Baler, a lowkey gay paradise

I've been going to Baler alone for many years now. And Im on my way back home from there. I've loved that place as it is the only place I can go and relax without breaking my bank, as long as I know where to go. I've spoken the dialect too. Akkaw! Are! De naman masyado ai.

How did I even start going there? My friend, who is a wlw, asked us to go there. She dated one in our friend group. They broke up, but she dated 2 more women locally in Baler. She has more wlw relatives actually. Our other friend, another wlw, even dated a girl from there, but didnt last. I had my fair share of dates and hookups from locals there during my paminta days. Local gay men are really something tbh hahahaha. My 2nd time visiting, I was able to watch a Miss Gay there.

I went there during the weekend, and Im surprised how many gay men who are obviously not locals are there too, vacationing. Their vibe are those usually who parties in Elyu, not chilling in Baler. I dont usually see them when I go there.

Interactions with locals are interesting. In the transient I was staying in, the owner's son had a group of friends over. They were of different genders/sexualities. A few straight men and women, plus a gay man, a crossdressing man, and a bisexual woman in a wlw relationship. Also, I only got misgendered once here, but I wore more masculine clothes that time. 2 drunk local men even talked to me, may be thinking I was an afam girl. Surfer dudes NEVER catcalled me. Surfer dudes in Elyu were more aggressive with women, especially afam women when drinking in Flotsam and Jetsam. Not queer related, but the tricycle driver I hire never once tried to get my things while I was swimming and left them in the cottage.

Did I mention they also had a Pride celebration last month? Just search "Pride Month Baler" for the event. Pride flags are also placed in some bars.

It may not have a very loud LGBTQ vibe like Elyu with drag bars like Hara, and awrahan vibe like Flotsam and Jetsam, but I feel safe as a member of the LGBTQ community there.

Whats your positive BPO story?

We always hear BPO horror stories here, yet we never really got to hear positive ones here. Now lets hear them out.

Mine is because of working there, I got the chance to own a condo unit even as an agent back in 2019. Pandemic stalled my move, but late 2021 I finally got to move in my very own place. I really had to adjust my finances for it, but it taught me how to save money. So worth it.

Video game gay icons

- Street Fighter - Chun Li

- Tekken - Anna Williams

- Mortal Kombat - Kitana at Mileena

- Darkstalkers - Morrigan

- KOF - Athena at Mai Shiranui

Productivity = Ngarag ba dapat?

I have noticed in general regardless of what career you are, if may nakakita sayong talangkang coworker na petiks, aakusahan ka nyang di ginagawa trabaho.

Di sa pagmamayabang, pero even without AI, kaya ko gampanan work ko na namemeet ang deadlines padin. With AI, lalong napapabilis work ko. (AI isn't evil. It's how we use AI that determines it. I'm not here to get accused of ruining the environment or replacing people. Not the time to talk about it). My former TL also taught me how to work smart.

Now, pag natapos work ko on time, ang mga mata nakatingin na sakin. Gusto ba nila makita ako haggard at ngarag lagi?

Kayo, para ba matawag na productive, dapat ba ngarag lagi at mukhang haggard?

Girls, who was your gay awakening?

Sa mga beks, common ung Q and A na to, pero di masyado sa mga sisters/brothers nating shombits. Marami din akong friends and family na mga lesbian/bisexual and usually, mga girls who have masculine energy like Mikee Cojuangco, Gillian Anderson, etc.

Kayo naman, sino ang gay awakening nyo? Lesbian/bisexual women, its your time to shine!

My bf got promoted!

I just want to celebrate his success. He now got promoted as a Team Lead, which I know he truly deserves. This may even help us finally be together and start our lives together. I'm so proud of him!

People assume I molest my younger brother

TW: SA

My younger brother and I have a huge age gap. I came out in my early teens before he was born. I don't really have a close relationship with him because of the age gap and I kinda was not happy with being a babysitter for him at times, but that's a whole issue for another day with my mom. I do adore him and miss him as I live away from my family now. He's also in his 20s now.

When I was in my 20s, he was in elementary school, and I was also still living with my parents. I started working, and of course I met people. I also told them bits about my life. When I tell them I have a little brother who is still in elementary school, they would say "Baka naman chinachansing mo kapatid mo ah.". Like why would I do that? I like older men, not kids. I'm not a pedophile. And that's my brother. I never even touched him inappropriately. That's because I like men, I like kids too? Absurd. Yeah said even by people I was close to as well.

I don't know why people think that about me when I experienced being molested myself by older kids when I was in kindergarten until elementary school. I never did that to my brother as I wouldnt want the effects of being molested affect his growth. People always assume the worst in queer people.

Happy Pride, mga bading!

5'6-5'9 girlies, do you ever feel like you're too tall for some men?

I'm 5'7, and I live in Southeast Asia, where the average height for a male is 5'6. I know I'm not very tall, but I still stick out like a sore thumb when near most men. Even more when with women.

In dating, I find more men in the West more attracted to me than men in my country. A factor there is my height. Men in the West don't really care for my height. For most men here, I see they find me too tall, even from men my height or taller. Petite (5'3 below) is the more desirable. Petite trans women get more dates than me with local men.

I have a bf who is 5'11, so he may not care about my height. But I wonder if its the same for many girlies around the same height as me if some men find you too tall. Or is it just something more prevalent in the East?

Kaso madaling nasira at nabutas. Bumili ako sa Tiktok twice na magkaiba. Ung isa dun Yasmine.

Belting with age

I'm 36 already, and belting was kinda easier when I was 32-34. Now I have a hard time belting. I kinda stopped singing songs by the Holy Trinity even if they're my fave in favor of more relaxed songs like TLC, Spice Girls, etc. Although I can still sing Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.

Does anyone aged 35 above experience this?
