Zeigler Chrysler in Grandville doesn’t care about handicapped people

Went to Zeigler Chrysler in Grandville and 3 of the 4 handicapped spots were taken by dealership vehicles, not by people with disabilities. The fourth spot was blocked by one of the cars parking over the line. I spoke to salesperson about it, who said ‘where else are we supposed to put them?’ and then walked away.

Obviously, they don’t care with that smug answer. I would look elsewhere for a vehicle because they are idiots.

UPDATE EDIT: talked to the sales manager and he tried to spin it into a sale. ‘That was the actions of one person who doesn’t represent the views of this company. What were you looking for, are you going to come back and look at it?’

What a scumbag move.

Field Museum Field Notes

Stuck at O’Hare for longer than I’d like on my way to NYC, so I went for a walk and stumbled upon a Field Museum kiosk. I had previously gotten some Field Notes from the museum, so I started looking to see if they had them here. Sure enough. My wife laughed at me when I bee-lined for them. Pretty psyched.

My Two Duro/MRW Hybrids

For a while now, I was wearing the black bezel with the white face. I stumbled upon a picture of a white face PanAm GMT and loved the look. So I got a Pepsi Duro and moved the white face over to it. Slapped a brown pilot strap on it and I am quite happy.
And I couldn’t leave my trust black bezel Duro empty, so I also got a black face MRW to do the mod to.

Pretty happy with how they both look and happy to have them in my regular rotation.

Brought her home today

Little MinaScout is home and sprawled out on the couch. She is so damn adorable and sweet. I think she is missing her sisters and it will be a bit of an adjustment for her, but I am looking forward to giving her a good home and her being my little snuggle monster.

First beagle incoming.

We went to visit some puppies yesterday and this little angel chose us. While her siblings were running around and being crazy, she came up to us and showed me her belly (I am sucker for giving dogs belly rubs). That sealed the deal. We are going to pick her up on Friday. We were stuck between naming her Mina or Scout (wife and I are literary nerds), but we kept referring to her as ‘MinaScout’ as a name holder and it is sticking.

I am sure it will be a whirlwind of puppy energy and chaos, but I am so psyched for this. We lost our last dog a month ago and it has been rough. Combined with my wife’s grandfather being on his deathbed, she needed something soft and furry to cuddle.

Thank you to everyone in this community. Been lurking for a bit and seeing all the posts warmed my heart.

Pulled the Trigger

Started my first subscription today. So psyched about it.

Any NYC specific Field Notes that you can only get there?

Heading to NYC for a vacation in a month and wondering if there are any special Field Notes there that are hard to get outside of the city? I got some of the Field Museum ones in Chicago and am looking for ones along those lines.

Thanks!

Loaded up for a show

I really need to get a second gig bag, or a double gig bag. Moving to two light weight 1x12 cabs has been the best move ever. So much easier to haul gear.

Storage drawer

Got a card for drawer off Amazon to store my Field Notes. Trying to sort used ones by what is in them.

Random Doodle and Entry

Went down a rabbit hole about music notation and learned about Guido of Arezzo. Then I saw a cool video of someone drawing something like this and it inspired me to

New (to me) Bass: Yamaha BB414

Picked this up today. Holy crap is it nice. One of the best playing bases I have ever played. Can’t wait to put some fresh strings on it tomorrow so I can really se how it sounds.

Yamaha BB434 with Thunderbird Pickups

Got this BB434 for a really good deal. Plays freaking awesome. I am currently addicted to the sounds of Tbird pickups. The stock pickups sounded fine, but I have a couple PJ setups already. So I figured I’d give her the Thunder treatment. It’s so awesome. Reworked the wiring with 500k pots, master volume, blend, tone. Strung it through the body and it’s a ripper.

I am sure some Yamaha fans might think this is sacrilege, but I love it.

Yamaha BB434 - New (to me) Bass Day

Picked up this Yamaha BB434 for a song today. Guitar Center had it listed as a ‘Fender BB434’ and priced about $100 less than they go for. It’s it pretty good shape. A couple dings and some light scratches on the back, but nothing that probably wouldn’t happen after a couple years of playing. It feels REALLY good. The strings were dead as heck, so I have to get some new ones and string it up, but I am digging the bass so far. First Yamaha bass and I am very impressed with the quality.
