never knew u could do this

this is my first time discovering this feature and it’s so cool because we were used to the top-down overhead view. the imagery and details looks so good, this made me appreciate even more how beautiful the game locations are.

i never knew you could actually do this since all we could do is zoom in and out the camera. when was this feature added?

currently, gameplay wise it’s kinda hassle but i hope it will be improved in the future

The only horror film that left me crying (literally)

Film: Good Boy (2025)
Budget: $70k

truth be told, im not even exaggerating...

i only ever cried on drama, romance (and even romcom, rarely) films but man, this film is something else...

horror is my favorite film genre and have almost watched all of its subgenre. from really old, classics to recent films. from sad and comedy horrors to the banned and most disturbing kinds. so far i have watched 344+ horror movies (based on my Notion db, excluding local films).

i watched this low budget film last year, i came across it because of its striking movie poster then dive into it without any expectations and without reading any synopsis summary on RT or Letterboxd . but to my surprise it's actually really good, well made, and quite refreshing take on horror. it was scary, suspenseful, and it got me terrified and stressed (in a good way)

the final scenes had left me crying in tears up until the credits rolled. and i repeat, this is the only horror film that ever did that to me. i was weeping so hard to the point that i hugged my dog while the credit was rolling to seek emotional support.

idk maybe im overdramatic because im a pet person but i will never forget that experience. despite some of its flaws, i genuinely loved this one and even added it to my all time favorites because of that experience.

The Hills Have Eyes (1977): THE DOGS CARRIED THIS MOVIE

im currently on a watching spree of classical hollywood and new hollywood era films (currently on horror) and this is by far the most stressful out of the bunch.

i have never rooted for the actual dogs than the human protagonists. the dogs here are the only ones likeable. the family (except Beauty and Beast) are so insufferable and dumb. i hated Brenda as much as i hate that cannibal family cause she's the reason why Beauty died (she was told not to open the trailer door), from the moment i saw her i knew i wasn't going to like her. i was actually rooting for her demise. too bad mercury ran out of bullets.

and even the climax i couldn't care less about the human protagonist, all i want was to see the dog survive until the end. the dogs might have suffered back pain for carrying this movie hard

if it weren't for the dogs this movie would've sucked even more. thanks Beast, you're the man! and RIP Beauty. and for the others... idc

i hope the remake is better cause i wanna check it out once i’m done with the remaining films

for Vue and Laravel devs here, i need your advice.

how do you deploy your Vue/Nuxt frontends and Laravel API projects? what hosting platforms did you use?

my current Vue 3 (admin) and Laravel 12 API is ready for deployment and the Nuxt (public) frontend will follow soon but idk or not sure what to do and pick for its deployment.

what's the most optimal and cost-effective approach?

big thanks in advance.

I watched 36 classic films consecutively for 41 days

Edit: sorry these weren’t 36. I meant 27 + 2 (classic films but not classical hollywood). I was typing this post at 12am and i thought there are 4 rows of 9s. my head messed up the total. SORRY

I got into classic films when I was a 19 year old guy bored during the 2021 pandemic and I loved them ever since so I started watching Classical Hollywood films again last May 1, 2026

I watched 36 films to fill this block in my Notion DB (+Cool Hand Luke & Room at the Top below but I didn't knew they weren't part of Classical Hollywood). These were mostly Elizabeth Taylor and Cary Grant movies.

Here's my take on my highest and lowest rated movies.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Highest Rated)

Sunset Boulevard (1952): no further explanation for this one. probably most of you will understand why. no wonder why this is a highly regarded film

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939): i loved every minute of the film and despite its age, it it doesn't feel dated. the plot, character chemistry, the emotional stakes, and the ending was impeccable. and given the political turmoil of our country's senate recently this film was so realistic and hits hard and i still can’t believe this was made in 1939. the film also gave me knowledge on some of the senate stuff and technicalities i wasn't familiar with before.

A Place in the Sun (1951): the film was brilliant! i love its narrative trap and guilt tripping. i was annoyed with Alice even though she's clearly the victim. she felt so suffocating, reality of poverty, and obligation trap which you'll never escape from. even i wished for her to just disappear. despite George's reprehensible actions, i still wanted him to end up with Angela. I WAS ROOTING FOR THEM! their chemistry was so electric out of these 36 films in this block this one's romance really captivated me. George and Angela's final scene together made me sad and left me teary-eyed (mind you i’m a guy). how i wished George listened to the precaution “As you noticed, nine out of ten Eastman employees are women. There’s a company rule against mixing with the girls here.”

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958): this film was so glamorous. the plot was complex and the two lead carried the film and Paul Newman outshined Elizabeth Taylor. this line got me hooked even more "I can't see a man but you! Even with my eyes closed, I just see you! Why don't you get ugly, Brick, why don't you please get fat or ugly or something so I could stand it?" it sounds like an obsessed lady but i can’t blame her Paul is as gorgeous as she is in that film. and damn only someone pretty and elegant as Elizabeth can say that and it’s hot (nod to the title lmao). there was a moment when i thought "just leave this prick he doesn't even deserve you" but when Brick (Paul Newman) story slowly unraveled i got the broken pieces of his character and started to feel sorry for him (but still not enough to justify his actions against Maggie). he changed my opinion and i hoped for at least a happy ending for the both of them. Paul and Elizabeth got me teary-eyed three times! the "i don't hear the sound of that phone ringing anymore" scene, got me emotional :/. I also had this weird feeling that Brick and Skipper had a romantic relationship but I knew that subject wouldn’t be possible during that era of Hollywood but turned out my hunch was right after researching the play

The Talk of the Town (1942): man damn, just few minutes of the movie it already got me welling up when Leopold (Cary Grant) said "Miss Shelley, do you believe I could burn down a factory?". i adored the comedic parts of the movie as well, it's one of those drama-comedy films i genuinely find funny. what sealed the deal for me was the the chemistry of the three actors. Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Ronald Colman. their chemistry and dynamic was perfect. this is one of those very few films where i don't care who the female lead ends up with because i really liked the two male leads. ++ THIS FILM WAS SO COZY (maybe it's because of the house). despite its serious themes and plot i can watch this everytime i'm feeling down and blue.

⭐️⭐️⭐️(Lowest Rated)

Citizen Kane (1941): i'm also suprised why i didn't liked this film and my lowest rated film in this batch considering this is one of those highly regarded films culturally and historically. i’ve seen this film rank #1 of several movie rankings. i really had high expectations for this film but it didn't do it for me. pls don't hate me for this. i know how technically groundbreaking the film was at its time it pioneered and popularized the techniques we saw in lot of films we loved but i felt like it's kinda more ADMIRED THAN FELT. For me Kane was so hard to root for and unlikeable for most of the film runtime. i understood that maybe he was like that because of his early abandonment but he never took time to process it and heal. instead he just grows and expanded outwards and became a horrible person. his character feels so distant that there were times i got bored and distracted during the movie. i feel like the movie is so dated. sorry, i didn't get the part…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 (Almost 5)

compared to the other 4 1/2 these two gave me hard time deciding between 5 and 4 1/2 so it’s worth mentioning

Mildred Pierce (1945): i almost gave this a perfect five. but i wasn’t quite satisfied with ending (i really wanted Vida to suffer more) and Mildred felt so stuck in gaining Vida’s affection that’s why Vida became spoiled rotten I felt like she didn’t fully achieved her growth. but i love this movie didn’t turned out like the book

Notorious (1946): the first part of the movie felt a little slow pacing and predictable for me but man, i can only describe the chills i had watching this. it was like the suspense you’ll feel watching a horror movie when a character slowly moving and something unsettling might just happen to them in a few seconds

Overall, the 5 stars film are those films that I will no hard time rewatching too. They’re all must watch

How did you guys rated these films? Let me know just don’t slander me

Are Dylan Patisserie Makati cakes good?

hi i'm planning to buy two cakes for a bday next week but i'm having a hard time deciding if i should buy from them cause i've never tried one of their cakes before or even seen enough reviews on communities. the photos on their website are so fine, so fine that what if i get disappointed with their actual look once i get them?

anyone here has tasted their cakes before? help me out, i’m not really not familiar with the cake shops in makati.

Do they taste good for their price? I like the look of their Mango Reverie and Blueberry Cheesecake

Cake recommendations

Aside from the popular cake brands nationwide (goldilocks & red ribbon) can I ask for any cake recommendations (not custom) for adult bday celebrations just around Makati? Thank you!

Laravel API data envelope

i'm having a hard time deciding which approach i should implement. i'm developing a Laravel api which is consumed by Vue & Nuxt and i didn't noticed that i actually implemented two approaches of the returned response:

[1]

return ArticleResource::collection($articles);

this returns a JSON like this:

{
  "id": 1,
  "title": "My Article"
}

[2]

 return response()->json([
  'data' => new ArticleResource($article),
  'success' => true,
  'message' => 'OK',
]);

JSON:

{
  "data": {
    // output of ArticleResource transformed $article
  },
  "success": true,
  "message": "OK"
}

considering that the API and frontend are private repositories. does wrapping all of the response inside 'data' makes sense or should i just stick on [1] for less nesting? what do you guys think what do you usually do with your years of experience?

Atin-Atin Lang: para di mabilis mapanis sinaing…

My mom taught me this growing up, para raw hindi mabilis mapanis ang sinaing lagyan mo ng small amount ng suka (vinegar ha) yung isasaing mo. It really works even without using the ref especially when i’m alone in the house and matagal balik ng mga tao di ko nauubos yung sinasaing ko. So far ang pinaka matagal na di ko naubos na sinaing is 3 days and hindi pa siya panis. And yung taste ng suka hindi naman sumasama sa lasa ng kanin.

Not sure lang if that works sa mga huge portions of sinaing like sa mga resto or food places but for household it’s definitely a must do. No need to mix it rin sa water just make sure na onti lang. for the measure click here

The Near Career & Calendar Year Grand Slam busters curse(?)

Sorry for the title idk the umbrella term i should call them

I begun to notice this last year and idk if it's really interesting but I'll share it anyways.

This post is by no means intended to discredit or underplay the achievements of any of the players here.

We're not new to the so-called "tennis curse", I know several of them lol. But it got me thinking that this stuff can be close on being one of the tennis curses.

The underdogs behind upsets on some grand slam SF & F

  1. Iva Majoli (also a calendar year grand slam stopper) - defeated Martina Hingis in the final, 6–4, 6–2. In 1997 (non-chronologically) Hingis almost completed a Career Grand Slam and Calendar Year Grand Slam. She would later appear in her last RG Finals but lose to Graf. RG was her missing trophy on her GS collection. Majoli never won any subsequent majors, she didn't reached any major finals after her triumph '97

  2. Pat Cash - defeated Ivan Lendl in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–2, 7–5. In 1987, Cash won his first and only Grand Slam, it was Lendl's last Wimbledon Finals. It's his only missing trophy in his GS collection (non-chronologically) . Cash made one last GS Final on 1988 but he didn't won any subsequent majors after that.

  3. Michael Chang - Michael Chang defeated Stefan Edberg in the final, 6–1, 3–6, 4–6, 6–4, 6–2 to win French Open 1989. Chang won his first and only GS. This was Edberg's only French Open Finals appearance and the only GS missing on his collection.

  4. Helena Suková - defeated Martina Navratilova in SF of Australian Open 1984, Sukova would later lose to Chris Evert in the Finals. That same year Navratilova won 3/4 of the majors. That was the only year she got close on achieving the Calendar Year GS (non-chronologically). Sukova would later appear on three more GS Finals but she never won in singles.

  5. Roberta Vinci - defeated Serena Williams in US Open 2025 SF ending her bid for the Calendar Year GS (this was S. Williams' sort of second attempt as she won 3/4 of the majors in 2002, AO was her only missing trophy that year). Vinci lost to Flavia Pennetta in the Finals, Penetta announced her retirement after winning her first and only GS. This was Vinci's only GS Finals appearance

  6. Daniil Medvedev - defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2021 US Open (his only GS so far) ending Djokovic's bid for the Calendar Year Grand Slam. Medvedev has reached four other GS Finals and he has yet to win his second.

Honestly, i’m not really sure if i should've included Medvedev here cause he's still active but I'm hoping he'll prove this post wrong. I want him to win another GS.

I was surely devasted by Djoko and Serena's bid for the Calendar Year GS. But I'm sure they'll be in the history books for a long time even without it.

Did i forget someone? Let me know.

What if 😴 agent yan siya

What if sleeper agent pala ni beebeeM si ayMEH? Like gawa gawa lang nila yung away nila para ma infiltrate sina SWOH? What if planado nila lahat yan to make it really convincing talaga. Hmmmm?? Medyo melodrama din kasi yung sabi ni ayMeh lately na beebeeM sent troops daw to arrest bato at all cost

Wala akong pake if she is or not pero i can't help to think that possibility kasi isa na naman itong popcorn for us 🍿🍿🍿🍿 lmao

So baka scripted para itakas si bato?

Ive been watching the GMA News livestream since 5pm here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikNRO8Fea74 and it make sense. If this is true baka dds camp may gawa??? Especially the majority senators?!

If you think about, it makes sense. Si SP Mr. 10k nag lalive stream pa na “we’re under attack” thing. Tapos si bato nanonood ng live stream ng news5. Tapos sino nga ulit ang chairman ng public order stuff?

Eto pa, nagsabi pa yan siya na hihingi daw siya tulong sa PMA tapos kinanta pa niya yung alma mater song

Guys update as of 12:54am May 14, i can finally sleep comfortably na for now https://x.com/News5PH/status/2054603229288440114?s=20

Update as of 11:31am: tumakas nga source: Inquirer we need the Interpol card

Maya Black MAD Inquiry

Hi. Asking had anyone here paid only the minimum due or less than the total statement of their Maya Black before? Ilan po kaya ang interest rate ni Maya Black? Unlike kasi sa BDO statements ko nakalagay na dun palagi na 3%. 3% din po ba like the other traditional bank credit card or higher?

u/Totoro-Caelum — 3 months ago

Tell me hindi lang ako ang naiinis kapag hindi sinusuklian ng tama sa cashier kasi wala silang centavo coins, especially sa grocery and convenient stores

Call me petty but I paid the whole amount and that 12% VAT the least you could do is give my change whole too. Nakakabwisit since this is recurring na. I know this is not the cashiers’ fault and im really blaming them. Lagi nalang insufficient ang panukli, why tf the store managers can’t reserve some coins for tomorrow?

Bwisit naman kasi may pa “.25”, “.50”, “.75” pa sa price tags.
