How to know when to head to the doctor?
Hey everyone. Well for the first time ever, I ended up with a special kind of zit. This one did not have a white he’d to it. Nor did it have a black head. Instead it was totally red, white a red head so to speak.
Well in the past any time I have had a zit, if I didn’t squeeze it and empty its contents, it would surely heal over time on its own, but it almost always left me with a red mark that would last for around a year.
So with that said, I squeezed this fully red one. Thankfully it did NOT explode, because I learned from some other people that I actually had blood as the head of this particular zit. I know this because the top was very squishy, like a blood blister.
After squeezing I applied ice to it and everything of the sort to get the swelling down. However the very top of the zit is now black and crusty. I am guessing that is oxidized blood and has essentially gone from being a zit with a red head with blood trapped beneath it, to a red zit with a black scabbed head.
My question is how do I know it’s simply a black scab and not necrotic tissue?
For what it’s worth there is absolutely no foul smell, no drainage, or anything. The base of the zit is still red but the top half is totally black.
I am unsure if I should head to the doctor to get it checked out. Luckily ever since squeezibg it two days ago it has continually shrunk. the only difference is that instead of having the red squishy blood blistery head that I had before squeezing it, now it has a totally dry black scab like head
