Hey all!

I currently own this game. I got it way back when it released. I want to give it another try, but given my lack of time currently I wanted to check with you guys first before jumping in: how is the magic in this game? Does it feel good? Is it satisfying? Is the system fun to use or woefully annoying?

I always play the wizard so that would be my class, but I wanted to see how it felt to play as. A few friends of mine might jump in too but just wanted to see.

I almost always charge my casts of Fire bolt. However I’ve been seeing that apparently you get energy back from not full charging whether or not you hit the target. Is this true? If so I’ve been missing out on a huge energy return.

Literally all of them.

Remove stunlocking from the crows for rogue so that we don’t see the one shot from sorcerer. Remove the CC lock on 90% of the abilities and keep them as is and it’ll fix them.

Stunlocking feels like shit and makes the game all or nothing in every fight - whoever gets the stun off first wins. Super lame.

Thoughts?

The game’s recent latency has been pretty rough. My group has had multiple severe rubber banding instances that have cost us runs.

Please look into this. Game rules otherwise

This dude has infinite stamina. I can stunlock people to complete oblivion without trying at all. How is this fair?? Stopped playing it because it’s so insanely brain dead.

If I roll a 1 but I’m in my army’s flow of magic, does it become a 2? I was told unmodified 1s are critical natural failures so I wouldn’t get to do the +1 to wound but I also translated this rule as ‘you can’t critically fail while in the zone of magic’.

Which is true?

Wanting to do a proper horde, swarm the map playthrough. I know clanrats are better under Queek and I really like the clan Mors fantasy with more menace belows and whatnot but I also recognize that Tretch brings the pain with insane Stormvermin.

Can you give me a pros and cons for the two? Cost reduction, spamability, all of that are factors I'd love to hear.

I know the Gnome has a chance to generate an additional mana depending on how much gold he has. The Dryad seems more consistently good in this regard, though. A whopping 30% MP regen by level 4 is really good. Couple that with the ability to regenerate with the removal of the growths it seems really solid as a mage race. What are your thoughts?

I want to be a little bit of an aerial hunter chasing after babies. What would you suggest for mutations? I’ve taken efficient digestion and gastro so far. Increased damage to bleeding targets worth it?

Biting someone then hiding in the woods laughing while your minions attack is so fun.

I have a 5080 and a ryzen 9 9950. My hardware isn’t the issue.

Did he skip lichdom and go straight to godhood? I assumed his human form was just a farce to gain followers and his boney body during his ritual was his true lich form. After he succeeds in attaining godhood he looks more like his lich form from the lore and games.

Just wanted to clarify, wasn’t sure if I was confused or not. Where does it take place in Vecna’s timeline of ascension from the actual lore?

Skitarii has been a joy to play and overall I really like them.

That being said, they are in desperate need of some form of grenade regen. As it is right now, a huge part of their class fantasy and identity (Survo skulls) is a limited resource that is hard to find and not shared.

Purely from a class fantasy perspective this has been a huge letdown and has directly hampered overall experience and play feel, especially on higher difficulties where the Skitarii is simply not a priority for receiving grenades considering how much more value other classes get from them.

If this were changed to a regen or a straight up cooldown based ability, Skitarii would feel so much better to play.

You get reroll or 1s outside of magic zones but once you’re in one do you get to still reroll 1s AND add 1 to the wound roll?

Can you pick? I feel like statistically I’d prefer the reroll of 1s over a +1 if the roll result was a 1.

Looking into this I think there’s finally a reason to take Thrallband over cabal. You have the ability to take Thrallband and ROR for some serious consistency with wound rolls and keeping your sorcerers alive with ROR. The combo looks really good in theory. Thoughts?

Paid for the product over 3 hours ago. Game dropped an hour and a half ago. They won’t send the key and when messaged say they “don’t know when the key will send”.

Mass report this seller. I want my key or my money back.

The sorcerer's ranged attack is absolutely crazy for the number of hits but the Exalted provides such a massive boost to tankiness of a unit it's leading that it seems like the better option. 4+ invuln and resurrecting models sounds great.

What are your thoughts?
