Why are we hating on the hashira?

like I see SO many posts everywhere hating on different hashira, choosing favorites, saying some are weak, but genuinely, all are good. shinobu isn’t weak. mitsuri isn’t a sl*t, giyu isn’t annoying, gyomei isnt boring or ‘too old’, Obanai isn’t basic, tengen isn’t a p*revert or ab*ser toward his wives, murichiro is a CHILD, (and clearly, some of you forget that), rengoku isn’t too unserious, and sanami isnt to complicated. each member of the corps has their own unique personality, backstories, interests, traumas, strengths, and weaknesses. I hate how much genuinely good characters get hated on, s*xualized often, and disgustingly shipped. the only character who deserves hate is gyokuu or whatever tf his name was, the vain mermaid snake demon who murichiro fought. I love demon slayer but hate the fandom

Can someone explain what ‘the jar’ is?

apparently it’s something inappropriate. Yes, I’ve searched it up on Google, ai, TikTok, YouTube, insta, and other platforms, and I can’t get an answer. All I found was ’the jar’ has something to do with a rainbow dash doll in a jar back in like 2018, and involved something inappropriate, but I don’t get it. it seems to be an internet inside joke that everyone knows. someone explain. if this community isn’t appropriate for this post, lmk. thanks yall <3

Hey, new to Reddit and the knowledge that it exists.

I’m a teen writer, soon to be an author. my book is called, “stolen from the sea”, and we are working to get it published by July 15th.

it’s about a teenager with a seemingly normal life discovers her whole life was a lie, and her parents arent who she thought they were. Deep down in the sea, it’s been waiting for her to come home.

recommend for ages 12+

:)

Should I be concerned about this random person I texted going disturbingly wrong?

forgive me, for this is very long.

This afternoon, on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, I found myself bored, with the urge to have some harmless fun and prank text random numbers. I can’t remember if I got this number off of TikTok, or just typed in random phone numbers I made up until they worked.

finally, a number worked. I started off the conversation by being silly and pretending to be an uber driver. a few hours later, the person replied ‘no, not intrested’. I said something like, ‘sorry I’m not an Uber driver lol, I was just trolling.’

they sent a waving emoji, I asked if it was a hello or goodbye, they said goodbye.

me being the chaotic and strange person I am, I kept the conversation going, saying the most silly, cursed, and out of context things, and all the person responded with was ‘👍’. I assumed they were just being funny, so I kept sending random, halarious texts, and still got the thumbs up.

at this point, I was pretty damn sure all this person would respond with was the thumbs up emoji, so I was daring enough to text something along the lines of, “send me a thumbs up if you’re pregnant”. I know this sounds super cheesy and weird, but please, listen.

I was just goofing off over text with this complete stranger whom I didn’t even know their name or gender, when they texted these two emojis:

✋🏻✊🏻

if you are unaware, this is a silent distress signal used when someone needs help but can’t say anything directly, often used in abuse situations.

i wasn’t sure what to think, rather if it was a prank/someone trolling, or someone needing genuine help. I asked multiple times, “do you genuinely need help,” “are you seriously, no joke in danger?”, and every time I got a thumbs up. I even sent things like “send me the distress signal emojis again if you genuinely need help”, and I would get the same distress signal emojis.

I genuinely couldn’t tell if it was a literal cry for help or a complete prank/troll. I kept confirming if the person genuinely needed help, and kept getting thumbs up, then the person stopped texting completely.

i tried calling the number multiple times and sending more texts asking if they were okay, but no response for like 20 minutes.

finally, I get a text saying, “who’s is this?” (they probably meant to say ‘who is this”. I reply, “what?”

*this is how the conversation went”

me: “you sent the distress hand signal through emojis. are you okay?”

stranger: “this is her husband.”

me: “Like seriously, I’m just a teen prank texting people. Your wife scared me, Jesus Christ.“

*new message*

me: “I’m so sorry sir I’ll leave you alone if you want“

stranger/husband: “leave US alone she’s in charge of doing something.”

me: “Ok I’m so sorry sir have a nice night”

i deleted the contact + conversation, but something doesn’t sit right with me, and something’s telling me it’s abuse or something. Maybe I watch too much medical + legal drama, and I’m being paranoid, but Reddit, do your thing, help me out.

Does this just seem like a strange/disturbing interaction with a stranger via texting random numbers, a total prank/troll, texting random numbers gone wrong, or some kind of abuse case?

also, this will probably be taken down, because Reddit is seeing this as an urgent cry of mental health crisis, but i promise you, this is just an interaction with a total stranger I want to share.
