As consumers we need to be demanding better science behind dog food after the years fiasco.

I have been watching the years scandal unfold and I'm very grateful right now that years was out of my price range as I couldn't to be honest afford the vet bills people have had to deal with even with insurance. I'm quite honestly horrified at the whole thing.

I currently feed my greyhound kibble from kibbleUK as I bulk buy from them and after having tried every food under the sun (butternut box, years, pure, tails, raw, freeze dried, home cooked) I have settled on kibble uk and home cooked mix.

However looking into them they also have not done any feeding trials and this is making me wonder tbh if we need to be demanding that pet foods are required to undertake feeding trials long term to ensure these diets are not harming our pets long term. Particularly when in the case of years they were probably the most expensive food on the market and people have been paying through the nose to poison their dogs.

I understand that there are regulations dog food producers have to meet, however, it's clearly not enough. Something has gone seriously seriously wrong for this many dogs to be affected. It must easily be over 1000.

I can't help but feel we need to demand better especially as there's now so many brands on the market and how many of them are really safe for dogs long term?

It would be good for feeding trials to be the standard as well as detailed ingredient lists. It does show that allaboutdogfood has definitely got it wrong as years was promoted to the top of their list.

But where is the information about food preparation standards and feeding trials? There is none.

I think it's a fantastic tool to use but there's no point everyone using it or bragging about their rating if the best brand of food on their site has been poisoning dogs. Your dog may as well have had a McDonald's every day since January as it would have been better for them than years at this point.

I think we are just seeing the tip of this iceberg. What should we be demanding?

I have emailed the suppliers of my dog's food asking if they are intending to do feeding trials or anything further because I think it's important to put pressure on them and get talking about it.

No wonder vets recommend royal canin because it's at least backed by science and feeding trials. They seem to have much stringent policy on their own suppliers as well. I also think it's easier to see if something is off with kibble too.

I have inherited this Welsh dresser. How should I style it?

Hello! So this is my nans dresser. Her mum had it and it's been in the family around 100 years if not more.

It's solid wood and we've rejigged the furniture in the living room to accommodate it so it's now replacing another unit that was there. It was a 3 draw and cupboard pale beech unit.

This dresser, as you can see is quite dark. My nan always had doileys on it but we are only just 30 and would like it to be styled more modern. It currently makes the room darker.

I have put the salt rock lamp, fruit bowl and speakers we had there before on it. However, I swapped the fruit bowl now for a paler solid wood one. The salt rock lamp works and the lamp was always there.

Ornaments for the shelves wise - I've just put what we have already. The shelves are smaller. They have plate grooves and my nan had plates. We are not feeling plates. NGL. I have since moved the large owl to the right and put a large cream plate there that was made by my husband's grandad.

Storage wise we love it. Fits all our board games!

It still feels like it needs something to make it pop.

I'm thinking thick linen cream/oat coloured table runner on the top to break up the dark.

Was thinking of making some plyboard inserts and painting or wallpapering those and seeing what we like.

Maybe a plant. But its in a dark part of the room with no natural light. So would have to be shade loving. Maybe pothos?

I absolutely do not want to paint this in any way shape or form. But how can I style it to fit the room better?

Walls are orange, sofa teal/blue and curtains blue. We have a brick fire place with slate and other wooden furniture but the wood isn't as dark.

Does anyone else prevent their best pack mates from leaving? 😭

My girl doespring is an active hunter and I love her actively helping all the time. I don't want her to leave and find a mate - I also kinda wanna play her at a later date tho. Oh the difficulties in deciding.

2 stone / 30 pounds / 15 kilos down since january

It's been slow and steady. I'm a 5ft4 female. There's been plateaus and holidays. I've not gone above 5mg. Ive been calorie counting every meal. Weighing everything. It's now an obsession and fun habit 😂

Still love my food, but I think I'm finally learning everything in moderation.

This is just my first target I will probs have a break and start again after a few months to get to my ideal weight and I need to learn my new maintenance calories too. But very pleased with my progress.

Holiday next June

Hello! We are going on holiday next June and as part of our road trip we will have 3 nights at Yellowstone and 3 nights at grand Teton.

Have to say grand Teton is definitely lesser known in the UK and I'd love to know what things to check out and see while we are there.

We love wildlife and hiking and geology. We are staying by Jackson lake I think. Would love to hear some suggestions ☺️

How to maximise our time at Yellowstone next year!

Hello! For my 30th my husband and I are doing an American road trip next year starting first week in June. As part of this we will have 3 nights (4ish full days)in Yellowstone. I would love to make the most of the time here seeing wildlife and would love some tips and advice on best spots and how to go about things :)

I have a list based on one of my all fave video games wolfquest of things/places I want to see. But I'd also really like to maximise our time here. I'd love to see all the wildlife possible so any tips would be great.

Wolf quest road trip.

Hello fellow wolf questers 😊

My husband and I have booked a US road trip. We'll be driving from Cody to Lake lodge at yellowstone in June 2027.

I have been nerding out looking at the maps and am intending to take us on a 2 hour detour to specifically visit Lamar valley, see Slough creek and view amethyst mountain from a distance. And (hopefully) come across some people wolf spotting to get a glimpse of the real wolves of Yellowstone (life dream right here)

We are planning to get up at dawn the next day and do wildlife spotting. We are planning the arrival day to detour and tick off my wants and desires to see wolfquest irl. (We are from UK) But also to then drive back up that way at dawn to try and see some wolves.

Wondering if anyone on here would be able to offer any advice on how to see wolves/what other things could we stop at that are wolf quest related? Have seen there's a spotting app for wildlife but honestly I'm just soooo stoked to see the places irl.

I know to be looking out for ravens/eagles circling over kills and agitated herbivores etc. and will be buying a pair of good quality wildlife spotting binoculars (will also have my camera with me with a big zoom lens)

But idk if the Devs or anyone here has been and has any advice or tips or other places to visit en route? Ik it's a bit off topic as it's not directly related to the video game but Yellowstone and seeing wolves in the wild has been a huge bucket list wish for me since I was a child and wolf quest just honestly has been a great filler for that exploring the map as a wolf and all.

Who says video games don't inspire a love of wildlife eh?

Found out a colleague died after work. And all I can think about is how it's just boiled down to an email.

Didn't know the guy well. He was in his late 40s and 50s? Went on a training course with him and we just were friendly in the corridors. He died of a heart attack after work yesterday.

It's hitting me because he had his whole life left. Kids. Family. And it was announced via email mid teams call. No one batted an eyelid. It's just fucked. None of it matters. If he'd known it was his last day on earth. I'm sure he'd have sacked off work and spent it with his family. My workplace isn't even that bad. But it just really makes you think. This is the first person I've known at work die so maybe that's it. I didn't know him that well. But its just sad. Just wanted to talk about it and how shit it is. Cos no one at work did.

Mums mini is very fear aggressive.

We are looking after my mums mini for the week. She is fine with me. But she has never warmed up to my husband. Initially barking at him when he comes in and not letting up. Despite him ignoring her. When she was a puppy he used to play with her with toys but then we didn't see her for a while and she forgot who we were. She warmed up to me because I would visit my mum often.

After staying two weeks with us one time and me working from the office she eventually warmed up to him and now she lets him near her. Last night she was actually asking him for more pets. My husband has never done anything to her apart from ignore her. Our own dog, a greyhound adores him.

Now she does seem to go for people on walks. If people come up to her she barks at them. She gets very very excited/over stimulated leaving the house on walks. We are usually pretty good about keeping doors shut.

However today I was at work and my husband was home with her and he answered the door to a delivery person. She pushed and wiggled through the gap to bark at the delivery man paws on his legs before running down the street across a busy road. She ran away from men doing road works and then ran towards the park. My husband ran after the dog into the park barefoot. A lady managed to grab her and he took her from the lady and she proceeded to bite his hands quite badly.

The dog was so scared she pooped herself.

My mum has had a behaviorist in before to try and help. I'm not sure what can be done to help the situation. Any advice would be great. I'm used greyhounds and honestly we were very lucky it was my husband she bit and not a member of the public.

I've said to her before she needs to do more. She's obviously very anxious and scared.

My mums on a cruise with no signal and there's no point telling her while she's away either. I'm just not sure what to do.

Now that we are getting aquariums and aviaries, what is the next 'big' game mechanic the game is 'missing'?

As the title. What comes next?

Reserves would have been my next thing that I'd want. But we appear to be getting that.

As was herding behaviour.

We have first person perspective and are potentially getting a better version in planet zoo 2.

So what's next?

We don't seem to be able to build zoos multiplayer in planet zoo 2. So that could still be on the wish list.

Similarities between fourth wing and the inheritance cycle.

I feel there are a lot of similarities (even with some character names) between the two.

  1. The dragons bonds work a similar way. They can read each others minds and are bonded that way. And emotional bonds too.

  2. Andarna waited to hatch like sapphira.

  3. Both are set during a period of unrest with an authoritarian political system

  4. Dragon riders have magic.

  5. Saphira is sarcastic and cheeky like andarna and tairn.

  6. Rider dies dragon dies in Eragon. It's the reverse in fourth wing.

Just think the similarities are interesting.

'Above my paygrade' can we assume that everyone gets paid for their jobs?

Throughout the books pay grade is often mentioned but there is no mention as to whether people are actually getting paid for being scribes or fighting. No mention of them having to pay for anything ever. Apart from xaden randomly acquiring daggers and saddles.

There's talk about trade but not gold value or worth.
