Just Blocking Now… a DePop Rant

For the life of me I don’t understand why DePop doesn’t make offers binding like Poshmark does, but it’s stupidly irritating that someone can make an offer, you can accept, and they STILL have to actually follow through with purchasing. I’ve had several items recently where offers were made that I accepted… only for it to sit there and expire 24 hours later because they didn’t buy.

So I’m done with them. If their offer expires after I’ve accepted it, I’m just blocking them. Am I being too sensitive about this?

How Do You Imagine V Looks Walking Around Night City?

I’m not talking outfits; that’s whatever. But as I’m doing a playthrough with a Sandevistan/Katana build (ain’t no stealthin’ or hackin’ here; everyone has to die haha), I’m figuring V isn’t just walking down the street with a big-ass sword strapped to their back, or guns dangling from each hip. Maybe the sword (Satori right now, waiting for the mission that makes Errata available) retracts into its hilt or collapses somehow?

Pic of my current V just because.

Show Restraint Here When Resonant Releases, Please!

Probably won't do much good, but I'm encouraging people to show restraint with their posts after Resonant releases. Avoid spoilers in your thread titles, and make liberal use of the spoiler tag in the body of your posts. People will play the game at different speeds (some have a lot of free time to inject the whole game in their veins in the first 24 hours, others less, and will take longer to play), and will likely appreciate not being spoiled while they enjoy a new release-era Remedy game's community.

Do Your Secondhand Super Puff Shopping Now

I lost weight and needed to size down on one of my Super Puffs, and I kid you not, I got one brand new with tags still attached from Poshmark for $125. It’s even from the 2025 model year.

Between Poshmark, DePop, and the time of year, college students are getting rid of stuff because they’re either cycling their wardrobe or they don’t want to move stuff home from the dorm. With it being nearly summer, they realize they can’t charge higher prices because of seasonal demand. You can find some stellar deals right now if you don’t mind buying pre-owned.

Will it sit in your closet for the next four months? Yes. Will you, when fall and winter come, be happy you spent $125-$175 in June instead of $250-$300 in October? Also yes. You’re also contributing to reducing environmental impact by buying used, and helping someone else put a few dollars in their pocket.

Signed,

Your Friendly Neighborhood Super Puff Fanatic

Tips for Newbies

I'm reposting this that I posted several days ago as a response to someone's thread, because I think it's good for people who are still new to the game (and it's awesome that we're still getting new players ELEVEN FRIGGIN' YEARS after release!). Feel free to add to it!

Tips:

  1. You CAN parry, but on the normal difficulty (Story and Sword), you don’t need to. Dodging will get you everything you need.
  2. Money can be tight, particularly in early game or after you go on a Witcher gear upgrading spree. Sell loot. Do Witcher contracts. Repairs alone can eat up your coin.
  3. Do the side quests. There’s some great story there.
  4. Do the scavenger hunts for Witcher gear. Not only does it net you some cool gear that’s usually better than what you loot or are rewarded, it often takes you into places in the world you otherwise may not ever visit (particularly remote islands in Skellige). WARNING: do not ever sell or dismantle Witcher gear. You’re going to need it as a component for upgrades. If you find some armor or weapons better than your Witcher gear and you aren’t at a level where you can use the upgraded versions yet, just stick them into your stash.
  5. Roach is beyond dumb when you summon her. She will show up in the most inconvenient places possible, requiring you to finesse her into a spot where she’s actually useful for travel.
  6. If there’s alcohol in loot, take it. You’ll need it to refresh your potions and decoctions when you meditate. You don’t need to meditate for more than an hour unless you’re just advancing time for a clock-limited quest.
  7. Use your crossbow if you’re attacked under water. You can’t swing your swords there.
  8. Most contract trophies give you the same bonuses. Once you have more than one with the same bonus, pick whichever you think looks coolest on Roach, then sell the other one.
  9. Pick the perk that lets food keep healing you for 20 minutes at a time. There’s never a build where this perk isn’t great.
  10. Don’t do the Blood & Wine DLC until you’re done with the main story. It’s meant to be an epilogue. You can do the Hearts of Stone DLC either during the main story or after (but before B&W).

Market Segments for Sub-Brands

I’ve been trying to suss out the target segments for the Aritzia sub-brands. Who is Babaton meant for? Wilfred? TNA? If it’s all largely for the same group (younger, collegiate, middle class), why not just brand it all “Aritzia” at this point?

Main Quest/Contracts/DLC Timing?

Doing a “complete” playthrough to prepare for the rumored third DLC. Finished Velen, on Skellige now, wearing first-upgrade Cat armor, I’m 23rd level. I know I should do Blood & Wine after the main story is done.

Where do you slot in contracts, further Witcher armor upgrade acquisitions, and Heart of Stone for best narrative flow?
