Got a dead end job by some corporate office
Putting soup into cans and cans into boxes
All just to rent out a room.
Old timers here have been working too long
Just to find out after 20 years that their pensions gone.
But they still act like they got something to prove.
Boss said, “good news!!!”
“You don’t have to work here no more.”
“This here’s Hector,
He’s going to be escorting you off the factory floor.”
(chorus end)
This is my last paycheck, rent’s due.
This is my last paycheck, empty fridge with no food.

I used to live just down the street from the Blind Onion and the Air Academy. I took my wife to show her my old neighborhood and haunt. She saw the Blind Onion and asked if it was any good. I said yeah, “what I remember of it.“ It became our favorite pizza place. We would drive all the way from San Diego just for a slice. So for anyone visiting the town, I highly recommend it.
Quote from Greek physician Hippocrates: "Before you heal someone, ask him if he’s willing to give up the things that make him sick."
^(7) The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
^(8) Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” ^(9) And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
And that day was the Sabbath. ^(10) The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”
^(11) He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”
^(12) Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” ^(13) But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. ^(14) Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
^(15) The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
The question that I want to highlight is, “Do you want to be made well?”
This is a question that we must ask ourselves.
When we come to faith in Jesus Christ we are called to Repentance. Too many of us have a hard time turning from what is making us sick, what’s making us fall into sin. It’s like drinking poison because it tastes good. The only way you can ever be made well is by turning from the very thing that is making you sick.
And this is why Jesus is called the Great Physician.
Last September my father passed away from a brain bleed, he was 88 years old. So I had to go home and get my mom who is deaf from birth, disabled, and not able to drive. Not to mention I can’t trust her with anything. If I leave her there she will have starved herself or went out to get the mail and forget how to get back.
So when I got into the house, my mom told my cousin (who dropped us off), wife, and myself what happened to dad. About halfway through it mom tells u, “oh, and I owe the roofers $40,000.”
”Wait, what?”
”Dad’s dying wish. He said that we could pay it off in 7 years.”
”WHAT?!!!”
Mom got $50K from dad’s life insurance company and through the course of trying to find out about the roofing company, apparently they went from door to door and stopped at the folks home. They told dad he needed a new roof, patched up the end, and changed them $40K.
The worst part was that while dad was dying in the hospital they came to the house. Mom told them to come back late and the day he died they put the patch on. I was about to fight this and found out that mom gave them the green light via text message. We ended up having to pay for it.
For 5 months I fought to get mom paid for Social Security, survivor benefits, and even the VA. I found out the hard way that dad waved off survivor benefits from his company leaving mom in debt.
Mom is oblivious. Is a poor historian. She has an early onslaught of dementia. One minute she is coherent, the next she’s 5 years old, then she turns into a mean old woman that I don’t recognize. She acts like I ran over her dog sometimes and paints everyone who has wronged her out to be Hitler (myself included). She’s only 74. I don’t know how much I can take of her and I can’t afford to put her in assisted living. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
^(11) Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.^(12) As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance ^(13) and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
^(14) When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
^(15) One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. ^(16) He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
^(17) Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? ^(18) Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” ^(19) Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
When we are lost in a storm at sea, we pray for a calm or a light on the shore, yet we often forget to thank God when we find it. We must never forget Him in our thanks and gratitude.
“HEY MOM, I NEED A RIDE HOME!!!”
“PUT DAD ON THE PHONE!!!”
“I THINK I MISSED THE LAST BUS OUT!!!”

What in your opinion is an album that is way ahead of its time?
By the way, This is not an extensive list. kind of wished I’d put other artists and albums on this list. David Bowie, Jane’s Addiction, Stones, Beatles, Dylan etc.
Grunge wise: maybe Dinosaur Jr’s You’re Living All Over Me and Pixies Come On Pilgrim.
Metal wise: maybe Ride the Lightning, Reign In Blood, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Far Beyond Driven.
Rap wise: NWA, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, OutKast, Eminem, Judgement Night soundtrack etc.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
^(5) For all the gods of the Gentiles are devils: but the Lord made the heavens.
Psalm 95:5
New King James Version
^(5) The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”
^(Ezekiel 22:30)
^(Job 9 (Speaking of God))
^(32) “For He is not a man, as I am,
That I may answer Him,
And that we should go to court together.
^(33) Nor is there any mediator between us,
Who may lay his hand on us both.“
Isaiah 6:8
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
^(As I read the Old Testament I look for Christ and find the reason and need for him. It’s a beautiful to know that the Lord has interceded for us by condescending to our level. Jesus stands in the gap for us and is our advocate.)
^(Job 19)
^(25) For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;
^(26) And after my skin is ^([)^(a)^(])destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God,
^(27) Whom I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my ^([)^(b)^(])heart yearns within me!
