My family shoots ARA22.

My wife has a CZ 457 Varmint MTR. She has attached a foam cheek riser to her stock with athletic tape. It is not permanently attached and can be removed quickly with the slice of a knife.

She was told at our last match that she must shoot in unlimited class.

I believe this to be in error because:

>8.4.1.4.6. Non-permanent comb changes such as stock sock or padding may be used.

However, one shooter (not the MD) raised holy hell with the MD and the MD succumbed to the badgering pressure.

There is a rule about wraps to the stock but I believe that is referring to vinyl type wraps used on automobiles as the rule is referring to finish, stain and/or paint.

>8.4.1.4.7. Stocks may be oiled, refinished, and/or clear coated. Individual small stickers may be placed on the stock. No paint or wraps are allowed.

I've poured over the rules and can't find anything definitive to allow or disallow this method of attaching a comb / cheek riser.

Is there anything I can point our MD to that would change his mind?

I have a BS in Mathematics and I started doing it in my freshman year as I wanted to increase the readability of my writing on notes and exams.

I’m a big guy and I’ve got XL hands and I tend to like full-size handguns. I have a P211 GTO and P226 X5 Legion amongst others. My winter carry is the GTO so I’m comfortable AIWB carrying a large, heavy gun. My current summertime carry is a G19X MOS with a radian ramjet.

I hate the Glock grip and grip angle so I’m looking at a P365. I’ve held the P365 DH3 AXG and AXG Legion and they felt great in the hand. I’d like something with a metal frame so the DH3 and the AXG Legion have my eye.

How big can I get frame on the P365?

What’s the largest and heaviest I can get from Sig?

Should I just buy a FCU and build around it?

I have a Huxwrx Flow Range 36ti on my AR9. It's currently direct threaded with a 1/2"x28 hub mount. The barrel has a shoulder cut.

I'm looking to add a brake and Plan-B adapter so I can move my can around to other hosts and keep the AR9 up and running. I'm considering the Comstock Armory Compact Muzzle Brake and Comstock Recessed Plan-B adapter (RPA).

From the Huxwrx whitepaper the can has 1.5" distance to the first baffle. The Hub RPA with a compact brake has a muzzle overrun of 1.48".

Is 0.02" enough clearance?

Are there other muzzle brakes and Plan-B adapters you would recommend that fit my use case?

I have a 2016 Ram Big Horn 4x4 with the 5’7” bed.

I’d like a locking tonneau with the ability to fold or otherwise convert to an open bed for hauling. Ideally I’d like to be frugal but also buy once cry once.

I’m in a constitutional carry state but CCL holders have more privileges. Gun stores can bypass background checks for CCL holders, can carry more places legally, etc.

Permitting process was pretty straightforward. Take a class and pass a range test. Submit fingerprints and passport photos to the AG’s office. From start to finish it should take 60-90 days due to background checks, holidays and mail transit.

However I got a letter about 40 days in stating my fingerprints were illegible even though they were taken on a live scan machine at the sheriff’s office. Resubmitting my fingerprints reset my wait time.

All told it took about 100 days.

10/10 would do again.

Gun is a CZ 457 MTR with 24" factory barrel.

Changed from Eley Match to SK Rifle Match after some testing this weekend.

I'm inputting my new bullet into AB Quantum and noticed there are 8 different bullet profiles to choose from. SK lists a BC of 0.172 for the round nosed SK Rifle Match. A lot of the profiles have significantly lower BCs from BC / MV truing but they're not with my gun.

I don't have the range time to do BC / MV truing before my next NRL22 match and the furthest distances we'll be shooting is 100yd.

Should I just rock the factory stated BC with my chronographed MV and go from there? My holds don't seem to change from 100 yards and in.

A5 lower with a Tubbs LW spring and a RB5007 buffer and a Banshee FE 8” upper. Getting a lot of spring noise when shooting FRT mode.

Any ideas to combat this whilst still keeping it smooth and flat?

AF is producing good pistols at a great value. My Romulus is matte black but that DLC coating is sexy and super slippery. The grip upgrade is a major win for AF and the consumer.

I’ve shot a friend’s MAC 9 DS Comp and my Romulus was better BEFORE the grip upgrade. Now there is no comparison. I have about 2000 rounds through mine and now I plan to do an ignition kit now and continue to shoot the beans out of it

Comparatively priced pistols like the MAC DS 9 Comp and the Kimber Warrior better watch out.

I am looking for the part number to order some recoil lugs to run a Vortex Defender XL on my P211 and P226. Both pistols were ordered without an optic installed.

I've dug into the Sig website but I don't see them anywhere. I tried calling Sig a few weeks back and the rep seemed like he was passing the buck to Vortex for them not including it. I don't mind ordering them, I just need a part number.

edit: I think I may have tossed them when I threw out all the promo materials in the box.

Edit: I had to use some stones to take a few thousandths off the top and bottom of the trigger shoe to get it fitted. Took a few minutes but it works flawlessly now. Credit to u/skwmd375 for the details.

I just spent a few hours fitting my AF Aluminum Grip to my Romulus and I thought I was going crazy. The grip safety kept binding and the trigger, hammer and sear linkage was funky. It would not pass functions check. The grip safety would get pinned, the hammer would fall and when cocked back it would fall on its own.

After disassembling and reassembling the action a few times I took it down to just the grip. I noticed the Red Dirt Trigger was binding in the grip somewhat.

So I took my old AF trigger out of my drawer and got some calipers out. The RD trigger bar is a few thousandths wider and the trigger shoe is a few thousandths taller. Without modifying the grip or trigger it would not work. I dropped in the AF trigger, reassembled with no issues and it is buttery smooth.

Hope this helps save someone else a few hours of their evening.

I have two form1 lowers, both approved and engraved. My form1 for both says Caliber 5.56mm with barrel of 11.5"

I have a 8" Banshee 9mm Upper. Am I legal running this upper on the form1 lower?

(I wish we could form1 Caliber "MULTI" like it says on the lower)

I've been sending it as my local ranges don't care, but I want to be in full compliance with the law.

I have a CMMG Banshee 9mm and the width of the buffer spring retaining pin channel on the BCG is 0.1860 inches. I believe triggers like the Atrius are too thin to work with this BCG so I'd like to find something that bridges the channel in the BCG.

I know the RareBreed trigger reset lever is 0.2535 inches wide and will work with the Banshee BCG. However, I refuse to support them.

I'm told the Partisan Disruptor might work but I don't have a measurement for the reset lever. If anyone knows the width of the reset lever please post it.

If you have any other trigger with a reset lever 0.25 inches or wider please let me know.

I shoot NRL22 and I have a quick question. The following is an imaginary outlaw stage that I'm using to illustrate my question:

40 yards: 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" on a KYL rack

100 yards: 1.5" & 2" on a double hanger

1. KYL Largest, Far Large, KYL Middle, Far Small
2. KYL Small, Far Large, KYL Large, Far Small
3. KYL Middle, Far Large, KYL Small, Far Small

6 shots on KYL, 6 shots on Far. Dope says 0.16 MIL down for KYL, 1.78 MIL up for Far. Difference in elevation is 1.94.

Should I dial 0.2 down for KYL (My zero-stop is at 0.3 down) and just hold 2 up (0.2 down + 1.78up) for Far? Is my understanding correct? If not, please advise.
