bought the game to support the developers

to be honest I sailed the high seas for a while but decided to buy the game at $25, many people recommend just to get it from gifts, cdkeys but they don't support the developers either. then after I was playing, a horde in the school (that's how I died)

Got IP banned from CommandCode

Hey everyone,

Seeing the recent threads here about CommandCode’s confusing $1 Go Plan pricing, I wanted to share my recent interaction with the founder, Ahmad Awais which ended in me getting IP banned without a single warning.

For context, I build my own web projects on Cloudflare Pages so being locked into an opinionated CLI harness simply does not work for my workflow. I was in their Discord trying to have a genuine discussion about why API access should not be locked behind their $20 per month Pro tier, especially for open source models.

Instead of an actual discussion, the founder got extremely defensive

I pointed out that locking the API to the $20 tier limits developers who want to integrate these open source models elsewhere. Ahmad’s defense was basically that people will abuse the $1 plan. But as we know, people are already burning through billions of tokens doing CLI loops anyway.

I mentioned that other services, like Hermes, offer subscriptions with open source models with an API. I dropped a link to Hermes. Ahmad immediately deleted it, claiming it did not contribute to the conversation and told me to stop bugging us with unbelievable requests and demands.

After pointing out that censoring alternatives and locking API access behind a $20 paywall is restrictive to developers, I was hit with an IP ban from their discord server. No warning, no timeout, just a nuke.

It aligns perfectly with what others here are saying. The $1 plan is not a magical SaaS subscription. It’s a heavily subsidized, gated environment designed to keep you trapped in their specific CLI tool unless you pay up $20. If you try to point this out, compare them to competitors, or suggest that maybe their UI or harness is not the better solution, the founder will literally ban your IP to silence the criticism.
If a product is genuinely superior, a founder should not need to censor competitor links or ban users for asking for API access.

screenshots below so you can judge the interaction for yourselves.

Clearly I want a reasonable explanation of this or at least an alternative?? i heard codex is giving $100 credits for students but surely there's more offers.
