F1 cars

Hello, my bf is a huge F1 fan and we will be coming to Monaco for 1/2 of a day then heading onto Eze after on Sep 24. I wanted to surprise with a cool driving experience. Either one around Monaco for a little bit, if more preferably to be able to drive a cool car one way from Monaco to Eze. Any companies that do this?

Travel cam recommendations

• Budget: $800 USD • Country: USA • Condition: doesn’t matter • Type of Camera: Digital • Intended use: Travel, all climate, day and night • If photography; what style: Nature, people • If video what style: Short films • What features do you absolutely need: Non washed out colors, handheld • Portability: PREFERRED • Cameras you're considering: don’t know • Cameras you already have: Nikon Coolpix E300, Canon EOS 70D • Notes: pls help

Hello! I would like to get a new, small sized digital camera for traveling. Currently i have a Nikon CoolPix from 2011 so wanting something that size but maybe a bit better quality/newer. My Nikon also seems to wash out colors and some photos come out too dark on a cloudy day. I also have a large canon camera but it’s too heavy and bulky for everyday use around Europe.

I was looking at some Fuji films because i like a lot of pics I’ve seen from those with the warmth and pretty colors but the ones i liked are like $1,500 which is too much money.

Any suggestions?? I’m definitely a beginner but willing to learn a bit

Onitsuka Tigers / ballet flats

Hey,

Probably a question for the girlies. I am going to Europe for 2 months and want some cute but comfy ballet flat type shoes for walking around almost all day. Does anyone own either of these and can tell me how comfy they are and how many steps they can take in a day. If anyone has any other comfy ballet flat type of shoe recommendations (like for dresses, skirts, etc) please lmk!!

I was also looking at the TAOs ballet flats bc i like their sandals…anyone tried those?

Open to any and all suggestions 🙏🏼

Leaving NYC

I’ve been living in NYC for the past year and next week i move out because I’m going on a two month trip that i don’t want to pay NYC rent during, my lease ended, and i miss my family a lot so am going to live with them until around January to save money and then hopefully will have things more figured out by then.

I have wanted to live in NYC my whole life but there were so many parts of it that felt like it wasn’t for me. The crazy winter we just had and the heat waves in summer makes some days feel so defeating when you’re always exposed to the elements. Also just the chaos of the city bc i feel like as i get older more and more things are so overwhelming to me. I think I want more of a peaceful life. I also don’t have many friends here so i feel like i couldn’t enjoy it as much as other people i see around with groups of friends. I also have a senior dog that has always had lots of green space and a backyard so i never want to limit his quality of life for mine bc he’s been with me through everything and ik stress is the worst thing for an old dog so bc of that it’s hard to find a great place to live in NYC that meets all of the things I want him to have.

With that being said, NYC is one of the best places on earth. There’s nothing like the feeling of walking through its beautiful neighborhoods and really feeling apart of the culture and beauty of the city. I feel like it’s a place i don’t really love when living here but after leaving i will always regret leaving it and see it in my mind through rose colored glasses. And I hate having regrets in life.

I have no clue where else to go. My family is from Indiana and they’re my whole world…but it’s Indiana…I went to college in Florida (in one of its liberal zones, thank god) and really liked it but idk, i just think i want to be closer to family as i get older and Indiana is one of the only places where i do have a lot of friends still, but i also never want to limit myself to boring places (sadly, like Indiana) as I am still in my 20s. I’m so conflicted right now and have no clue where to go. I also work remote so really I can go anywhere. I feel like I’ve been on the run for like 8 years now moving from place to place and it’s kind of getting tiring. Has anyone else felt this way or have stories/advice about how much they like where they are living? I’m starting to feel like it really is just about the people and not the places, but Indiana has always just felt a little depressing to me. I have no clue what to do.

Doggie toothpaste questions

Hello,

I have a 13 year old toy poodle whom i do not want to go under anesthesia for teeth cleaning again.

I have been using Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Dog Toothpaste and before that we used Petsmile Professional Pet Toothpaste. I’m not exactly in love with either of them and wanted to know if they were good and safe for my dog?

I brush everyday and feel like they’re still collecting tartar.

I see a lot of people boast about using coconut oil to clean their dog’s teeth..would this be better?

Anxiety is often caused by modern life evolving faster than our nervous systems did

Unpopular opinion/discussion post. Wanted to open up a discussion on this topic as I’ve been thinking a lot about it lately and wondered if anyone has had similar thoughts or done any research on the topic.

Important caveat first: I’m not saying anxiety isn’t real or that everyone’s situation is the same. I have severe anxiety myself, which is part of why I think about this a lot.

My take is that for many people, things like beta blockers have become necessary because humans have never had to adapt this fast. Screens, social media replacing real community, constant digital stimulation all while our nervous systems are still wired for a completely different way of living. Think about how different daily life is compared to even 100-200 years ago, let alone 500. The adrenaline spikes that once kept us alive are now being triggered constantly by things like notifications, social comparison, and world news being so accessible.

Animals don’t experience lifestyle changes at this speed. And i think some people are simply more sensitive to the mismatch than others and that’s not a personal failing, it’s a design flaw in the world we’ve built. Our modern systems weren’t designed with our minds, bodies, or mental health in mind.

Questions about apartments

Hello everyone!! I’d like to start out by saying i am from FL and went to UF but have lived in NYC for the past year. I now want to return to Florida for the weather and lower cost of living than in NYC. I want to make St Pete work bc of the walkability I’ve seen on here, younger demographic than other FL cities, and of course the left leaning politics.

My question: I’m struggling to find a nice apartment under $4k near downtown for the walkability and community-feel aspect (ik ik another person on here telling people that live there now about the high rent cost which you all are already very aware of). Are there any other areas you would suggest outside of downtown and why? I want to stay out of a flood zone but I’m actually super open to outside of downtown bc i have a dog that i want to have plenty of green space (the complexes I’ve lived in FL have had lakes with a walking trail around them or have been on the first floor with mini yards so i have easy access to letting him out into some grass) are there any complexes like this in a nice area that come to mind?? Looking for some hidden gems. We want to stay under ~$2.5K for a 2 bedroom in a nice complex with (preferably luxury style) amenities or in a new build - is this even possible? What complexes do you guys suggest from experience?

Thank you so much in advance 🙏🏼

Another thing ruined by AI

Pinterest used to be the best and only place i could go to get real life inspo for things (haircut, outfit, manicure, house update). I’ve noticed all the AI on niche queries like “screened in porch with hot tub” and been like ah that sucks but understandable bc it’s so specific so there probably isn’t real life posts on this. Now…..i just searched “haircut” for inspo ITS ALL AI!? How tf do i pick a haircut based on made up hair?? It’s so crazy the high ups at Pinterest either weren’t prepared for AI or just don’t care. I’ve used Pinterest since the Wanelo and iPod touch days but now it’s completely ruined, what a shame

The Chicago World Fair 1893 buildings and prices

The event took place for six months, took place around wooded island in Chicago and cost $25 million dollars (worth roughly $843 million to over $1 billion in 2026, depending on the index used). There were displays showing advancements and inventions such as the first Ferris wheel, a moving walkway, an early zipper, and dishwashers. Pabst blue ribbon beer won awards there and thus got its name, juicy fruit gum, and Aunt Jemima pancake mix all debuted. Milton S Hersey was said to have been inspired to start the Hersey chocolate business after seeing the German chocolate stands. It also had several international displays such as the streets of Cairo (kinda like a more authentic Disney’s Epcot on steroids…wonder if they got the idea from world fairs). Love learning about this event. Book was purchased for $1 at my grandmother’s antique store.
