I wore my boots about 10 times. It started break in for sure making folds and creases according to my feet shapes. I did not like the lighter “tan” color over all. So I decided to put wax on my boots and used Dr. Marten’s Balsam Wonder on it.

Leather goes from matte/suede texture to semi-gloss look as you can see in the before/after pic above. I wanted more protection against water splashes and scuffs too so I think it will work out better.

There were still people there to my surprise. Many Teslas were parked on the lot. Although I was not a fan of the Afeela brand or that aweful concept car they showed… very sad to see this not happen…

I gotta say that I love the simple shape and lines on the 2nd gen Tacoma the best. It really brings out the muscular nature of the design very well. 3rd and 4th gen are cool too but I prefer this simpler lines.

I am gathering parts to turn my XRunner into a show ready car. Decided to do a mini photo shoot today.

I pulled up to see my friend’s Type-R in the church parking lot. Had to park next to it. Sometimes, things just work out. :)

I didn’t know DGR Los Angeles get this big! I can’t imaging what went in to organize this ride! Kudos to the DGR LA team! I will have to come back next year with something wild. ;)

Bhumemoto’s custom Speed 400 called “Salem”. From the One Moto Show in Portland, OR last weekend. This one doesn’t have the headlight covers on.

My main goal for the new Taco was to carry my custom bike to the shows. Looks like it’a going to work out very well. 👌👌👌

This might sound confusing at first, but the issue isn’t about converting km to miles—it’s about how the system works.

I just bought a 2014 Tacoma X-Runner (Canadian model), so the odometer reads in kilometers, not miles.

I went to the DMV in LA to register the car, and they told me I needed a smog check. No problem, right?

Wrong.

At the smog station, I explained that the odometer is in km. That’s where things got messy.

The tech told me they are required to enter exactly what they see on the odometer into their system. The problem is:

*The odometer just shows a number (e.g., 86,379)

*It doesn’t explicitly say “km” or “miles” on the display

*Their system expects miles only

*There is no option in their system to input kilometers

So even if they manually convert km → miles, they can’t enter the converted number, because they’re only allowed to input what’s physically shown on the odometer.

That’s the issue—not that we don’t know how to convert units.

To make things even more confusing, I later found out previous smog records already logged the km reading as if it were miles (Carfax shows it that way).

At that point, I just stuck with that pattern to avoid creating an odometer discrepancy.

So yeah… now I have a car where the official records don’t match the actual unit, and it’s something I’ll have to explain if I ever sell it.

If you’re thinking “why not just convert it?” — trust me, that’s exactly what I thought too. The problem is the system literally doesn’t allow it.
