Instinct 3 - Tactical 45MM + AMOLED
MIP > AMOLED
Picked up the AMOLED model while I was waiting for the Tactical Solar to show up in the mail.
I’ll be sticking with the MIP model.
The AMOLED screen makes the instinct feel more like a toy. Battery life is longer, solar might be a little gimmicky, but it’s just the better option.
I think the Instinct tactical is perfect for those who want to track your fitness without the feeling/look of it being a “Smart watch”.
The 45MM is also a plus. For those wondering, I threw a Garmin Quickfit 22mm strap on it. Feel a lot better and makes it look a little bit sleeker/slimmer
NTD first time on a truck
Just a hobbyist who enjoys wrenching on my own truck/vehicles.
Finally found a local snap on truck and he was able to hook me up with the new Atech Advanced 3/8 digital torque wrench! Ended up snagging a 250th 3/8 ratchet set while I was on the truck.
Definitely happy with my purchase & will be coming back for more!
Maintenance day - Spark plugs @ 85k
Bought the truck with 51k miles. First “Mod” was the OTT tune went medium/spicy! Then a roof rack from Martin Off-road.
I finally got around to installing a Bilstein 6112/5160 2 inch leveling kit. Night and day difference coming from the stock SR suspension. Threw on some TRD pro SEMA wheels w 285/70/17 fallen Wildpeak AT4W
Side note: I did change out the front rotors/pads due to them having really a loud screeching sound when I first got the truck. (57k)
Today I went to my local Toyota dealership and bought OEM plugs 90919-01263 - $200 out the door. Ridiculous, I know. Got them changed out in about 2 hours. Hardest part was cylinder #2, very tight space when removing the ignition coil.
Cylinder #5 was the only one that had oil on it. My guess it wasn’t torqued down enough or I have to replace my valve cover gaskets. I’ll pull the spark plug out in about a month to verify.
Also ended up replacing my PCV valve as well while I was down there. Easy maintenance, cheap part.
Do yourself a favor and do your own maintenance. Toyota wanted $850 to change them out. Unreal.
Painting TRD Pro wheels?
Kinda wishing I went with the black TRD pro 4Runner wheels. Bought these wheels and mounted some 285/70/17 to them. Love the look, but now I’m rethinking if I should’ve just got the black wheels instead of the gloss gray. Anyone here paint their TRD pro wheels?
Bought my own tools and did it myself NTD
I was quoted anywhere from $1,300 - $1,500 to install a lift kit on my truck from multiple shops in my area with a turnaround time of 2 to 3 days!
Decided to just do it myself. Got it done in 4 hours with the M18 1/2 in High Torque impact.
Ended up getting the Stubby 3/8 & Insider ratchet after the installation for future projects/maintenance.
These tools are great, definitely glad I went this route instead of paying someone else to do it.
Bilstein 6112/5160 & 285/70/17 Wildpeak AT4
Ended up going with Bilstein 6112-5160, 4Runner TRD Pro wheels, & some 285/70/17 Wildpeaks. Rides a lot smoother. Very happy with the way this turned out!
