Sophie Cunningham revealed that people inside the Mercury don't like their own team, and that this year's team is the unfriendliest group.

I saw this today and want to ask if this is true? Does anyone know? And do you think this could have something to do with Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner? They don't seem like the friendliest or nicest people from afar.

WNBA Countdown's damage control segment for Alyssa Thomas trying to physically intimidate and bully Caitlin Clark.

It has been a week since this event happened but I need to get this off my chest.

I just saw this WNBA Countdown segment featuring Chiney Ogwumike, which seemed more like a damage control segment by them than anything else. They purposely downplayed what Alyssa Thomas did with their words, tried to make it seem like Caitlin had this coming to her because of "embellishing", and even included Sydney Colson to help sell it better as an ex-Fever player from last year's roster. All of it is disgusting, and so I have to call this out.

First, what in the fekkity fekk was that nonsense Chiney said about Caitlin sometimes embellishing? Is she implying that Caitlin deserved this? This is the president of the player's union, revealing her explicit bias for the old guard... and especially to protect some black players (some, not all) who have been acting out against Caitlin because they are jealous of Caitlin's talent and greatness. She is supposed to try and put an end to this kind of behavior, not protect it. This bias and lack of integrity makes me question Chiney's suitability for her role as President of the Player's Union.

Even the introduction to this segment revealed their bias through their choice of words. They said, and I quote:

"Alyssa Thomas was suspended after her fist made contact with Clark's throat".

No... Alyssa Thomas was suspended for shoving her fist into Clark's throat, after kneeing her in the groin, and then trying to further intimidate her while she was on the ground. Be honest... and tell it like it was.

Then from the video highlight, they cut out the part at the end, where Alyssa steps over her, because this portion properly shows how scared Caitlin was because of the intimidation and physicality directed at her by Alyssa.

The statements from the Mercury Coach, Nate Tibbetts, have also been disgusting. Instead of owning what his player did, he is very slyly attempting to deflect and shift.

Damage control and protecting the perpetrators at its finest. None of this is okay because it allows the perpetrators to think they can get away with doing this again.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Y'all think you're smart... but we see what you are doing. 🧐

And you, Sydney Colson? You didn't have the balls to call out Alyssa properly as well, even though you were a member of our roster and were treated so well by Caitlin and everyone else here.

All of it is disgusting! 👎

Leonie Fiebich - Fever need her like the desert needs the rain

Leonie is under contract for 1 more season with the Liberty. When her contract expires at the end of 2027, she will enter the market as a Restricted Free Agent (RFA). The Fever absolutely need to make the biggest possible play to get her.

Leonie is 6'4" and the best switchable defender in the whole WNBA... while also having good skills on offense (dribbling, passing, slashing, off-ball movement, etc), and is also a good three-point shooter from the corner. She has levels to unlock on offense, which should happen on the Fever where she will have a bigger role on offense. The Liberty is using her primarily as their defensive stopper.

Leonie Fiebich Highlights vs the Sun - 14 PTS, 1 BLK, 3 AST, 5 REB, 71% FG

The maximum salary an outside team can put on an offer sheet to Leonie is the league’s Regular Maximum Salary, which is projected to sit around $1,190,000 under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. That would be a very well spent $1,190,000.

2028 Fever: Caitlin/Raven, Shooting Guard, Lexie/Sophie, Leonie, Aliyah

Just looking ahead and posting a pre-answer to the test for whoever is the Fever GM at that time. 😄

Prisoner Of The Moment Trade Request (Raquel Carrera, Sydney Taylor)

I know, I know... I'm being a prisoner of the moment... but I really want Raquel Carerra and Sydney Taylor.

Why? Because I think they would give the squad a lot more balance overall.

  1. Raquel is a smart, team-basketball player with hustle. She can play either PF next to Aliyah, or at Center next to Billings.
  2. Sydney had a great scoring game against the Fever, and also against the Tempo and Mystics. We could use a scorer like her off the bench (if she can perform like this consistently)?

My question is, can the Fever get both while keeping all players listed below? Anybody not listed below is fair game, and the Fever can give up Picks too.

  • G: Caitlin, Raven
  • G: Kelsey, Sydney
  • F: Lexie, Sophie, Justine
  • F: Billings, Myisha?
  • C: Aliyah, Raquel

Offensive vs Defensive Shot Quality (As Of June 11, 2026)

Looks like the Fever rank:

  • 3rd out of 15 in Offensive Shot Quality
  • 10th out of 15 in Defensive Shot Quality

I wonder what could be done to address the weakness of not forcing tougher looks for opponents? Perhaps, replacing the weakest defensive player from the starting 5 could probably make the biggest difference? Wonder who that could be. 🤔

Atrocious Refereeing with Video Proof! (Fever vs Mystics, June 8th)

Throughout the third quarter, Caitlin had to battle through constant hand-checking but the referees barely called any of these fouls. We are in the year 2026, not 2004 when hand-checking was allowed? On the other hand, they called ghost fouls on Caitlin and other Fever players. This crap has got to stop. How are referees who call games like this even allowed to have a job refereeing in the WNBA?

Notes:

  • The intro is long. The highlights start from 1:57 into the video.
  • The main reason for sharing this video is so all WNBA fans can see how bad the referees are.
  • This is not inconsistent refereeing, this is corrupt refereeing, in my humble opinion.
  • Full credit to the maker of this video (ESPBen on Youtube). I am not connected with him or his channel in any way. Merely mentioning him to give credit to the creator.

🚫 Hey, hey! Ho, ho! Bad referees gotta go! 🚫

Nikolina Milic is available! Perfect Damiris Dantas replacement

Dear Amber and Kelly, Nikolina Milic has been waived by the Tempo. Please waive Dantas and get Nikolina, before another team beats you to it. Nikolina was also on the same minimum salary that Dantas is on.

  • G: Caitlin, Tyasha
  • G: Raven, Kelsey, Bree (Dev)
  • F: Lexie, Sophie, Justine (Dev)
  • F: Billings, Timpson, VanSlooten
  • C: Aliyah, Nikolina, Myisha

Please and thank you!

Then all this roster will need is a quality and young two-way Shooting Guard to be a replacement for Kelsey Mitchell (someone like Leila Lacan).

Trade Idea: Alanna Smith to the Fever

USAToday has this article on "5 WNBA trade ideas after May 2026". It proposes Alanna Smith to Fever. I don't think their proposal will work under the salary cap. So here is my stab at a deal that works.

The deal would have to look something like:

  • Wings get Kelsey Mitchell and Grace VanSlooten, A Pick (?)
  • Fever get Alanna Smith and Aziaha James

The Squad!

  • 1-5: Caitlin, Raven, Lexie, Alanna, Aliyah,
  • 6-10: Tyasha, Aziaha, Sophie, Timpson, Billings
  • 11-12: Myisha, Dantas
  • Development: Justine, Bree Hall

I would gladly trade Kelsey Mitchell for Alanna Smith because this is a championship winning roster, IMHO.

Article Trade Suggestion Below.

>TRADE: Alanna Smith to the Fever in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, F Makayla Timpson.

>While the Dallas Wings are thriving this season under new head coach Jose Fernandez, Smith is not meshing with her new team nearly as well. While she's had some health setbacks over the course of the season, Dallas signed her to a massive three-year deal to stand as the star of its front-court. That hasn't happened yet. While it's obviously too early for the Wings to call this a bad contract, you do wonder if the right trade offer would ease Dallas out of this deal.

>The Indiana Fever desperately need a player of Smith's caliber on the roster, someone whose lock-down defense is sorely missed with a Fever team under-performing on that side of the ball so far. The Fever are squarely in win-now mode, while the Wings can probably breathe a little easier on 2026 expectations. It'd take a big haul for Dallas to give up on Smith so quickly, but we could see the Fever making them an offer they couldn't refuse. Indy would have to do some cap work to make Smith's deal fit long-term, but the reward could be immense for the Fever.

ESPN Article - Caitlin Clark, Chelsea Gray, and the WNBA's best playmakers

"As the league celebrates its 30th anniversary this season, ESPN will be reflecting on the past three decades. We begin by ranking the 10 most dynamic playmakers we've seen in the WNBA. This isn't just a list of all-time assist leaders. It's a subjective ranking of players fans didn't (or still don't) want to take their eyes off because of the magic they might make next.

The top 10 includes a player who thrilled fans in the WNBA's inaugural season in 1997 and a player who wasn't born then."
