Apartment decision

For someone that prioritizes safety and cleanliness , what would you Columbus natives select out of the following - and I’m talking like when people talk about this apartment they go on and on about the safety and cleanliness : colony club, the view on fifth, bent tree Dublin, Times Square Dublin, the edge edge hill rd, Hilliard village , cortland Dublin . And if there’s some in this list I should immediately cross list which and why I want reasons and elaborations on I guess all in the list any and all help yall can offer is very much appreciated!!! Thank yall in advance — edit please note if any of these are notorious for break ins, car jacking , roach and mice infestations , black mold , etc

OSU Workday - HireVue

Does anyone happen to know an estimation of how many applicants move forward to the “under consideration “ HireVue invite phase. I’ve been applying in research, and was wondering if a position got like 110 applicants what percent do you guys estimate moved towards getting a HireVue link and put “under consideration “ just trying to gauge how long this whole process will typically take 😅

Under Consideration Workday

Does anyone know the typical time length it takes from when you send a HireVue interview to hearing back about a second interview ? What about from when a job is posted to the actual start date how many weeks (or seemingly months) does OSU usually take. I’m under consideration for like 3 positions and it’s going on to almost a month of that

Job Search Tough Time

Hi all please give me some advice as I am in quite the most miserable cycle of my life … EVER I’d say. So my plan is to attend medical school but I have a gap year or maybe two that I REALLLYYY wanted to spend doing clinic research. I got my bachelors degree in December and since then was just working as a sub, before that I was working as a clinical research assistant within my university for about a year but eventually had to leave after I graduated as a med student was coming in and I wasn’t a student anymore . Needless to say, I fell in love with clinical research: being challenged daily, learning something new daily, being around incredibly brilliant minds and people ten times smarter than me, I got a thrill I’ve never had before from any other job. Now, I am aware this market has taken a huge hit due to major funding cuts so I understand it’s gonna be hard to find a job in this field but never did I think it would be THIS hard. I’ve interviewed for positions out of state that I’m waiting to hear back on but for the moment I had to settle for a high school diploma qualifying job at an eye surgery clinic and feel incredibly glum, miserable and just not using my intellect to its max level. I’m really hoping I hear back from those positions this month cause I’ve applied relentlessly to so many places and they either say no positions or no funding . I was even so so close at one point to getting picked but they ultimately picked a senior candidate for an advertised entry level position. Any advice on how to move on from this mental block/rut of misery?

Victoria Secret Celebration

One of the best perfumes I’ve ever smelled in my life with great longevity was Victoria’s Secret bombshell celebration perfume which was limited edition that I bought back in 2022 it is now discontinued. Does anyone have a dupe so similar to the scent?

Clinical Research Assistant Oncology

For the oncology research assistants out there what do you typically do day to day ? I had an interview for a role and read through the duties but I want to hear from people themselves that have done this — do you get really bored with what you do

Gap year panic

Hi everyone, I’m kind of freaking out?? Lol. I got my bachelors in December and have been working as a sub at a school for like the last 5 months. With my degree, I’ve been trying very hard and searching like CRAZYYY for an actual gap year job- I got so close once, interviewed for a CRC position then ofc… they handed it to a candidate with like 5 years experience … lol. I’ve been an opto tech, pharm tech, med assistant, shadowed, have clinical research and chemistry education research experience, tutored, taught. Strong gpa. MCAT is in September - not worried about it I’m good in that department. But my panic is, I’ve been scrambling hard to find a job cause once that MCAT is done… what the hell else am I gonna do? I really want clinical research again, and recently had an interview for an out of state position so waiting on that… but if I don’t get that then idk what to do. I’d prefer a job that requires a bachelors but it seems like that’s impossible to achieve rn. I emailed over like 200 people through my university and it’s hospital to find clinical research assisting and they’re either not paying or have no opening. I’d hate to go back to a retail position during this time off cause then I’m just gonna feel bummy and unproductive my goal is CR- but it’s been harder than ever to get it. Any advice ?? Words of wisdom !!??

Best Disney Channel Dad ?

I have to give this one to Bob Duncan, he was always there to listen to his kids issues and gave very good advice that I actually even think of in my adult life . Specifically when it comes to PJ letting Skylar go, “if you love something, set it free, it it comes back to you, it’s yours and if it doesn’t , it never was.” He was very overprotective towards Teddy with driving and incredibly supportive of all his kids accomplishments whether it was PJ going to the chicken university or teddy going to Yale - he celebrated it all. Even when PJ dropped out of college I don’t think he blew up on him, he supported PJ figuring something out and uplifted his cooking skills all the time. All around great guy! Who do yall pick ?

Gap year job dilemma

Hey yall, could use some help from med students or doctors. I’m kind of in a limbo rn, I have a gap year upcoming and in a frenzy between what job to commit to. I have a pretty decent intervention teacher/sub job offer at a K-8 school which I’m sure will be fun and all but I really really miss clinical research and due to NIH funding it’s been pretty tough to find something in it, but I’m still working hard to do so. For that teaching job I have til like Friday to decide lol?? But my thing is if I say yes to them they make me sign a contract which states I can only leave with 0 legal repercussions as long as I let them know 6 weeks in advance ?? Well the issue is I’ve been having meetings and interviews for some research stuff including some out of state options, bc research is what my heart wants to pursue during this time off but I’m kind of looking at that teaching position as like some financial security in case :

A) I say yes to the teaching but get somehow a research position a few months in and can’t leave cause of that contract

B) I don’t say yes to the teaching at all but continue looking for research - my worry is even after all the interviewing and searching the possibility of finding nothing in the end and now not only having no research job but no teaching job too and still being unemployed

I’ve had an inconsistent subbing job for like the last 3 months and I’m pretty sick of being basically unemployed, so …. Yeah idk what to do— can some more experienced folk help me out here 😅😅

Should’ve added my MCAT is scheduled for September but I’m not too worried if one gap year becomes 2, I just NEED. A JOB RN LOL!!

Med school gap year blues

Hi all, I’m kind of in a rut. I graduated college in December with biology and throughout college I was so productive, full time student, medical assistant, education research , clinical research, eye tech, pharm tech, shadowing in hospitals, etc and I loved it all. But post grad, now that I’m looking to lock down a full time position I’ve been really struggling lol. I’m prepping for my MCAT but also have to take a gap year so I’ve been trying to find a job, I’ve had interviews for CRC but they always end up picking someone who’s already had experience in it, I’ve applied to over 100 research jobs (clinical), connected with former doctors I’ve worked with to see if they could help me land something, I’ve gotten offers as a teacher but the more I thought about it it’s way too much work to be a full time teacher, I’ve been applying for CRC out of state but the application and interview to actual start date takes 2-4 months , and getting chosen isn’t guaranteed considering I have one year clinical research experience as a student assistant during undergrad. I’m getting very frustrated being unemployed and sure I could go back and be a medical assistant but it’s just not what I want to do before I go back to school. I really wanted something in research and it’s been tough to get. I spend hours applying to positions and I’m quite burned out :/ anyone else had these post grad blues ? I got an offer as an intervention teacher and sub and I might accept that honestly and move on but if a CRC position accepts me during the school year I’ll leave the teaching for that- we’ll see though please guys just share any advice or similar situations you’ve gone through I’m feeling exhausted .
