Death metal

Death metal was my main squeeze but I’ve been on a sludge/post metal kick. Looking to diversify my new music playlist a bit more with some new death metal.

I prefer groovier/chuggier death metal. Nothing specifically against old school DM but I hate skank beats and overly wanky sweep picking tech death.

Bands I like include Decapitated, Dyscarnate, psycroptic, Gorguts, cattle decapitation, and probably half of what will get recommended to me so share the deep cuts.

Grabbed the last pack

I haven’t had many pickle beers (in fact the only one I can remember is Athletic’s N/A pickle beer which I really liked) but this wasn’t quite what I was expecting.

I’ve never had Grillo’s pickles so this isn’t a dig at them (might taste better in pickle form) but it was more salty than sour and it had a distinct almost chemical note that I associate with mesquite bbq chips.

Still enjoyable but now I’m thinking if I ever want a pickle beer I ought to just pour some brine from my preferred pickle brand in a regular PBR

Taking the plunge, need the quintessentials on bebop, smooth jazz, and avant garde

Hey all, I’ve always enjoyed jazz but found it daunting to sort through given how deep the rabbit hole goes.

I’m looking for some places to start with bebop, smooth/cool jazz, fusion, and experimental/avant garde.

I come from a metal background so this journey is being inspired by the likes of Mr. Bungle, Mamaleek, and White Ward. Certainly no stranger to the experimental side.

Thanks!

My partner went to Korea and brought back a mix pack of beer from Whasoo Brewery in Gyeong-ju

I’ve never heard of a weizen bock but it tastes just like it sounds: banana, clove, and a hint of chocolate bread.
Interesting color too, like an unclarified apple cider
