Question for older Gen Z, what did you guys use to cheat on assignments before AI

(I am 100% NOT endorsing cheating in school and I definitely have NEVER used AI in school, I'm just curious)

I think we all know that people my age tend to use stuff like chatgpt to get the answers for school assignments, however my question is what did older people use to cheat on assignments before the popularity of AI? I've spoken to some people and they said that they used Photomath but is that not a form of AI too? Like you take a picture of the assignment and it gives you an answer. Did you guys just google the name of the worksheet/assignment and look for the answers? I'm genuinely curious

(once again I am NOT endorsing/supporting/encouraging cheating in school or the use of AI for school assignments)

edit thank you for all the responses it's interesting to see what people used before AI and the overlap/things people my age still do like making cheat sheets or peeking at other people's answers
