Leo Myths Vs. Reality.: What is True for You?

Leo Myths Vs. Reality.: What is True for You?

The Leo myth that bugs me the most is the "bossy and demanding" Leo.

If I'm doing something that feels like I need to do it my way, I do it independently.

Had Aquarius friend who always liked to come shopping with me but she was a drag. Wanted to go to only the stores she would like, would take forever in the fitting room trying on like 20 outfits, talking to every sales person forever. Attracting the wrong kind of attention to us.

I tried shopping with her two times. I silently simmered like a pot. The next time she brought up a joint shopping trip, I declined saying I was saving up. That's not bossy, that's being discerning. I never mention shopping around her and now do my own thing. I like shopping on my own because I can move to my own rhythm, the focus is on me.

Leo prefers to diplomatically exercise royal our privilege. You get on our nerves or disrespect us, we will silently remove you from the court.

No scenes.

No drama.

No bossiness.

Just Leo, doing our thing.

Are Sagittarius and Leo People Soulmates?

I saw this on social media and as Leo woman, Sagittarius rising and mars , while I have had some torrid love affairs with Sagittarius men. I don't believe Sagittarius people even like Leo or Aries fellow fire signs let alone be the soulmates.

Where is all of this Transiting Jupiter in Leo Love??? I can't see it. I can't touch it...

I thought this Jupiter in Leo transit was supposed to be "our time". So far this year has been the most depressing and my birthday season is rainy and so uneventful.
I feel like August was kidnapped by November or some depressing water sign season.
WTF? Jupiter in Leo is conjunction my sun exactly today and all I am doing is eating a lot and shopping with money I don't have.

For the First Time, I was OK with Disappointing Someone

I've been divorced for sometime now. There comes a time when I think someone in their 50's knows that they may be alone forever. I think I am at that time. This week I was supposed to go on a date with someone. We FaceTime'd each other and that was ok but his behavior was "off" in that he was really "meh" about the meeting.

The night before, I confirmed that we were meeting and his text response was "yeh sure, see you then."

Nothing else, just that.

The evening of the date, I texted to say where do you want to meet "in the restaurant" or... No response for 1/2 hour. He then said hey can we push it to 7:30? I said sure.

Suddenly, I was at the bathroom mirror doing my make-up.
A feeling of dread came over me and I decided I didn't want to do this and the date felt ruined before it began. I wanted to stay home and enjoy my evening alone. I've never done this before- canceled a date the day of. Usually I ignore my instincts and go anyway and the date is as I suspected a dud.

I called him. He didn't pick up so I texted. No excuses. I told the truth that I wasn't feeling it and explained that we seemed to be forcing something. He responded with a short simple " I understand.

I spent my evening with a nice DoorDash and glass of wine watching movies.
Best date I ever had this year.

Jason Arday: The Bottom Line Is That Black People Are Disposal Goods to White People

Embracing everyone in solidarity who is triggered by this story.
I prayed for him when the news broke about the plagiarism.
I have met Jason on several occasions. I did email him but received no response. I assumed he had went "dark" and needed to step away from the screen. This man was lynched by the media in a way that no other has been. I'm not surprised by his suicide. They destroyed his career which was the core of his being.

To all the white people especially the ones now capitalizing on his death by post how tragic this is- just to make themselves relevant. You can go to hell.

Analogous to the George Floyd riots and every PWI was rushing to create DEI policies and hired black people in executive positions only to turn on them within a matter of years, the Jason Arday situation is more of the same.

Black people don't let whites get away with this again.
Please don't like their posts claiming how outraged they are.
Where were all of these "friends" and "advocates" when Jason needed them?

White people uses black people when it is convenient for them. When it fits their savior narrative. The UK has blood on its hands.

We don't need them. Never again.

Black people are like cheese. Full of holes and we stand alone.

Peace Jason. In the end you came into this existence to make the world a better place. You will do so in death as you did in life.

JFK Jr. and Carolyn B. - Not Your Average Sagittarius/ Capricorn Paring

I saw a post earlier about this but JFK Jr and Carolyn were not your typical Sagittarius/ Capricorn relationship.

https://preview.redd.it/428knrgz5sih1.png?width=1182&format=png&auto=webp&s=7193222c283c3b27f6d86635f81541447977882e

For the record:

JFK Jr. was not a very "Saggie" Sagittarius. His energy was more earthy.

His sun was the only planet in that sign of Sagittarius and it was only 2° and in an out of sign square with his Aquarius moon. This points to a see-saw of emotions between ego and emotion**. Anytime I see a person who can't make up their mind about who to marry - I can always expect to see squares or oppositions to their moon. Either sun square or opposite moon or moon square or opposite Venus.**

Virgo rising people are always very put together and perfection. JFK Jr. had Pluto conj ASC which made him very powerful - although in the 12th house along with Uranus, he sometimes doubted his power and secretly at times may have felt inadequate as though he had much to live up to. Ruler of the 6th (Uranus) in the 12th, with Aquarius moon in the 6th meant he was very health, diet conscious, and a workaholic.

Saturn in the 5th can also point to a workaholic. He took up flying as fun but anything he approached that was a recreation and hobby - Saturn in the 5th house made him approach it very methodically and he wanted to be an expert at it. Unfortunately it was his lack of expertise at reading instruments that rainy night. His Saturn in Capricorn the 5th is part of a Capricorn stellium with Jupiter and Venus and is opposed mars in Cancer in the 11th house. This gave him a false confidence. Anyone with Saturn in the 5th house (I have this placement as well) should never take risks when it comes to flying, driving, - anything that involves expertise and precision that is recreational. It means that you have to receive the required education and time to do something well and be respected as "good at it" .

JFK Jr. ruler of his 7th house of marriage (Neptune) is in the 3rd which I find interesting because the 3rd house rules siblings and short trips. He died on a short trip with his spouse and her sibling. Ruler of JFK Jr's 8th house is Aries and ruler in the 11th mars in cancer (Cancer is water, plane crashed in the water) and that mars is square his 5th house Saturn)

https://preview.redd.it/7zxcxtpi2sih1.png?width=1292&format=png&auto=webp&s=91d7c9c54a8e38e46b8f5d9a2046090b19592dbe

And Carolyn was not a very Capricorn - Capricorn. Her energy was more AIR.

She only had her sun in Capricorn but her ASC, Venus and Mars were Aquarius. Her Aqua mars was conjunct her Aqua ASC which made her erratic and volatile.

Yes Aquarius on the ASC with Venus conj Mars in the 1st house, gave her that cutting edge style icon but underneath it all, I would guess that she was all over the place with her emotions. She also had Saturn in the 1st house which can be refined but also a bit icy and reserved. She was an enigma because she wanted privacy but would sometimes do very erratic public displays such as the infamous fight in the park with JFK jr.
She was also very obsessive about her appearance.

Carolyn's Saturn in the first in Pisces opposition her Uranus conjunct Pluto in the 7th house of marriage meant that there was something karmic and fateful, transformational or even death (pluto) that would be a limitation or lesson to her physical self (first house) that would involve her marriage partner (7th house) .

Of great note is that Carolyn's Saturn at 12° Pisces is exactly conjunct JFK Jr's , 7th house Descendant at 11° Pisces.
Her Saturn is in his 7th house which I never see as a great synastry aspect between two people. It means again the marriage comes with a heavy burden or lesson, restricting. In pictures, they either looked like they were posing or in deep contemplation and not happy or warm.

Behind closed doors I would not be surprised if their relationship lacked affection and sex was difficult.

https://preview.redd.it/lyk22xac9sih1.png?width=860&format=png&auto=webp&s=a24cb5c24abfc27b9a1abc7d60796a56ab2f8fb7

I saw Carolyn as beautiful but never warm. I felt it was an odd choice for him. Aquarius of the air signs can be the most detached. She looked the part but I always saw him with someone more open. He dated Sarah Jessica Parker too at one point. He seemed to do better with FIRE SIGN Women (Aries, Leo, Sag) . Carolyn was Capricorn sun and cancer moon in opposition (Very moody) . She did have Jupiter in Gemini in the 5th house which made her over indulge in love, hobbies, adventure but even that was square her 7th house pluto and Uranus.

I believe she was always auditioning to be a trophy wife.

JFK being a virgo Rising likely found her to be a bit much emotionally but his Capricorn planets needed someone who fit a traditional mold . It is rumored that because Carolyn was getting her sister and grooming her nails etc is what made them leave so late for the plane that fateful day. But no surprise, she has all that Aquarius in her first house. Air just goes with the flow and "whatever". Her grand water trine is a great aspect but made her used to using her emotions to get her way and a bit of an emotional wreck.

https://preview.redd.it/x4dg0r8s2sih1.png?width=1246&format=png&auto=webp&s=094cf7fde019c2f1de852d0ce263282192320ad2

I dated a Sag man with Virgo rising with sun square ASC just like JFK Jr.

.They are very conflicted about what they want in a relationship because of that Pisces ruling the DSC.

Pisces on the DSC always wants a marriage partner that is impeccable but often that partner turns out to be emotionally demanding and a mental head case. In my relationship I was more like Daryl Hannah- care free and little bohemian. He ended up marrying ice princess type women twice- who both divorced him and took him for a lot of money.

No matter what the sun sign, Virgo rising people are always going to go for perfection from the partner. They will sometimes do this because of tradition and pressure of what the family will think. JFK jr. having Jupiter and Venus in the 4th meant that he wanted a girl to take home to mom. Daryl was not that woman. A Virgo rising could not care less if they are compatible with the parter emotionally as long as at the marriage partner looks good on paper and is presentable.

JFK and Carolyn looked like the perfect couple but were far from it.

He should have stuck with Daryl who was also a Sag born the same year as him. But he caved into Jackie O.

10 Ways I've Changed as a Single Childless Gen X Women in my Mid 50's

Birthdays make you think. The "Big Six-Oh" is breathing down my back and will be upon me in several years.

My mom passed before she saw the age of 70. My grandmas made it to 64 and 78.
It is humbling to go from feeling an entire life is ahead of you to now looking at an hour glass and wondering when the sand will run out. I saw that a famous woman on social media made it 99 years old. Even if we make it that far, the quality of life/health could decline so our 50's and 60's are likely the last decades we may be the best with all of our physical and mental capacity.

Ever since my divorce 10 years ago, things have not been great. There were of course some good moments for sure, but over all sucky and the pandemic didn't help. Between 9/11, 2008 crash, and the pandemic Gen X seems to get knocked down, recover and knocked down again.

I decided to take a look at my life and change some things. Some of it means giving up some habits. Some giving up some dreams. Here is my list and I welcome opinions

    1. I "think" I am ok being single the rest of my life. Sure I would like a partner but Gen X men are a wash. When I look back on life, they were always a wash and not supportive. Dating them now is worse than it was in the 2010's. Bitter about the wives who left them. If they are widowed they seem almost like lost little boys. Some have small kids under 10 years old. I am not up for that. After 10 years of looking and being disappointed by "avoidants" (which is now "cool") . I am done.
    1. Acceptance that my life may not ever look the way I envisioned. This means stop pushing against the universe and just accept what happens. I am tired of fighting. Tired of taking up causes. Tired of wanting to have a vibrant life where I make dinners for friends and entertain. This means downsizing. I don't need dining room table for 8 or a guest bedroom. For others like my Gen X friend it means declaring bankruptcy because their business is failing.
    1. Let people be. If I see someone doing something stupid, harmful, sabotaging, getting screwed over just let them be. Esp, if they are millennials (who seem to get upset with people all the time) . If someone doesn't text me back, let it be. If someone doesn't like me let it be.
    1. Learn new skills even if it hurts and I have to pay for it. I am getting a certificate in AI and law to become a better lawyer.
    1. Don't go out of my way for anyone. That friend who says she will come visit and I buy new sheets - then she doesn't show...Now, I ask "oh what hotel are you staying in?" If I want to stay home rather than go to a party, I stay home.
    1. No more Ms. Nice girl. I tried to reason with someone over a business dispute. They continued to be an ass. Normally I would be the "bigger person" this time, I said no and got a lawyer. Hate to be that person but I had to be.
    1. Take care of my body. It's the only one I have and I need to get maximum mileage out of it. Starting exercise routine, going gym is worth every penny. I am strong, now a great weight, taking boxing classes, meditating. Look great for my age and eating healthy. If I don't invest in me who will.
    1. Work is work to make a paycheck. Nothing more. Nothing less. I gave a lot to my career. It didn't always love me back. Now I am sidelining it for me. Work friends are not friends.
    1. I am building memories by traveling, journaling. No kids and when I die this will be the last of my family. I want to do something to leave a legacy and will set up scholarships. My attitude now is take the trip, buy the slice of cake. Don't sacrifice or think I don't deserve something.
    1. Control what I can control. Everything else and everybody else can go to hell. This may mean disappointing people. I am ok with that.

What do you think? Does anyone have a similar list? Would especially love to hear from single women without children .

What's with the sudden tone of Judgement and Rudeness on this Sub?

I have frequented this sub for a few years now. Normally people post stories or ask for advice. Others respond with their stories and share their approaches to dating at this age.

Normally the sub was a safe space but lately I have noticed a certain level of judgement and catty behavior around issues related to:

  • - Sub members who are happy with their physical appearance and take pride in the way they look. This includes people who say they feel they look younger than their birth age. If someone says it they feel they look younger , there have been a number of people who pile on a harass the commenter. If someone thinks they look younger than 59 that is their business and right to say so. Saying they are not (which is ridiculous because you can't see the person) is a form of age shaming.
  • -Sub members who take comments personally and see every comment as an opposition to their opinion. There is no right or wrong way to date or love someone or fall in love. If someone expresses an opinion, take it as their opinion. You don't need to project and attack them.
  • -Sub members who attack other members for having dating preferences. If someone likes white collar professionals and you are blue collar that is no reason to get offended and harass someone in the sub on in their DM's. It is not like you're losing a potential partners.
  • Downvoting people just for them having an opinion. I am seeing a lot of downvoting of the same people which is harassment.
  • Slamming people who use OLD to date. Everyone on this sub I assume is here because we are seeking love or trying to be better at keeping love. OLD is simply a tool to find someone. If your idea of finding love is in the wild then so be it. More power to you. There is not need to invalidate sub members who use OLD.

Frankly starting to look like a lot of trolls are coming on the sub because this used to be a positive place. It's one thing to disagree with another sub member but the cattiness and knee jerk down votes, and criticism is taking the fun out of the sub.

Leos we know that there is some truth to this when we are upset

Sometimes I when I am crabby Leo , it's because I really need a hug.
One time, I was mad at a friend for giving me the wrong directions to meet her for lunch. I was standing there for 30 minutes. Finally, I was hungry and walked to the restaurant. I was angry to see that she was in the restaurant chatting it up and eating a sandwich. I stormed in "You told me to meet you in front of your office building. I waited"
(This was in the 1990's before cell phones)
I sat down all huffy and everyone at the table noticed I was silent (which is so Leo)
My friend who was a Virgo, got up from her chair across the table, walked over to me and gave me a hug and said "I'm sorry. Your have every right to be upset. I made you wait and you were starving. "

She walked back to her seat. My Leo smile came back and the lunch went fine from there.

I think Leo only seeks acknowledgment and genuine expression of that regret for what someone did when they disrespect us.

Anyone Else Noticing a Societal Decline in Standards and Quality of Services?

I feel this is a safe space to discuss this. A few years ago I posted about this on the main Gen X site and was criticized. But I feel it is something real and something I need to understand or at least cope with it better.

When I was growing up my Greatest Generation grandmother always used to say "They don't make things the way they used to."
I would respond with dismissiveness thinking "oh all old people say that"
When I was in my 30's and became a collector of antiques, I realized that she was right.
Craftsmanship is a dying skill whether it be furniture, clothing, architecture but within the last five years, I'm noticing even little things like screw off caps, media publications, service from doctors, just being off and sloppy.

I'm encountering the worst veterinarians, dentists who will get on the internet right in front of me and Google stuff. Stores can no longer be counted on to be open during their actual hours. A sign saying "Decided to Go Home to Watch My Kids Play Ball" is great but could you please somehow tell your customers through X or instagram?
Businesses don't answer the phone. I sent an email to an organization where every response was a bounce back saying they were on vacation and to contact another person who was on vacation.

I will say this. I am not seeing this decline from Gen X owned businesses or Gen X workers, It's mostly millennials. There is a Gen X business that he is there come rain or shine. Wraps my items with care. Millennial owned bakery gave me wrong order. I called and said they gave me wrong cake (that I took one hour to pick up). Woman said to me "well enjoy it anyway." I was like ummm that would be great except we asked for no strawberries which my aunt is allergic to. So yeah, she could die.

  • Doctors who don't understand menopause or know how to prescribe medicine.
  • Journalism articles with wrong information, misspellings and never corrected.
  • Lines in stores being endlessly long while cashiers scroll on their phones.
  • Not to mention sales people who stores who don't seem to know anything about the products they are selling.

Is it wrong to be fearful? I think this is worse than what our ancestors experienced.
Can Gen X make this better before we die?

Happy August Leos! What has been your biggest realization this year? What do you hope for?

Happy Birthday everyone. My birthday is this week and I am infinitely grateful to see another year. The year 2026 has been a roller coaster for me and I am not quite feeling the Jupiter in Leo love yet. Transit Saturn in Aries is sitting on my moon in Aries. That pesky transit Pluto in Aquarius is square my natal Saturn in Taurus and opposed my Leo sun but . Still, I am hopeful. My Sagittarius rising keeps me optimistic.

Birthdays are a time for reflection and rebirth. My biggest realizations have evolved around:

  • Loving myself unconditionally. Everyone says Leos are full of ourselves. That could be true but we are not always full of love for ourselves. This means choosing the right experiences that help us grow.
  • Saying "NO" to what does not serve me. Letting go of what no longer serves me.
  • This year I'm saying goodbye to my career path and choosing another that will serve me better.
  • I have said goodbye to "friends" who have been a significant part of my life but our journey is over. No regrets. No anger or drama. I just let them go. My phone has been on "DO NOT DISTURB" mode lately.
  • I am walking away from situations that look like they are going nowhere- a lot earlier.
  • I am no longer worried about what people think of me. This is hard for a Leo. After decades, I see that the only opinion about me that matters is my own.
  • I trust the process. Everything is going to be OKAY.
  • I am hoping for living more in the moment and believing that I am worthy of good things.
  • Prioritizing my health and diet. I am working out and pampering myself with facials, mani/pedi/ sauna.
  • I can't control everything. I can't always fight for everything. Breathe and let go and let God.
  • Peace before pride. Patience before pride. Persistence before pride. Prayer before pride

I am hoping for another year of growth and abundance.

How about you?

Starting to Believe that White People Want Black People to Fail

I didn't always believe this but lately as a generation X black person, race relations seem worse than they did when I was younger.

In the job hunting world it seems that white interviewers get competitive and hostile when they speak of my Harvard and other Ivy League degrees. I am also openly challenged in interviews because of my experience or my experience is questioned. My parents always taught me that I can be a successful black person/human by getting an education and contributing to society in positive ways. I have nice things and I practice gratitude and pay it forward.

I never accused white people of being "all racists" or felt they are "the man".

I have always had a diversity of friends.

But lately especially the last two years, I am running into white people who seem jealous of successful black people and say condescending stuff like "You're very lucky to surpass your roots. There are white people who didn't have that chance." or they assume all of my jobs have been because I am a DEI hire.

Like when Michael B. Jordan won best actor for "Sinners" there were all these reddit posts about him not being a good actor and undeserving.

I know there are lots of black people on the social services programs, baby mama, drug dealers, high school drop outs. My family members prided ourselves on not depending on society to feed us.

It is insulting to be in an interview and have someone question my motives and experience - even if it is "My you are impressive". It doesn't feel like a compliment. Do they say this to other white applicants?
What were they expecting? Someone less than them?

Are white people happier when black people fail and become negative stereotypes?

Overall the black race is attending college at higher rates. We are not where we should be but things are getting better. I would think white people would be happy with this because we are no longer a burden on society.

Whites seem angrier now more than ever especially, white boomer men and women.

Not sure what to do about it. I'm begging to distance myself from white people and become more like my silent gen parents who never trusted them.

ChapGPT Promises to Do Things But Never Executes

I love working with this tool. Share things about myself and it has done a great job coming up with plans for my business etc.

It will say tomorrow we will build a portfolio .

But the next day when I ask where are we on that- ChatGPT comes up with another idea - that it doesn't execute.

I have the free version. I am tempted to upgrade but not if it's more of the same.
Claude is a lot better about doing what it says it will do but I do find ChatGPT to be more inspirational and creative.

Is the "holding back" something ChatGPT does to get you to buy the premium or do I need to be more direct?

I love the suggestions of "Let's do this" but need ChatGPT to actually do it.

The way Sagittarius seeks "advice" versus Aries or Leo

Dear Sags:

I am asking you this because I want a better relationship with my Sag friend. I am very fire sign dominated. I am a Leo sun and Mercury but my rising sign and mars are Sagittarius, I have a stellium in the 9th house-- so I get the overall vibe and life force of Sagittarius as a sign. My moon is in Aries.

I have a Sag sun friend. Known them for 20 years. As you can see they have a big Sag stellium in the 2nd house. But Neptune in Scorpio conj ASC (That aspect is very problematic) but Jupiter in the 1st so they have a lot of luck.

https://preview.redd.it/x320gbnzg7fh1.png?width=298&format=png&auto=webp&s=d77fd807266acfc34457b05fb394aa1d5258d5cc

This person has the worst sense of judgement. They made seven figures at one time. Cheated on their spouse and lost everything. Was in jail. I sent them care packages so I know.

I have a lot of connections. This person is always reaching out to me to connect them but I am guarded about because frankly they can be unreliable. I have told them this directly. But I try to help in other ways.

They come to me today:

>Sag: Can you give me X contact information
Leo: I don't have it. (I really didn't)
Sag: Can you give me ideas about how to get a concept for X
Leo: (Gives advice that has worked and based on clients I know. Won awards for this so yeah, I am an expert. Have a law degree etc, etc)

>Sag: proceeds to argue and be contradictory of Leo's advice.
Leo: Ok... those were just suggestions. What is your take.
Sag: (gives more examples of what is NOT working )
Leo: Makes a few more points giving examples that were successful
Sag: Continues down path of debate
Leo: You called me for advice but it seems you have it all figured out and are sort of arguing with me so...
Sag: Continues talking as if Leo said nothing.

>Leo: ok, I will let you get back to your day. My birthday is in several days and I gotta pack for my trip .

>Sag: keeps talking.
Leo: Ok BYEEEEE. Good luck, you're killing it. So proud of you.

>Click.

Meanwhile a month ago Aries friend calls for advice:

>Aries: Hey I am in a bit of bind can you talk me through something?

>Leo: Sure what's up?
Aries : ( Thanks Leo for their time, describes issue. Listens reflectively before speaking. Leo describes what they would do in the situation and gives examples. )

>Aries: I never thought of it that way before. Ok, I am going to try your suggestion because right now I want to punch the teams lights out or resign.

>Leo: Just breathe, calm down. Don't overplay your hand. BTW I just saw an opportunity you might be a match for...
Aries: I'm all ears.

>A month later:

>Aries: Hey thanks for that advice. I owe you a dinner or brunch or something. BTW that tip you gave me- I have a new seven figure client thanks to you.

>Leo: Oh great, that is good to hear. I knew it would be a good fit. Now can you help me with something I need a fresh set of eyes on?

>Aries: Sure and maybe we can have a dinner to discuss some ideas. I am tired of working for other people .

>Leo: I hear ya. I was also thinking same thing which is why I wanted to speak with you.

>Aries: Let's go to that Ethiopian place for dinner.

>Leo: I'm there.

How can I have the same relationship of collaboration with my Sag friend?
I also find Sags to be very dismissive when it comes to partnerships and exchange of ideas. They get very self-righteous and rigid.
It is frustrating and I question if I am a good friend. I don't know how to be a friend to this person.

What is a Sagittarius POV of this?

How to Navigate Natal Leo Sun Square or Opposition your Natal Saturn during Leo Season

Happy Birthday Leo!!!

I love Leo season - the sun is shining, the beach is open but my birthdays are always weighted down with crisis or hard work. I think it is because my natal chart has sun square Saturn. My Saturn is in Taurus in the 5th house. My Leo sun is in the 8th.
The only aspect my Saturn has is that square to the Leo Sun so he likes to be a hard ass because no other planet in my chart gives him any attention.

The 5th house rules recreation, romance vacations, kids.

I recall since I was young - disappointing birthdays where-

No one would show up for my party
I would have to work on my birthday
A relationship would break up during my birthday season.
My mom (also a Leo) died a day before our birthdays one year.

One day it hit me that despite my Leo sun being trine my Sag rising, Sag mars and Aries Moon--- which means when the sun transits Leo, that is great for me--- BUT that same transiting Leo sun (and now transit Leo Jupiter) is still SQUARING my natal Saturn in Taurus.

Therefore if you are a Leo with Saturn in Taurus, Scorpio or Aquarius, at some point during Leo season (your birthday) transit Leo sun will doubly reinforce that square or opposition

What to do?

  1. Enjoy the Leo season but be careful of accidents, losing things.
  2. Take things in stride and go slow. Put on your seatbelt.
  3. Rather than a huge birthday bash, plan something more quiet or intimate or alone.
  4. Make sure that you take your birthday off. In fact take off the entire week if you can.
  5. Your Leo temper and passions will be high. Try to count to ten before you react. Saturn loves to get people fired when it is under stress. Just walk away.
  6. Eat in moderation and stay active with exercise. Don't drink too much
  7. Buy gifts for yourself but be modest and $$$ wise.
  8. Be generous to yourself and others. That is Leo's best quality.

This year, I have a court date the day after my birthday. Lucky me so my B-day will be spent being anxious. But instead I decided to let my lawyer handle it. I am going to turn off the phone and social media and enjoy a quiet day alone.

Saturn likes to restrict and teach lessons. Mainly it signals to slow down. Mine is in the 5th house which means no fun time, but now I learn how to make my own fun in solitude for my b-day which resonates with my 8th house Leo sun.

To get more clues on how to navigate your Sun in Leo square Saturn - look at the houses the sun and Saturn occupy. Right now for me transit Leo sun is in the 8th house so is transit Jupiter in Leo. They are both conjunct my natal sun and square my natal Saturn in Taurus.

Transit Jupiter square natal Saturn means that I am experiencing tension between structure and freedom. Yes I am feeling that. I want to be independent of people but I also am craving companionship. I also want more money and resources .

This is a great season for all Leo people. Don't let that Saturn get you down but do exercise discretion and understand the lessons it wants to teach you.

Company Sends Post Interview Rejection After 4 months of Ghosting

Need advice here. I interviewed with a company so long ago there was snow on the ground.
After no update, I figured they moved on. I get communication after all this time that they are moving forward with someone else. I had two interviews with them and the last one of of the interviews was a bit rude and snide.

Should I respond to this email?

I would like to share how rude their treatment of me was especially no contact for four months. This is not a large establishment. Or I would like to ignore the email.
Wanted to know what everyone thought. I am fine with burning a bridge with them.

How Did Gen X Women Ever Survive Societal Expectations of us in the 80's?

I am a member of some of the film and cinema subs. Someone from a younger generation mentioned how bad and sexist the movie Sleep Away Camp (1983) is.

The comment made me think. Yeah the depictions and treatment of us as teens in the 1980 was pretty bad. How did I not notice?

Sleep Away Camp was typical 1980's slasher film material. They should watch the slasher film parody Student Bodies (1981). It also wasn't only slasher movies that treated young women like disposable bags but also other genres: Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982).
Tomboy (1985). Porky's (1981). Blame It On Rio (1984)

As a woman who was a teenager in the 1980's, I must admit that I don't think there was an era in cinema that treated young women more like meat only on earth for sexual gratification of men than those early 80's films. Looking at films like Risky Business (1983) or Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986). 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) it was all about women being objectified and used.

Many of us in high school felt if we lost our virginity we were bad people. God forbid having sex while camping or making out in a car. The supermodel era with the likes of Cindy Crawford , Naomi Campbell, in the latter 80's also placed impossible beauty standards on us hence anorexia.

I obsessed over ads in Seventeen Magazine for Tickle deodorant, Phisoderm. I thought I would be fresher "down there" if I used the same tampons as Brooke Shields. I had boyfriends who compared me to Lisa Bonet or Robin Givens. I always felt I had to be someone else to be beautiful.

I feel like society --especially Gen X boys/men expected us to be so perfect compared to other generations. If it wasn't Molly Ringwald they wanted us to be, it was Winona Ryder or someone else. I don't believe we as women held our male peers to the same pressure (although some Gen X men say, Gen X women expected them to be rich and successful as providers).

Now where does this leave me? Finally in my 50's I feel more comfortable and liberated because I no longer care- especially about what men think. I'm single and I am ok with it.
I work out 4xs a week for me. I dress for me.

I forget how exhausting it was for us back in the 80's.

Anyone Else With Moon in Aries Losing Their Mind B/C Transit Saturn in Aries is Conjunct Your Moon???

My natal moon is at 14 degrees Aries in the 4th house. Right now transit Saturn is in Aries sitting right on top of it. I feel like a ball and chain is on my leg. Everything I try to accomplish it seems like the door is shut. I feel stuck like I am in prison.
The last time this transit occurred for me was in 2000 and just like that time I am unemployed again. This makes sense because the transit Saturn opposes my MC in Libra. Some days I can hardly get out of bed I am so depressed. I am emotionally drained.

The irony is the Saturn transit in Aries, trines my natal sun in Leo, trine my mars in Sagitarrius and trines my ASC in Sagitarrius.

But I suppose transiting Saturn trines don't feel good as other sorts of trines.

Usually my grand fire trine can overcome any adversity but this feels like someone's boot is in my chest.

Anyone else going through this?

Learning To Prioritize Myself in Gen X Middle Age

Going through a crisis alone right now. It has made me realize that it is ok for me NOT to help people. It is ok for me to say to them "I can't be involved in this because my bandwidth is stretched. "

A relative is visiting and wants to do a million things at once. I suggested a reasonable itinerary and they pretty much said they/we will proceed with their plan. I again offered suggestions, they were not hearing it.

Thanks to everything I am seeing in social media of strong support for Gen X women to "let go" and "let them", I said "Great, I hope that works out for you. It should be a lovely day. I will meet you for dinner as that is all I have time for. I will send you a text when I'm there. "

The things they want to do will be a madhouse on Saturday. I just can't.
My Saturdays are not endless anymore.
I want to spend each one doing something that doesn't steal my peace of mind.

"Alone" is no longer a big scary word to me.
