bursts up being from Iran saying "closer than ever".
Really wish I made it to 2x, and I WAS there briefly but RH lag f'd me late and I lost probably $200+ just from that and then not closing the remaining calls more immediately when they were close to what I paid. Oh well, enjoy.
Forgot rule #1 - market always *wants* to go up, and Trump's tweet gave the excuse to turn what should've otherwise been a bearish day to build momentum at the end of the day. Was thinking the PPI news would shift back into focus after the novelty wore off but newp.
I kept following up puts with more puts leading into EOD and simply ran out of time for it to go my way. EOD 0DTE options aren't always the best of ideas for that reason. It's not like things moved so far against the play but when there's no time, it doesn't matter - your shit loses money on sideways action too.
That's the problem sometimes when you get a bug in your head, like being close to $10k and wanting to make it there. Realistically after Trump cancelling the Iran attack, should've just taken the immediate plays after and then stopped for the day, which would've put me around $8,800 or so IIRC. Instead I flew too close to the sun in circumstances where it wasn't clear what was going to happen - not a good move.
But could've been worse. I was down under $5k and did some meager plays after to build back up to this.
Will be withdrawing $5k and then continuing with the remainder and maybe will make another run like this, we'll see. So $300 -> $5,000 in real cash still, can't complain.
Now stop DMing me unless you want me to teach you how to lose over $3,600.
Edit: I commented the full trade history from deposit to now. So you can see how I shit the bed towards end of today too. I got lucky along the way too, especially in the overnight holds. I didn't intend to have overnight holds but I made bad plays EOD the last 2 days. Smarter today - no holdings because I'm cashing out the $5k.
Edit 2: It's worth noting despite all the trade activity, I was not literally sitting there with eyes glued to screen the entire day. I try not to leave with positions open but sometimes if it's moved against me, I'll let it sit longer so I might get up at those times. Otherwise I run a separate business too so I have other shit to do during the day.
Edit 3: Analysis from Claude:
"Overall Plays (each time I played a direction): 63
Hits (profit): 60
Misses (loss): 3
Rate: 95%
How often the market moved against you (you had to add to position): 22 of 63 plays (35%). You recovered 19 of those 22 to green. So your averaging-down rescue worked ~86% of the time it was needed.
Blunt caveat — the 95% flatters you. Two trades define the whole period:
The other two "misses" were −$33 and −$17, basically noise. So really you had one loss that mattered, and it nearly erased a day that one winner had carried. Your hit rate is high because the add-strategy converts most would-be losers into tiny wins — but it also means your risk lives in the tail: the rare play that doesn't recover is huge relative to the dozens of small wins."
tl;dr: the 2 big plays today aside, I did still methodically grow the account by lots of smaller trades
SPY up over 3 points since what these were priced at. Good thing because I mistimed the 727s :/
This should be common knowledge, but judging from a recent thread, it's not.
Under current United States Copyright Office guidelines, a song generated solely from a text prompt (without substantial human-written lyrics or musical direction) lacks human authorship and generally cannot be copyrighted. This places the work effectively into the public domain regarding federal copyright protection.
That's it and that's all. If you don't want the songs you generate with Suno to be manhandled by others, make your songs using original uploaded music and/or original lyrics.
Text-prompt-only Suno songs are for your own enjoyment or commercially either to make a few cents or to flood Spotify with it and hope for search listens (and please don't do that - everyone will hate you and it's not likely going to work for much longer).
If you intend to actually seriously make music, or if a song you're making with Suno you intend to use for any part of a serious venture, simply put, do NOT make a text-prompt-only song. You're asking to get reamed one way or another.
The end.
Them:
Hi (me)
Hope you're doing well.
I recently told my friend Jenny Chen about you, and she expressed interest in connecting. She’s a great person and very easy to talk to.
If you don’t mind, could you share your phone number with me? I’ll pass it along so she can contact you directly.
Best regards.

Me (sniffing this out, because this was from a connection):
Hi (them),
Hope you are doing well as well. Was there something particular I do that she was looking to connect about? The things I've been involved with have shifted a lot over time so just want to make sure it's something I can still help her with.
---
Them (replied in 1 minute, c'mon):
She mentioned that she might be visiting your city, so she’d like to get to know a local friend. That would probably be helpful for her.
---
Just noting in case anyone's not used to getting this sort of thing - pretty much anyone contacting you out of the blue and immediately asking for a WhatsApp or phone number is a scammer, regardless of the bullshit excuse they put forth. It helps in my case that the city I live in is small enough and decreasing in population - no one is visiting here unless they're friends/relatives of someone else here, so they'd absolutely not be "looking for a friend" lol.
I've not generally had good success doing this, but figured it was worth asking in case someone else has any tricks that work.
Is there a way to reference the uploaded audio in a way to either get the model to stick more closely to the arrangement of it, or to change something in it?
When I've tried it before was over a month ago trying things like "The flute part is the vocal melody" and that generally did nothing, but that was back with using v4.5+. Like I'm wondering if "maintain the same arrangement of the uploaded audio" or something like that to emphasize something I want it to do, without a negative like "don't include X instrument that's in the uploaded audio" may work in v5.5 or Custom.
I don't have time to try it out til later today but figured others must've tried this sort of thing.
I tend to do covers in v5, v5. and custom model, and even lately v4.5+ just because it'll sometimes do outside the box stuff but has largely been unusable since v5.5 came out even though I can't stand v5.5.
v5 was wonderful before v5.5 came out, but has been problematic since v5.5, and I don't know if this just started happening in recent days or maybe has been happening since v5.5 came out and I just noticed, but it's neutering nearly every non-standard beat I feed it. It might put it in for part of the song, but for the most part it shoehorns in very standard rock beats and it's driving me insane. Custom model thankfully gets it right but often messes with my arrangement, so I still give v5 a shot on most things, but this one issue is making me lose hope for v5.
I live off of unique melodies and unique beats and Suno likes to mess with both. :/
This is one of the most frustrating things for me in Suno. Everyone's like you have to use these long meticulous prompts to get what you want, and this whole time I've been like "...but it doesn't follow what I tell it to." I know well enough not to use negatives, i.e. "don't scream" or "don't sing the lyrics" - both in the prompt and in the []s in the lyrics area I try to direct it to speak or rap verses and sing choruses for instance, and it just...follows it whenever it feels like.
And it's song-dependent which is even worse. Some songs, without any instruction, it'll speak the lyrics, and with instruction of course it will. Other songs - no matter wtf I do it's allergic to speaking the lyrics. Like ffs, if I'm saying it's a RAP song, saying in the prompt verses are spoken, and in the []s in lyrics also instructing it that, why tf is it SINGING THE LYRICS? That's not rap even unless it was autotune maybe, but it's not. It's turning it into R&B.
Is there a magic trick to get it to speak or rap the lyrics where I want it to?
