Just picked up a new Farer Pilot Series II Hewlett in Titanium. We’ll be messing with a few different straps on this and a companion piece that arrived with it for the summer.

My Pelagos Ultra took a walk with me this morning to hunt for snook in the surf with a fly rod.

Converted the Ultra over to a Zealande rubber strap for the summer; I dislike the end link integration on the OEM strap. It changes everything about how this watch wears.

Brand new addition to the collection. Best enjoyed over a hot cup of espresso.

What are you sporting this Mother’s Day?

My DW-5600 module 901 was given to me by my late father on my 9th birthday, more than 35 years ago.

It was on my wrist when my baby sister was born (she just had her second baby), the first time I kissed a girl, when I learned to drive, the first time I flew a fighter jet (and many missions thereafter), the day I got trapped underwater on a dive in a cenote, my honeymoon, my divorce, and almost every beat day on the farm I managed for a decade.

Last night, I gave her a much-deserved update.

I own several great watches. But I’d give every one of them up for this old Casio. Some things just choose us.
