Why are vegans so averse to backyard chickens' eggs?

Think about it: it's just a happy chicken, surrounded by many others like themselves. They lay it and walk away, mostly they don't even care about the egg. Is that so wrong? Sometimes i think about sniffing armpits sexually. A chicken will sometimes sit on various round objects, thinking they're eggs, but that's just instinct. If a chicken doesn't care about the egg and the process of laying it doesn't hurt it, what's the problem?
