kind grossed out by lurkers

really gives me the heebiejeebies when i see white people in the comments being like “i usually don’t comment” and then saying something. the implication is that they’re here lurking on our posts and the conversations we have with eachother, in a space specific for us to be able to have these conversations without white people butting in their opinions. it feels like we’re being spied on by the people we’re actively trying to create a space away from. i know we can’t just ban all white people, but i wish they’d have the decency to respect this space that’s clearly made with the intention of not being theirs.

this isn’t the 1st, second, or 4th time i’ve seen a none japanese queer people use japanese imagery and orientalism in some sort of pride art or graphics

yeah no shit you didn’t think about orientalism because you actually do not respect japan and other asian cultures 🙂 i’ve also noticed people who glaze japan no nothing about it, japan has a horrifying history and though i love being japanese, its so unsettling to see people act like it’s some sort of utopia. i can’t help but feel that if they actually cared about japanese culture and history, they would not treat and view it the was it often is because they would know the truth of a very corrupt country with a horribly violent past and no reparations.

rest in peace, my sweet baby Puff

I’m still in disbelief as i type this. racking my brain over and over trying to figure out what i did wrong, what i could have done to prevent this. i took him to the vet exactly two weeks ago, giving him his meds twice a day like clockwork, in his temporary separate pen so i could keep track of his poops. we’ve done this before- he’s the runt and prone to GI stasis. i’ve taken him to the vet for it 5 times in the past 3 years, with critical care always ready at home. he always bounces back. i was supposed to put him back in his family pen today. his med schedule and pen separation were supposed to end today. i thought he was doing better- regular bowel movements, and had his energy back. but yesterday morning, after i prepped his second to last dose of medications, i stepped into their room and saw him curled in his litter box, unresponsive. my heart keeps shattering over and over. i keep thinking i must have missed something- that there must have been a sign something was wrong and i should have taken him to the emergency vet. i’m overcome with the regret of keeping him separate from his family. that he died by himself, in that stupid separation pen. i feel immense shame and guilt when im caring for his parents, i feel i failed them as much as i failed him. he was only 3 years old.

baby Puff, i love you. you have brought joy into my life every day, and i have loved you since the day you were born. i’m so sorry. i don’t know what i did wrong. i’m so sorry i didn’t notice something was wrong. i’m so sorry i had you separate from your family. you deserved to have a long, happy and fulfilling life, and you deserved to pass next to your loved ones. i love you forever and always.

tired of being a fetish

i hate that racial fetishism is just as prevalent in queer communities as it is in the wider cishet world. i hate how yaoi effects the way people treat me as an japanese transmasc with a twinkish figure. whether they are aware of it or not, people have a preconceived idea of who i am, my personality, and my interests because i am japanese. i have severe csa trauma directly related to fetishism, and growing up i foolishly thought i would escape the rampant fetishism once i was in queer communities. i was wrong. it’s still here, just different. it’s hard to find queer bipoc community, both online and irl.

people don’t like talking about transmasc fetishization. people don’t like talking about racial fetishism. i know for a facttt that my experience of being fetishized for both my race and gender is relatable to other poc trans people, in one way or another bc white people have specific fetishes based in specific stereotypes depending on whatever race/ethnicity you are. it’s fucking weird and gross. i’m tired of watching white queers latching on and fetishizing the nearest, most marginalized identities they can find, and thinking they’re woke and inclusive for it. most of them won’t accept the fact that they have racism they still need to unlearn and fetishism is still systemic and racist.

Stealing ai “art” is still using ai and is unethical.

I’ve seen a few posts about this concept, and it’s completely hypocritical.

  1. A lot of ai “art” is just somebody taking a REAL artists work, and running it through ai. It is directly stolen concept and character from an actual artist. If you “steal” it back, you’re just stealing from the original, real artist. If someone steals someone wallet, and then you steal that wallet from the thief, that wallet still rightfully belongs to the original person it was stolen from. It does not even out, it just creates a cycle.

  2. You’re an artist. Use your creativity. Use your brain. If you need inspiration, look at real art, photos, the world around you, make something new. Dumping your creative process onto AI will kill your creativity.

  3. Using ai for inspiration is still using ai. Even if you aren’t the one generating it yourself, you are letting it have a significant place/effecf in your creative process. You are giving AI more space to exist and be used. If you’re actually anti AI “art”, then why in the world would you use AI in your artistic process.

AI is bad. For a million reasons beyond just artistic integrity. The more you find ways to use it, the more abundant it will become. It’s deeply hypocritical and unethical to use AI in your creative process while calling yourself anti-AI. Shun AI from art in ALL capacities.
