Flash Suggestions

I have the Canon EOS Rebel 1000. It came with this flash but it doesn’t seem to be working. It makes tone, but no lights come on and it won’t let me press the shutter button. I am gonna try to get a different one. Do I have to get a Canon one specifically? Can I get a cheaper flash? I don’t know what kind of hot shoe pin layout I need. I literally know NOTHING about external flashes. Please help!

Looking for movies centered around photography

Doesn’t have to be completely about photography. I would even love if a main character was a photographer. I want to be inspired! Throw em at me! 😎

Looking for Advice on Lens

Hi! I'm relatively new to film photography. I just got a Canon Eos Rebel 1000 from 1990. My dad found it in the trash! It came with a bag, flash, and a 80-200 mm lens! I've been testing it out. I want to try different lens. I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't know the first thing about lenses. What would be good for taking pictures when traveling? The lens I have seems to be for closeups? Like I have to be really far away from the subject for it to focus. I was thinking of getting the 50 mm lens. The Nifty Fifty?? Any advice/recommendations?

Advice for Bladder Training

I have a 40 minute commute to work one day. I am TERRIFIED that I'm gonna get stuck in traffic and that I will not have access to a bathroom. I always use the bathroom right before I leave the house and right before I leave from work. Any advice on how to break this cycle of "peeing just because" out of fear? I got a Pstyle to be able to go in stand still traffic just in case, but I have yet to learn how to use it. I also feel like if I can’t sit for a while, my bladder doesn’t void fully. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is this misleading?

If I wear this moonstone ring on my left hand ring finger, will people think I’m married? Do you think it’s a deterrent? Like men assume I’m married cause I wear it?

I want to know what my style is

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. These are a lot of the inspiration pictures I am drawn too. I really like a layer. Like if you have basic neutral pieces and then you have a pop of color, it’s like chefs kiss. I love casual look but also a smidge dressed up. I love my converse high tops. I like things loose. I love a unique piece. Based on these pictures, what would you say my style type is? I want to be able to find more options on Pinterest and Amazon. It’d Be easier if I knew what I was looking for. 😬

I'm grieving my old lifestyle

I'd like to know why...only a few days before my 25th birthday, my body deciding to give me IC. It's really hard to choose foods. It's SO complicated and it's really taking a toll on my mental health. Somedays, it's no big deal. But somedays it's really hard. I just don't know how people live like this. It'd be different if I had never been able to eat those foods. But I've tasted them and I love them and I can't have them now. In a way, it's been a good change for my health. But things like tomatoes! Those are a vegetable and they are good for you. It's just so confusing and frustrating. I feel like it's doing my nervous system no favors cause I'm stressed all the time about if a food is gonna cause me pain or urgency. Or fearing there may not be a bathroom around. I've also been informed we aren't supposed to do any kind of vigorous workouts? Also good for you. But for IC, it can cause pain if you run cause your urine bounces around and irritates your bladder lining even more! you can't weightlift cause that will make your pelvic floor tight. It's just ridiculous. How can I make sense of this?

Started taking chewable Zyrtec every night before bed to help manage flares...

I sleep deeper which is amazing! But I have been getting headaches lately and eye pain? Do you think that's cause of the Zyrtec? Also, feel pretty tired in the mornings. (I don't know what a hangover feels like, but I feel like it would resemble that feeling lol) Should I stop taking it? And is there an antihistamine alternative that I can take daily and that comes in either chewable or liquid form?

I want to grow closer to God

So, I've been giving it a lot of thought. What really matters in life. I'm not where I should be with God. I don't go to church anymore and I read the Bible but only a few verses a day. I don't feel like I have a personal relationship with God. I want to grow closer to Him. I know the best way to do that is to talk to Him and also dig into His Word. :) Are there any suggestions on where the best place is to read in the Bible to get me back into reading it? I know a lot of people say John and Romans. But I have no idea why I should start there or if I should start somewhere else? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you! :)

I am TERRIFIED to pass out tracks

I don't know what's wrong with me. I know it's important to share the gospel. I am terrified to even keep tracks in my car. Cause I'm scared God will lay it on my heart to actually hand it to someone. Normally I just leave it at the gas pump. I also have Interstitial Cystitis so I see that as a pass for having to hand out Gospel tracks. I feel like Moses...I feel I'm not qualified and I am scared to death someone will ask me more and I don't know how to tell them. That's what the tracks for! How can I overcome this? Other than praying. ;) Thank you in advance.

If you are looking for a substitute to Prelief powder…

I found this! I can’t swallow pills and I heard the Prelief powder doesn’t mix into anything! I found these on Amazon and they look promising! 😆

EDIT: I've just been informed that this has potassium hydroxide in it which is really irritating to the bladder! It's the same stuff they use in paint removers! So, I DO NOT recommend this product!

Looking for supplements to help prevent flares...

I can't swallow pills. I mean physically. I've tried. I'm still trying, but I'm not there yet. After being diagnosed my nurse recommended focusing on diet, taking D Mannose and Aloe Vera daily to prevent flares. She also recommended taking an antihistamine like Zyrtec. But she said take them interchangeably or something like that? Or maybe just to take if I feel a flare coming on? I can't remember. Anyways, I was taking D Mannose for a while and it was giving me headaches. I struggle to find other things in powder form. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best supplements for IC? I mostly have urgency and occasional burning. I am thinking of trying Manuka Honey everyday as that is a natural antihistamine. What would you say are the essential supplement/ingredients to help protect my bladder? Thanks in advance. :)

Started an Elimination Diet. It's only day 1 and I want to quit.

I LOVE food. I want to figure out what my triggers are to be sure. But to do this elimination diet, I have to eat the most boring foods. I also don't love protein but know I need it. I feel like I'm not gonna last 2 weeks. Does it get easier? Do you have an meal recommendations? I want to do it for at least 2 weeks and then start incorporating trigger foods one at a time.

Weird pain when I laugh?

Hey, I have recently been diagnosed with IC and my usually symptoms are urgency and slight burning during urination. Well, tonight I was laughing really hard and I felt this sort of pain in my lower stomach area. Almost like a pressure pain. Should I be worried?

Anyone have an alternative option to D Mannose Powder?

My last visit, I was pretty much diagnosed with IC. My PA said I should take D Mannose and Aloe vera together to help coat the bladder and soothe and protect it. I haven't mastered swallowing pills yet. So I take a powder form of D Mannose. Was taking 1500mg then I upped it to 2000 mg and now I've gone down to 1000 mg. I keep getting headaches and I think that the d mannose could be the cause. Does anyone have any suggestions on non pill supplements that I can use instead?

IC or OAB?

I constantly feel like I have to pee but only a little comes out. So I make myself hold it for as long as I can. I seem to be okay when I'm home. But if I'm traveling in a car or at work, it seems worst. Is it stress related? I went to a clinic and they said I may have Interstitial Cystitis. All I have is this urgency feeling. I never leak. I just feel that urge to go even if I've just gone! I don't have pain of any kind unless my urine is a little too acidic. Then I may get a little burning feeling where ever the pee touches. I'm really hoping and praying it's not IC and that this is something curable. Any thoughts?

I'm starting to think my problem is just mental,

I tried some foods on the no list and i seem to be fine. I don't have much pain. I seem to be fine when I'm home. But feel more urgency when I'm in the car.

On my birthday last year, I had to go to the bathroom really bad. I was on my way home (40 minute drive) and I really thought I was gonna wet my pants. Thankfully I didn't, but it was close. I'm wondering if I've cause bladder trauma from that and that's why anytime I'm in the car I feel more urgency? Anytime I'm not in control of where we might go, it also seems to get worse. Do you think bladder trauma is possible and that it's not food or IC related at all?
