Do some straight men just not understand what the male gaze is?

If anyone has paid attention long enough in current media right now you can see why the male gaze is a problem--It's the substitution of a female character's personality for making her look attractive instead. That's not a character trait women always want to see in media. Anyone making excuses for it either just don't understand why it's a problem or has an entitlement issue stemming from watching too many right-wing bigot's rant about modern media.

Let me repeat: it is not bad to have sexy and beautiful people in movies, shows, and games, but if that's their only personality or their sexuality is pushed to the forefront of their character into the audience then that's the time it becomes a problem. Bayonetta for example doesn't feel male gazey because her personality works with her sexualisation, she wants you to lust for her, she's a seductress that will manipulate you into getting what she wants. In the other end of the spectrum is Eve from Stellar Blade that acts stoic but the straight men developers of her game decides to make her ass jiggle with every step she takes and gives her costumes that make her look naked. See the difference?

The only way to actually make this work is to include the male characters in sexualisation, like what Marvel Rivals is doing, to eliminate the unfair treatment, but other than that, the male gaze has no leg to stand on.

This is not a hallucination that feminists are collectively having, this has been a problem that has been happening since the early 2000s. I don't have a problem with people enjoying these things, but to pretend that it's not real or to cry out "misandry" when criticised is disingenuous to the actual issue that plagues the depiction of women in media--which is the unfair sexualisation and objectification.

Btw this is a reminder to have a discussion in the comment section, not just jokes about right wing bigots not getting modern issues. Actually hold discussion so that anyone coming across this post will get something out of it.

KCD2 NPC Death Reactions

Okay so I'm pretty new at the game and I just finished the quest where you need to rescue Vostatek's horse Pepik from a group of 5 poachers. I kept repeating my save outside the poacher's camp many times because I'm still not good at combat so I kept dying. I then tried someone's recommendation to stealth kill the group at night, so I bought a dagger at Tachov and waited until nightfall.

The stealth option was easier, you just have to hide the bodies to not alert the enemies. What I did not expect after killing the 4 was the last one to get depressed and cheer for his friends before falling asleep alone in his camp. I really felt sorry for the guy because dude went around camp swearing to kill me, then sat down, drank some alcohol, and fell asleep, like he just gave up and knew I was near him preparing to stab him on the back. Now I just want to go back to my save and rescue Pepik without killing the poachers.

I've just started playing--currently at Belobog, and looking at how every character works feels like I need to do research before I use them. Maybe I've just been spoiled by Fate/Grand Order's simple gameplay loop with it's color card attacks, class advantage, and match anti traits.

With HSR, every character has it's own original gameplay mechanic that you have to strategise around to make it work. Some units would also need specific supports like Sunday or Sparkle to work, otherwise they're not meta units that are up to date with the current version of the game.

Right now I'm just counting on the element trait and spamming buttons to get through content. Maybe I'm just not used to all of this, but I probably will as I play. Hopefully I save enough yellow tickets to get an E1 Phainon and wait for Sunday to get a rerun.

-The polaroid photo got posted everywhere

-Everything in PHM is getting rp accounts

-And everyone wants to impregnate Ryland Grace

We are going insane on twitter

I already know that Grace is a huge dork in the movie, but listening him drone on about having to sit on his butt tube and making a toga out of a blanket makes it more apparent.

The men are all so cool and stylish it's giving me fomo when I see gameplay footage from them; It makes me want to download the game and collect all the husbandos while ignoring the waifus.

Also for gameplay purposes, what female characters do you all think have both a stylish design and a cool gameplay that makes you think you just have to get her?
