How Easy Is It for You to Understand Related Languages?

For an example, how much do you understand Kyrgyz or Tatar as a Kazakh or vice versa? Pashtun as a Tajik?

And how familiar are you with those languages? I have been told Turkish shows are fairly popular in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (and maybe Kazakhstan too?) which means they have some experience with understanding Turkish. Would you agree that is a big factor?

Is There a Palace of the Beylik of Titteri?

From what I gather, the Regency of Algiers was divided into four parts: Beylik of East (Constantine,) Beylik of West (Oran,) Algiers and the Beylik of South (Titteri.)

I know about the palaces and the citadels of the first three, but I failed to find any information about the architectural monuments/heritage of the last.

Would you like to give me any information?

Bonus: What about Ait Abbas and all of the other Berber states?

İdeal İstanbulunuz

Selam.

How Well Documented Are "Indigenous" Languages?

We all know majority of these languages are under risk of extinction nowadays, but how much knowledge would be left of them if all did? What if someone gathered all the resources after, say, Kamchatkan went extinct and tried to learn it? How advanced would they be able to get?

My definition of "indigenous" here includes:

-Native American Languages

-Australian Languages

-East Siberian Languages

I'm not counting languages like Hawaiian or the other Austronesian languages in the Pacific even though they were victims of colonization, just because their larger family has some strongly thriving members. Not saying indigenous doesn't cover them, I'm just using the word I thought the best.

Is There a Map of Tunis Like This?

Hello there. As a Turkish person, I'm interested in "Barbary" (Algerian, Tunisian and Libyan) history, especially in relation to the Ottoman Empire.

I find it too bad the French laid ruin to many pieces of architecture of importance. However, I inferred that Tunis was not as worse off as Algiers, because of the country's status in the French Empire.

The question is in the title. I'm looking for a map that highlights the extant and extinct buildings of Tunis. Also, if you want to tell me about any of them, (like the Bardo Palace, I suppose) especially of the Ottoman and Beylik eras, please do so.

What's Each Country's Hawaii Equivalent?

A seperate piece of land mainlanders tend to go for summer vacation with tropical climate.

For Japan, it would be Okinawa, for Spain, Canary Islands? What do you think?

Azerbaijani Architecture

Hi :) What do you think are some good examples of historical Azerbaijani architecture? Do you think they are well-preserved? I would imagine Russian/Soviet occupation didn't care about them much.

I looked it up some, but from what I get, some of the examples have fallen in Iran, Turkey and Russia's territory in modern times.

From what I get, the khanates built some palaces (like the one in Nahkchivan) but the biggest of them was the one in Erivan...?

Central Asian Architecture

What are some examples of your country's historical/traditional architecture?

I realize due to being nomadic and some devastating occupations (Russian/Mongol) and other factors many of the cities in Central Asia were destroyed. That is really unfortunate.

I would have loved to see what cities like Merv or Serai looked like at their peaks.

From what I can see, Uzbek cities are the best preserved. Multiple cities with old mosques, citadels, madrasas and palaces.

Wrestling

Is wrestling practiced in your country as a folk sport? Does it have history that goes way back?

If so, what is your country's style like? What are the rules? The winning conditions? The attire?

Mongolian wrestling seems unique, for an example. Translates well to sumo, apparently.

What Do You Think About Ssireum?

I'm interested ın folk wrestling styles and it was cool to see such a unique style.

Though from what I get the belt is a relatively recent innovation? Is it the same for the sand pit?
