I keep seeing mentions that the D3 can do > 60 second captures but haven't figured out if that is true or not. Anyone know if there is a toggle I'm missing?

I'm curious if anyone has a handle on how to best use the gain setting? I'm in a Bortle 6+ location if that matters.

I'm curious if there is a rule for exposure time vs gain for gathering images as well.

Also what are signs of too much gain? I'm guessing noise but would love to hear what others have been experiencing.

Does anyone have some experience of doing 30 vs 60 second captures? I'm curious if there is a noticeable difference in the stacked image.

I have a D3 but my workflow is setup a schedule with 4+ locations to capture and so I don't get blacks for stacking (which probably hurts the results as well). I'm pondering getting a Mini to get the auto blacks.
