Is a green filter for phase contrast necessary?

I'm looking to buy a Leitz Dialux from the 70s, together with the 402a condenser and a set of PH objectives. Is the green filter necessary? And if yes, should I get one of the official ones from the big brands, or are the ones from aliexpress good enough?

Timelapse of a Heliozoan with a food vacuole. Their digestion is very slow. This is at 100x speed.

Legjobb klippjeim erről az apró, Collotheca nevű ragadozóról. Ez egy rotifer/kerekesféreg, ami a saját gyomortartalmát használva vonza magához a prédát. Több infó a kommentekben.

This squishy bag of algae is a Paramecium bursaria. They don't digest the algae, instead, they let it photosynthesize, so the P. bursaria can get part of the sugars produced by the algae.

This is a Heterolitonotus rex. I surrounded it with prey, hoping to catch it eat something. Instead, it kept going around in circles in this small cave for two hours. I'm tired.

Since I started doing microscopy last year, my main interests were always microscopic predators. So here are my best clips of microbes (and sometimes small animals) eating each other.
