[Loved Trope] Robots in 1980’s movies that aren’t sci-fi movies.

  1. Otto Lipton in High School U.S.A. (1983), played by Todd Bridges working on his robot in the shop of this made-for-TV teen comedy.

  2. Lewis and Gilbert (Robert Carradine and Anthony Edwards) in front of their robot, planning how they’re going to get housing in Revenge of the Nerds (1984).

  3. Burt Young playing Paulie in Rocky IV(1985), being served by the robot love of his life.

[TOMT] [YouTube Video] An online comedy troupe around 2010 with a video about “best friends”

I can’t remember the name of the group but it was at least 2 white guys. The one funny video I remember was a montage of the two guys living as roommates. At one point one of the guys is complaining they were out of milk and the other guy opens the door holding several jugs of milk and goes “OOPS?!?”

On another part one of the guys talks to someone on the phone and loudly goes “What’s up GRAND-ma?!?”

And at some point in the montage there’s a very quick clip of an extreme closeup of the two guys shoulder to shoulder and one of them goes “Ow my dick!”.

What video was this and what was the comedy group called? I think they had a round logo with an animal in it, maybe a chicken? I also think they were American.

What are these seeds that came in a toy ordered online?

My son got this for my wife for Mother’s Day and these oily seeds were loose in the box. They smell like sunflower seeds. There is nothing in the description that says it comes with flower seeds (I double checked since it is bee themed, I thought maybe it’s supposed to come with something for pollinators).

Call me paranoid but with this coming from China and there being noxious plant seed packets being mailed to random people in the USA, should I contact the USDA? I know they have a smuggling and interdiction and trade compliance program for investigating the seed packets.

Mods, delete this if it’s not allowed but I just read a news article from the Seattle NBC affiliate about a “n affluent neighborhood in Seattle (Laurelhurst, not Queen Anne) wishing to restrict helicopter use to the Seattle Children’s Hospital over noise complaints.

https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/seattle-childrens-laurelhurst-noise-concerns-burdens-lifesaving-care/281-6137dafc-308c-4cbe-9722-dc1a0ef6b4c2

Matt lives in the region and I was wondering if he was familiar with the situation and if he is sympathetic to the kids at the hospital, would he issue a statement in support of the hospital? I was just thinking his influence could get even more attention to this situation.

Like I said, delete if not allowed. After reading all the DCC books twice and OBH I feel like a rich neighborhood wanting to enact something that limits help for sick kids, for their own comfort, is the kind of shit the villains in his books would do.

This is a variant cover that pays homage to Halloween but is not indicative of the storyline or plot. This cover goes hard tho.
