Questions about fans #cpgeneral

Hello! I have a question about the fans in my case. Firstly, I’d like to change the RGB and I’m not sure how to do that. Secondly, one of my fans is slightly skewed and I’m not sure how to safely fix it. This is my first PC and I use it for work so I can really risk anything breaking. Thank you!

How to build a cube for 3-8 drafters

As the title asks, how do you build a cube that drafts with anywhere between 3-8 drafters? Does anything need to change? How do we make the cube feel well thought out with lower drafter counts?

What deck is right for me?

Hello! I come from Magic: The Gathering and would like to expand into other TCGs. These are some decklist I enjoy playing in MTG and was curious what decklist you think would be right for a first time player with my preferences in MTG.

Esper Goryo’s:
Format - Modern
Archetype - Combo
Goal - Put large creatures in the graveyard to be reanimated with Goryo’s Vengance to gain large value and big damage swings in 1 turn. This list can also slow down and play a more control style gameplan with a couple good removal pieces.

Jund Wildfire:
Format - Pauper
Archetype - Midrange (Aggro/Control depending on the matchup)
Goal - Target our indestructible lands to “ramp” out more mana to cast larger spells faster than our opponents. This list can speed up to become aggro or slow down to cast lots of removal and become a control deck.

Setup advise for first time purchaser

Hello! This is my first desktop purchase and would like to hear from others if this is worth the money? I’m using it mostly for work and MTGO which seems to be considered “light gaming”. Would I also be able to play games like BG3 or Minecraft without it overheating or sounding like an airport? Thank you very much to anyone who took the time to read and comment!

Setup Advice

Hello! My Windows converter on Apple has currently been outdated and I’m due for an upgrade anyway. I’m currently looking at the “Alienware - 15.3" 2K Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 200 Series R7 260 2026 - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB - 1TB Storage - Black” how overkill is this or can I easily convince my wife it’s just an upgraded “work computer”? I know very little about computers but would like something that would have a decent lifespan, play MTGO as smooth as it can, and also be a work horse. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read, comment, and advise!

Edit: Here’s a link to the laptop if anyone would rather look it at that way. Laptop

Does Twobert cube get stale?

As the title asks, does Twobert cube ever get stale? Specifically one with a Wedge/Shard color restriction? Jund is my favorite shard by far and I know I would never get bored of drafting goyfs and Lilis but how often should I expect to draft something like this with my normal commander play group before they get tired of seeing the same cards?

Phandelver and Below miniatures

Hello! I’m looking at running Phandelver and Below for some newer and some seasoned players and would like to make my first miniature collection purchase. I’ve found a couple lists that say a couple different numbers for how many miniatures you would need. Does anyone have a list for the updated Phandelver and Below so I can cross reference before purchasing a set? Alternatively, has anyone purchased the set from MoonStarBoardGames? If so, how did you like it and were any pieces missing from the story?

How good was my first foil peel?

I saw a couple foil peel basics and liked the idea so I gave it a shot, how was my first foil peel?

Any advice on getting lines more straight or how to fit the box nicer?

Monday Morning P1P1

Good morning! I just finished building my cube last night and have only done 3 test drafts by myself so time to ask the masses.

What is your P1P1 from my cube? Do any of the cards seem out of place power level wise? Thank you to all who took the time to share their experiences and tips to help me complete my first cube!

Edit: I’ll add the CubeCobra so if anyone would like you can see the whole cube.

Second edit: to the user who drafted my cube, thank you very much! I greatly appreciate it!

How to judge a cubes power level

I understand the most common cube is Vintage but I’d like to stay away from the very powerful cards I’m watching LSV draft. How can I judge my cubes current power level without playing or is there just no other way? I’m a first time cube brewer with the understanding there’s no better way to learn than to do it but, A. I’m not done building the cube & B. it will be weeks before I’m able to test with other drafters. I’d like to make the Goyfs viable but not make Jund or Grixis the cubes babies or have them be dwarfed by Modern & Vintage all stars. What are my options here?

I’ve tried searching on CubeCobra but I must not understand how to use the website fully as all I ever find is Vintage “Powered” or “Unpowered”. Any advice is helpful and always appreciated! I currently have very little direction for what archetypes I would like to truly support in my cube.

Preferred land cycles

Hello! What are your favorite land cycles to run in non-powered cubes? I’m already running Fetches, Shocks, Surveils, and Pain lands but would like a 5th land cycle for all colors. Man lands seem to be popular in cube but aren’t fetchable. I’d like to stay away from OG Duals which had my considering Verges or Fast lands. Which of these three (is any) would make a great 5th cycle?

TLDR: Which lands should I test for 5th cycle? Manlands, Verges, or Fast lands.

Simic Archetype

Hello! After getting some feedback on the last post about finishing my cube, we’re about at the halfway mark and I still can’t find a good archetype for Simic based on the cards I have in my bulk/collection. Any suggestions would be great. I have a Nadu but I feel that pushes Simic towards “Simic Value” midrange without a true identity.

Can never finish a cube

As the title states, I can never finish a cube. I can start building one with cards I own but I’ll get the first 60 cards in and set it down and quit. I already own 5 set cubes so this would be my first custom cube. I’d really enjoy my own cube I can change arts and cards in and out of but I can’t ever find the motivation to finish one. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on how to actually finish the cube? TIA!

AITA for playing these cards

As the title asks, AITA for running Geydrone Dihada w/ DeCon in the zone + tutor packages, counter magic, and rocks? I understand there’s no brackets in Oathbreaker like regular Commander so am I going too hard and should consider dialing back or is this what you expect to play against at a LGS?

List includes: Snapcaster, Vally Floodcaller, Bowmaster, Ledger Shredder, Wishclaw, Flusterstorm, Lab Man, etc.

How to make a stat block for “Pirate Crew”

Hello! I’m looking at writing a one shot for my PC’s (Party of 2) to play as Pirates. I’d like to maintain a 40+ member crew that works invisibly. How can I incorporate a “pirate crew” to help my players out on the adventure? I’d like the Crew to function as a swarm the PC’s can control. I’d also like to make it modifiable depending on how many crew members are left. Can anyone assist me in the right material to learn so I can make more later in my tenure? TIA to anyone who took the time to read my post!

Trying to cut back

Hello, I’m currently working on trying to cut back on smoking as I’ve continued to cough up grey - black tar for the last couple of months. I’ve recently run dry and I’ve been having a hard time trying to find a purpose with my time. I play MTG and am able to play multiple times a week (thankfully) but that only helps for the time out of the house. At home is my biggest enemy. I have most the motivation to play my PlayStation, to log onto MTGO, or even just sit down to get some work done. Does anyone have any advice for trying to calm my mind in the late afternoon - night? TIA to anyone who comments!

Coven of Green Hags vs Party

Hello, I’m writing a module about a coven of green hags and would like to use them as the final fight to the campaign. What level would you suggest my party of 2 be to take on this coven? I understand Hags are stronger as a coven but once 1 is gone the fight changes completely. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Need help finding my first deck

Hello! I’m interested in getting into modern but the price has always been a hurdle. I’ve decided to try and get over it and work towards building a Decklist and learning the Meta. Would Esper Goryo’s or Grixis Reanimator be worth proxying and trying or have these been pushed from the meta? Which list is better and why? What is currently at risks for bans seeing as Phlage and Lotus got hit? TIA

Something seems off when I play this list and I can’t tell what exactly it is. Anyone other pilots feel free to tell me what I’m doing wrong. Plan is to just ramp into our commander and swing for lethal commander damage. Any help is greatly appreciated. Decklist

u/TheDarkestRitual — 4 months ago

As asked above, when do you considered a decklist finished and move on to the next build? I own almost everything for each of these decklist but I’m missing a handful from each. I’ve recently started purchasing full art foils, special arts, etc. and the process of finishing a deck is astronomically slower. My question is at what point do you move on towards your next commander deck?
