We migrated from Recharge to Easy Subscriptions - here's what actually changed (6 months in)

After 2 years on Recharge we were paying $99/mo + 1.25% per transaction. At our MRR that was eating ~$400/month just in app fees.

Switched to Easy Subscriptions 6 months ago. Here's the honest breakdown:

What got better:

  • Customer portal: subscribers can pause, skip, swap, and change frequency themselves - killed 30% of our cancellation requests
  • Dunning is automatic with smart retry logic - recovered X% of failed payments in month 1
  • Build-a-Box: we launched a customizable box option we couldn't do before

What to know before switching:

  • Migration took about 30 minutes (they have a guide)
  • Some custom workflows need rebuilding

Happy to answer questions if you're evaluating alternatives.

My SaaS website has been stuck at ~150 organic visitors/day for over a year. What would you audit first?

I've been working on my Shopify SaaS website for over a year, but organic traffic has plateaued at around 150 visitors/day.

I'm not looking for someone to hire here. I'd genuinely like to understand what experienced SEOs would audit first in this situation.

Some context:

  • Shopify SaaS product
  • Content has been published consistently
  • Technical SEO basics are in place
  • Some backlinks have been built
  • Traffic has remained almost flat for months

If this were your project, what would you investigate first?

  • Technical SEO?
  • Content quality/topical authority?
  • Internal linking?
  • Backlink profile?
  • Search intent mismatch?
  • Something else?

I'd appreciate any suggestions or frameworks you use to diagnose a site that's stopped growing.

How Indian Shopify Merchants Can Build Recurring Revenue (Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU)

Most Shopify subscription solutions assume you're using Shopify Payments or Stripe.

But many Indian stores use Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, or other local gateways.

If you're selling on subscription:

  • What's your current setup?
  • Are recurring payments working smoothly?
  • Any challenges you've faced?

Curious to hear how other Indian merchants are solving this.

Indian Shopify Merchants: How Are You Handling Subscriptions Without Shopify Payments?

Shopify Payments isn't available in India, which creates challenges for merchants who want to offer subscription products and recurring billing.

After working with several Shopify stores, we found that many merchants either avoid subscriptions completely or rely on manual renewal processes.

We recently implemented a custom recurring payment solution that allows Shopify stores to run subscriptions without Shopify Payments.

I'm curious:

  • Have you tried offering subscriptions on your Shopify store?
  • Which payment gateway are you using?
  • What has been your biggest challenge with recurring payments?

Looking to learn from other merchants and share ideas with anyone facing the same problem.

Anyone here running a meal subscription on Shopify?

I'm looking into starting a meal subscription store and wanted to hear from people who are already doing it.

A few things I'm curious about:

  • Do customers prefer weekly or monthly plans?
  • How often do people skip deliveries?
  • Do you let customers choose their meals or offer fixed meal plans?
  • What has been the biggest challenge with subscriptions?

I've seen a lot of meal prep and healthy food brands using subscriptions, but I'd love to hear some real experiences from store owners.

What's working well for you and what would you do differently if you were starting again?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience! 😊

Has anyone successfully used Paystack for recurring subscription payments on Shopify?

I'm looking into subscription options for a Shopify store that primarily serves customers in South Africa.

For those who have used Paystack how reliable has it been for recurring subscription payments? Were there any challenges with setup, payment retries, customer management, or recurring billing?

I'd love to hear about real world experiences, lessons learned and any limitations you encountered.

How many products in your store are actually subscription-ready?

I was looking at a few Shopify stores recently and noticed that many merchants focus only on their main products.

But sometimes the biggest opportunity is in products that customers buy repeatedly, or products that can be upsold and cross-sold after the first purchase.

For example:

  • Products that customers need to replenish
  • Accessories that go well with the main product
  • Add-ons that increase AOV
  • Products that could work as subscriptions in the future

How do you identify these opportunities in your store?

Do you have a process for finding products that are good for subscriptions, upsells, or cross-sells?

Curious to hear how other merchants approach this.

Looking for a Guest Post & Blogger Outreach Expert for a Shopify App

I run a Shopify subscription app and I'm trying to get more visibility outside of the Shopify App Store.

I'm curious how other app founders are getting featured on blogs, review websites, newsletters, and ecommerce publications.

A few questions:

  • Are guest posts still working for SaaS and Shopify apps?
  • How do you find relevant blogs in the Shopify/eCommerce space?
  • Do you do outreach yourself or work with someone?
  • What has given you the best results?

Would love to hear what's working for others.

I built a Shopify subscription app after seeing many store owners struggle with recurring revenue. Here's what I learned.

Over the last year, I've talked with a lot of Shopify store owners, from small businesses to growing DTC brands.

One thing I noticed was that many merchants wanted to offer subscriptions, but the process often felt either too complicated, too expensive, or both.

Some subscription apps needed help from developers to set up. Others charged hundreds of dollars per month for features that many stores couldn't afford. Due to this, some merchants decided not to offer subscriptions at all, even when their customers were asking for them.

That's what led me to build a Shopify Subscription App, focused on being simple, easy to set up, and affordable.

I'm not here to promote the app. I'd genuinely like to hear about your experience.

If you run a Shopify store:

  • Have you ever tried offering subscriptions? If so, what challenges did you face?
  • If you've decided not to offer subscriptions, what stopped you?
  • What's the one thing you think a subscription app should do really well?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and learn from your experience.

Why do so many Shopify subscription apps still charge transaction fees?

I was looking at subscription apps recently and started doing the actual math on transaction fees.

At first, 1% or 1.5% doesn't sound like much. But once a store starts getting a few hundred subscription orders every month, it adds up pretty fast.

I'm curious how other merchants think about it.

Would you rather:

  • Pay a higher monthly fee and keep all your revenue
  • Pay a lower monthly fee but give up a percentage of subscription sales

For those already running subscriptions:

  • Which app are you using?
  • Have transaction fees ever made you switch apps?
  • What's the one feature you can't live without?

I'm genuinely interested because it seems like most conversations focus on features, but the pricing model can have a huge impact as stores grow.
