Grant Afseth will no longer be covering the Dallas Wings. He was receiving online hate and threats to his family from Paige/Azzi/Wings fans because of an article he posted complimenting Arike's season.
For context, Grant covered the Wings from his own pocket and had some of the best coverage on the beat of the team. He also covers the Mavs, Cowboys, and Rangers and said he has never received threats and harassment like this.

I'm a fan of yours, Stephanie. I was over-the-moon ecstatic when you joined the Fever, and want this team to have dynastic success under your leadership as head coach.
I will admit that upon seeing the post-game interviews for the Fever-Sky game, for the 1st time, I made a negative comment and felt you mishandled the interview. It seemed like you preferred to ignore what had been done and wanted to keep the peace with people who have a target on some of our player's backs, rather than call them out.
My apologies for thinking and doing that, I should have kept in mind that you may not have gotten to see the event properly. Hope you understand why... it's because some of the girls on our team come under such crazy fire on the internet from so many different angles, even when they have done no wrong or when wrong things are done to them (Caitlin and Sophie, in particular).
Just be aware that the divisiveness and fear-mongering comes from 2 sides, and not just 1 side. The 2nd side is not being publicly called out enough.
Anyway, I apologize for doubting you, and have your back fully. Let's go Steph! Let's go Fever! ❤️

A cursory glance at the box-score for the last game against the Aces reveals a troublesome trend with Field Goal Attempts.
#1: Total FGA made in the game:
The Fever and Aces had 21 and 16 turnovers respectively. So even taking into account the 5 extra turnovers the Fever gave away does not account for the Aces having 14 FGA more (or 21% more) than the Fever.
I have rarely seen games where the Fever generated 10 or more FGA than their opponents.
Anyway, the main troubling trend is below. 👇
#2: FGA by players other than the Top 3 players:
Top 3 used here is CC, KM, AB for the Fever... and A'ja, Jackie, Chelsea for the Aces.
#3: Talbot had the same FGA as Sophie, Lexie, Tyasha:
Stephanie Talbot had 4 FGA... the same as Sophie, Lexie and Tyasha together.
Yet Talbot only played 10 minutes... while Sophie, Lexie and Tyasha played 57 minutes!
What's the solution?
This strategy or way of playing is not how you prepare a team to win the tougher matches against better teams. The others need to be getting more and better opportunities to contribute through the whole team playing good team-basketball. The whole team needs to focus on creating the best opportunities for anyone to score. That's how you win a 5-game series, and not just the odd game. Otherwise, when opponents neutralize one of the "Big 3" or if one of the "Big 3" is having an off-night, the others won't be ready to step up consistently.

I think the Fever would have the 6th best record if Leonie Fiebich had been available for more of the Liberty's games. They are a different team with her defense on the court.
The defense needs to improve solidly for the Fever to have a chance at the title.
