Women’s heirloom overalls shorts - we lost 3 inches, 4 pockets, & our hammer loop??
Does anyone know what’s going on with DTC?
They changed these awesome casual work clothes (women’s heirloom overall shorts 10” inseam) that were perfect for me as an artist.
I could get paint on them, or accidentally cut part then stitch it back up, and no one could see anything wrong with them despite the fact that I’ve been wearing them for a while. I am actually still getting compliments on them everywhere I go. More importantly, I could drop an entire book in one of my two large lower thigh pockets, a phone in the back pocket, shove my wallet in a front pocket, keys in the other front pocket, hang a pair of heavy duty shears on the hammer loop, and walk off to address an emergency then go back to work and easily find all my stuff.
The thigh pockets are all gone along with the 3 inches in length, and the hammer loop has been replaced with a light duty carabiner clip. The back pocket… I don’t even know where to begin with the back pocket.
I guess whomever designed these new back pockets is not aware of how back pockets work? To reach a back pocket, it is more comfortable to swivel your shoulder but now, because that pocket is a slanted slit design… they expect you to reach into them the same way you reach into front pockets? But that is not how elbow joints work. Because you would also need to rotate your hand to use the back pocket when it is angled, trying to use it will actually strain your elbow.
Also, using the front pocket design on a woman’s rear instantly makes me think of that old joke about a man putting the potato down his pants… it’s just a really weird and less functional choice.
I know that they are now spinning these new overalls as having 8 pockets, so I went and checked the math on my old ones. Not counting all the subdivisions as separate pockets, we used to have 10 solid pockets. If you counted every single subdivision as a new pocket, we had 15. Losing those 3 inches of length literally cost us 4 completely functional lower pockets.
All of this to say, is there any chance DTC is going to fix these things or do I have to wait for a sale on the longer length overalls then hem them to knee length to get new clothes?
