Would you be open to buffing lower pickrate summoner spells?

I really enjoy the variety of summoner spells in classic, it opens up creativity for interesting builds and playstyles you can make, for example minion buff alistar and nunu.

However, these builds are far from great and viable competitively, at least in soloQ.

I was thinking, what if we buff summoner spells in a way so you’re not forced into flash, ignite, tp, barrier & heal. The variety only makes sense if its useful. And as far as i can tell the variety is fake, it exists but it doesn’t fulfill any purpose.

Would you guys be open to such a change?

Can someone explain the struggle with Nasus?

I see he has high winrate into singed, but every time i play vs him, it’s the most free game ever. I get he can stack for free while i proxy, but I can also roam after proxies.

Level 1 i go proxy, recall after 400g come back to lane with a dorans ring + dark seal + refillable, go for all in, if he lives and is very low, i just dive him if he stays.

if he recalls i proxy, when he comes back i get him low or stop from entering lane.

Everything in the early game is forced plays if jungler doesn’t come.

Pyke is in the gutters and riot keeps nerfing him

Every season, few patches, I am constantly hoping for a buff on pyke to make him at least more viable than a Teemo support.

The champion is just so fucking useless in his current state, that is genuinely not even fun to play.

I have 1 million points on pyke, rank diamond, and i can barely get over 50% wr on this champ.

He has this fake strength at lane phase where he can completely dominate, but once their team outlevels you and gets gold, they will simply just claim back any kind of lead you gained in the lane phase from 1-2 kills.

It feels like this season specifically, it is just absurd how anyone can even main pyke anymore, he has 0 mid game - late game. I get if you're playing in lower elo than your peak, he still stomps, but as a champion to climb with its just brutal.

I literally have more success on teemo support than I do with pyke, and winrate data on mobalytics supports my claim, especially for emerald.

Semi-famous creator PantsAreDragon solo died 2 times top and left game

I logged on early today to play a game, this is the first time i get paired with a content creator i know and actually enjoy content from.

I recognized the name in the champ select, so i opened his twitch to see that it was indeed him.

From going completely quiet to going into youtube mode, he starts commentating his own gameplay, then got really salty after his first death.

On his 2nd death he said "fuck this shit" left the game and stream for 30 minutes. Came back into the game as we were losing, ran it down in botlane, died to a minion.

After that he got pissed off that he got a 10 min queue lockout. Meaning probably he has done this exact thing multiple times in order for him to get a lockout.

I'm kind of surprised he is this kind of a loser because he seems on his youtube videos to be sort of chill and normal. But you never know with these fake youtubers.

What is a champ you miss that’s not in the champion pool currently?

Mine is Poppy, Vlad & Swain. Have so many good memories with those champs, and old poppy used to actually be fun to play contrary to the one we got now.

I am impressed with league classic

I have been a fan of league of legends before some of you were born probably, and the game has been so great at delivering a quality experience for the years its been alive.

I may not agree with everything and i hate some changes they have done over the years, it is still an insanely good game today.

The league classic is something that has been on my mind for the past 5 years or so, i wanted to revisit the game i played as a kid.

The pace of league classic is as i expected, everything is slow, auto-attack based, weird items, unbalanced, and there’s a mystique to it with the meta and what is good and what is not good.

The game has been somewhat remodelled for better or for worse, personally i think some aspects that are live now on the PBE could be changed to be more immersive to the true classic experience, instead of having half a foot in classic and half a foot out.

The philosophy should be more like ”lets make classic league of legends, if they don’t like it, we still have new league of legends for them.”

About adding stuff to league classic has to be authentic to the era of the game like weird items, balancing lower pickrate summoners spells, runes & masteries. This is how old school runescape maintained its longterm success, and why wow classic is in the gutters right now.

Overall the game is extremely fun to play for me, I am exploring all kinds of builds atm with low success might i add.

1. F4 - bird opening

What’s your opinion on this opening for white?

I’ve been playing it for a few years in 1600-2000 online elo range and it’s always an exciting game, tactics everywhere, in this elo it’s guaranteed you or the opponent blunders really badly. Pawn sacrifices everywhere, unsafe kings, castling opposite sides of the board etc.

In my opinion this opening is great for people who are very good positional players. You have to know where to put your pieces in order for you to win. The advantages comes from positional advantages most of the time.

Blundering in this opening feels so brutal, you basically have to give up pieces for pawns/king safety if you blunder, whilst in other openings i feel like you can blunder and get to an endgame relatively safe most of the time, but not in the bird opening.

Alt builds for champs in aram mayhem

I wanna make a thread for alt builds for champions in ARAM mayhem, we all know full crit adc’s, hp stacking tanks with dropkick, etc.

A few builds i’ve been trying is:

1. Nashors renata glasc - her passive is a max. HP magic dmg with auto attacks, scales very well with levels and AP.

A single autoattack with full build can do 30%-40% max hp.

Best augments are marksmage, wooglet, and any attackspeed/AP augment

2. AP trundle - similar to Renata glasc, his ult does max HP magic dmg, not the best scaling but still able to do 40% at minimum after 16.

Getting pillar dmg augment is neccessary, then build liandry’s, torch.

If you can get dot damage to gold augment it’s gonna scale you insanely good.

Best prismatic is the reset ultimate after casting ultimate which will get you double the damage from your ult which is basically 1 shot anyone.

3. Critzcrank - blitzcrank but you build crit and lethality, his E has 200% AD scaling which is insane, along with essence reaver, empowered E dmg 30% augment, you will do a solid 1.5-2.5k with a single E auto.

Getting any AD/crit/lethality/dmg increase augment is good.

After hitting 2000 in 2020, I quit playing chess

After a 6 year break, with occasional comebacks, I am finally really really enjoying chess again. I enjoy learning openings, positional understanding, and analyzing my games. Although progress has been pretty fast on my new account, it is mostly old chess knowledge resurfacing to my pre-frontal cortex (i think lol).

The first few games after coming back were brutal, I really got a better perspective on how new players feel when they play chess, piece blunder after piece blunder, completely blind to it. But if you beat your head against the wall long enough you realize that its probably not good to do so unless you lost too many braincells in the process.

I noticed in my playing I am more of a deep thinker than I was 6 years ago, I am usually down on time in every game i play, in my old rapid games i would blitz out the openings because i thought i had them all figured out (had a bit of a bigger ego then too).

The main difference i think between playing now vs then is i literally have no desire to become a GM in 5 years or an IM , nor do I think that's even a likely possibility for me anymore at 26 years old. I just want to learn, play, and eventually reach a strong enough level to where I can go back to my old chess club and compete with the other guys there in my region.

The younger me would not admit defeat, and throw plates out of my apartment when i got crushed in chess. I even smashed a coffee mug into a wall which gave me a bunch of permanent scars on my hand (absolute crazy). Losing when you think you should win or whatever really takes a mental toll on you, especially if it happens several times during a day for 365 days a year, we all handle these losses differently and I can say for certain mine was unhealthy for me.

If you read this far, please share your stories with chess, it would be interesting to find someone with a similar story.

Has there been a recorded test of bending spacetime through motion?

I know it’s fractions of seconds that change in any earthly travel, but if there’s a test where a clock that can measure nanoseconds accurately is compared between a person standing still and a person in motion.

If anyone has a video like this it would be cool to see.

PYKE JG OR MID PLS

With all the nerfs over the years, pyke surely must be ready to get back into midlane/jungle without being "too frustrating" to play against.

I love playing pyke JG in normals, first clear is a complete joke, but still fun when you get tiamat.

IMO Pyke JG is his best role if it wasn't for the Q aoe nerf, and E minion/monster damage nerf. Currently Pyke feels completely garbage in the midgame-lategame in support, regardless of how many executes/kills/assists you got. You're always going to be the lowest level in the team as well which singlehandedly loses you most 1v1's vs midlaners, toplaners, junglers.

You really do want to be able to play jungle because the champ is so limiting on support, people have mastered this champ and wanna pop-off like a zed or a talon can, not a support with the sole mission of getting a braindead adc fed.

Is the reason toplane is picked less than JG currently because of range tops?

Do we have actual statistics of it? I played this game for 3 years and never seen top consistently being a priority role.

My off-meta support tierlist

It's only based on what i've played on support, with a more proficient player or main, these ranks may increase 1-2 tiers, but for the average player with 0-20k mastery on each of these champs, i'd say this is a pretty fair ranking on them.

S tier champs are imo strong and fits pretty much flawlessly into botlane, in right comps. Everything else below is pretty much garbage with small exceptions.

why are senna players the worst at the game?

objectively speaking, their champ sucks early, their champ is not even great late with a ton of stacks compared to smolder.

on top of that, they are always the worst player in the game, bad macro, overextending, shitty CSing. Does this champ attract the worst adcs or what is the problem?

Wanting to learn singed mid

what are the worst matchups vs the best matchups? Does your build generally shift in mid compared to top?

So far i am perma banning lissandra, you just can't touch her, and she just 1 shot you if she gets fed.

Naafiri felt like a breeze, probably the easiest matchup and you get extra omnivamp heals from his minions.

after 3 years of hardstuck emerald

I did most of it on my beautiful chemist Singed in top.

what changed was i dropped my ego and played for team rather than "winning lane". If I see botlane is struggling, i can tp in and help, drop 1-2 waves, even if we get no kills, i think it helps for morale boost.

Range tops can suck my dong, i feel like every game i played vs range top they all lose, Ryzes, teemos, vaynes, because their teamfights lack something. they only play to dominate you, which is not a strong wincon unless you are playing for the same objective. You just take the farm you can, try to all in them under your turret around lvl 4-6, never push for prio unless proxy is completely safe.

For melee matchups i would previously try to outplay them in 1v1's. But singed is such a bad 1v1 champ, I stopped doing that unless its obviously very free, like leveling 6 before them, or flip under turret. Otherwise just push, proxy, push, proxy.
