On Becoming an Instructor: British Mindfulness Institute vs British School of Meditation

Can anyone vouch for either of these courses/have first hand experience doing the meditation instructor course, or offer any alternative options?

I have also looked at longer term options such as the 12 month course with Oxford Mindfulness Foundation, which is double the price. Not within my budget currently but if something like this is a worthwhile investment for my needs I would consider saving. Any insights on the value of something longer term and more comprehensive would also be much appreciated from anyone with experience

I am looking to do an online course, to the UK is not necessarily the only option. Accreditation recognised throughout Europe would be desired

Thank you

XS Earbuds Tips Compatible with Soundcore P20i?

The small size that comes with the earphones are too large for my ears. Anywhere I can find cheap replacement tips that are compatible with the earphones for tiny ears?

What I have seen so far are brands selling a bundle of various sized tips for practically the same price I spent on the earphones. I don't need many, just a pair of XS, if that is possible to get.

Thank you all

Moving Abroad and Leaving Car Home - Insurance, Motor Tax etc.

What are the order of steps to take?

I am moving away and potentially selling my car in the near future but for the moment it is staying at family home

Shall I cancel my car insurance first, returning my disc and certificate, prior to leaving (which is tomorrow), and then fill out Form RF120 online for a motor tax refund after that? (I still have 5 months of unexpired motor tax). Or apply for refund now and cancel policy tomorrow?

Does the Form RF120 need stamp by Gardai to be processed?

Is there anything else that needs to be done not mentioned above? Thank you

Police Certificate vs. Subject Access Request (Form F20) for Employer?

My employer in the UK requested the former but my purpose for obtaining such has been denied by my local office, and I have been redirected to apply for a SAR form. Is there any way of obtaining a Police Certificate for employment in the UK, and if not, is the Subject Access from the Data Protection Agency sufficient in obtaining a criminal record check? Many thanks

Bring Car to England

I hear that you can legally drive Irish car in UK for up to six months. I have a few questions

  1. My insurance only covers up to 90 days (KennCo) - is there possibility to get extension with them or switch provider? I am still in first year of driving and would like to stick with same for one year if possible

  2. If I am unsure of duration of my stay, what is the procedure regarding notifying insurance prior to leaving? Can I state I am going for less than 90 days (or six months if it is in any way possible to be insured on that basis), and during that time see if I am staying longer and inform later down the line once I know? Or if it is likely I am staying longer, do I need to import the car at the beginning?

Importing Car to UK

If I am moving to UK to take up a work contract, do I need to import the car if staying under 6 months?

I am unsure of my long term plan, whether I will be staying longer, but I have read that if you take up work locally, you officially establish UK residency and you are technically expected to register your car with the DVLA almost immediately

Also, my insurance provider only covers up to three months abroad. Is it possible to get temporary cover from a UK provider or a policy extension from my Irish provider for another (up to) three months if I end up staying less than 6 months?

Any help would be appreciated

Camper Van as a Mobile Drum Kit Practice Space?

Any Citroen Berlingo variations or other types that would accommodate a small drum kit set up inside (that would also double up as a remote workspace)? Just for myself and would want something not too big as it's my first van conversion and want to be as economical as possible with space

Eligibility for Social Housing List

If moving to UK for a fixed term work contract and already on social housing list in Ireland, would I be deemed ineligible to remain on the list and need to start process again upon returning?

  1. Is it okay to sign off JA the day after starting work (if starting work Monday and can only pick up final payment on Tuesday before signing off)

  2. How quickly can Supplementary Welfare Allowance be received if applied for when signing off? (only needed for 1-2 weeks as new job is weekly)

I am in the process of securing a new job, a temporary 6 month contract with the potential of longer.

We are in negotiation stage and I have yet to accept, and I was due to take on a work contract for 5 weeks abroad in three months time.

This 5 week contract is with an organisation I deeply value and have a strong relationship with and future prospects, and to cancel the contract may risk no further work with them.

However, this new work opportunity is also much needed based on my immediate circumstances and needing to generate an income now, so if push came to shove, I would cancel the 5 month contract if there was a risk to bringing it up with my new employer.

I know it is a big ask in light of the duration and not having started the position yet. An option B that might be possible would be to reduce the 5 week contract to 2 or 3 weeks and request that instead.

Overall, I really don't want to risk this current job offer, so I would choose not to bring it up at all if it may risk retraction. But I am leaning towards openly and honestly disclosing it, and saying from the get-go that I know it is a big ask and if it is not possible I will not proceed with it.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.
