Do you think that modern camera quality will look outdated in the future? Or have we gotten to a point where eras no longer have a distinct "look" to their camera quality.

One question I've always asked myself is, how will modern photography impact the view of the past in the coming decades? Will we look back on phone videos and pictures and think it looks dated, or have we gotten so good that it won't matter anymore? It's an interesting thought.

What is this god awful look that most phone cameras seem to have? Everything looks so uncannily glossy and smooth. (Best Example I could find in my gallery)

How far would anyone be willing to travel for a cheap (or even free) 35" 1999 Trinitron?

In a few weeks time, I will be helping out some family with moving some items from Texas to Mississippi, and in that collection is a practically brand-new fully functional Trinitron CRT from 1999, which (from what I have been told) is a 35 inch screen. Due to the hassle of transporting a TV of that size, I would like to see if anyone in the community is based in the South, and might be willing to come buy it (I would like to get at least some money out of it, maybe 100 bucks in cash, but in the end, I just want to see it get a new home and be saved). I'd keep the TV myself, but I simply have no room for one of that size and already own a few tubes, so I'd like to see if anyone out there is willing to come save it.

EDIT: I should specify that I won't have the time to sell this while in Texas, so it's really up for anyone willing to come to MS.

Asbestos check - I don't think it is asbestos, but I would like to eliminate the possibility. (Late 60s to mid 70s General Electric portable) Please read desc.

Alright, about a year or two ago, I bought a cheapo GE portable radio and cassette player, it has been a little side project of mine that I occasionally tinker with when I'm not working on other things, and I recently had a bit of a scare.

Underneath and above the coil antenna is a pad, which my guess is used to secure the antenna in place, but it is beginning to crumble, and just last night, a small chunk crumbled into my fingers and onto the desk, and I immediately remembered that GE used asbestos in the 60s and early 70s.

I DON'T THINK IT IS ASBESTOS because the coil antenna does not produce heat, which (from my research) is the main purpose that GE used asbestos for; HOWEVER, I am trying to figure out if it is in fact asbestos, as a safety precaution. If anyone here has any info or knowledge about it, please let me know.

And before you ask, no, I don't know the specific date or year that this model was produced, but I have inferred that it is late 60s or 70s due to the styling of it.

Any VHS releases of the 1979 film that don't have the god awful American dub?

I'm an Aussie looking for a good VHS copy of the original film in the US, but I don't want to buy the American dub, if there are even any releases that don't have it. If not, oh well!
