Honest opinion about the girls vocals in "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)

So… having listened to the girls’ rendition of “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love),” I wanted to give my opinions on their vocals so far. This isn’t meant to be taken as fact or as snark; it’s just my observation and some light criticism. Their rendition was good, but they need to set the bar higher.

I think it’s very clear that they prioritize dance and sexiness way more than singing in this group. To me, their vocals are okay, but I expected a little more. And it’s not just down to the vocals alone, even the vocal arrangements can be all over the place. If there isn’t a defined choreography, they sometimes they all end up doing the same repeated move where they lift their hand to their chest when it isn’t really needed.

We have a group of four girls singing this rendition, and it felt kind of like a karaoke event. Their harmonies together should have been the vocal highlight. As each member sings their part, there should be moments where they come together and really showcase what their voices sound like as a group. Instead, we were left with each of them waiting their turn and looking at the audience.

They’ve set a high standard with their dancing, but I feel like they need to push the boundaries more with their vocals and learn not to always rely on sexiness when performing. If dancing isn’t in the room with us, then we need the vocals to 100% make us forget that.

This also echoes back to what was said during Dream Academy about wanting vocals that could fill arenas.

And this is the problem I keep having with their vocals: nothing sticks out, nothing stands out, and nothing feels memorable. The rendition felt like a “here, damn” moment, like, we were asked to sing this, so here goes.

Disney called you to take on a song that, under different circumstances, if this was say 2016, they might have given to someone like Ariana Grande, and we got nothing truly memorable to look back on. It was basically word-for-word singing, with no distinct vocal arrangement or creative choices that fans or people who look up to KATSEYE can reference and say, “Oh, nothing can top that performance.” There are basically very very few posts where people screen grab a section of the rendition and say "did you see this part" or "mind blown"

There was no real attempt to think outside the box or make the song theirs. And that’s what I feel is missing from their vocals right now: those moments where you hear something and immediately think, “Yep, that’s KATSEYE. they can dance, but when its time for vocals they bring the house down”

I think the shaved eyebrow look doesn’t really suit Daniella

I get the concept they were going for but to me every time I see it, it’s quite jarring… I think they bleached it too much. And the fact that her current hair is dark Kind of amplifies that. Shaved eyebrows are a hard look to pull off.. this is no shade to her but I think the production team should know better.

Do you think unloveu isn’t in the digital release because of Lara

So I was wondering why this track wasn’t included in the digital release, and maybe it’s because of the streaming royalties. Lara is credited as a writer, and if it were released on Spotify and other platforms, she would also need to be paid since she’s a credited writer. Probably why it’s only being sold physically… If that’s true, idk how to feel about tha

Disappointed in the ending

spoiler warning** **I just watched the ending, and honestly, I don’t know whether they wanted something controversial to help the episode gain attention, or if it was one of those situations where the writers felt the need to make it more “grounded” in reality through self-projection. Either way, I’m disappointed.
As a Wizards fan, this ending felt like the show’s way of telling me that this spin-off didn’t need to exist, especially since I was perfectly satisfied with how everything ended in the original series.
Producers need to understand that many of us watch shows like this to escape reality, not to leave reality only to be confronted with a different kind of sadness. From the perspective of the original series, this spin-off felt mundane and melancholy. It would have been fine if they had simply said that Mason and Alex broke up, but this honestly felt like bait to generate a reaction from viewers, knowing this would be the final episode of the series.
In the end, it left me feeling like the original ending should have been left untouched. And it kind of irks me that Alex then got pregnant not too long after?? Idk I kind of feel this series was rushed, and wasn’t supposed to be done till a couple years in the future.

I'd Love to See an X-Men Movie Serve as the Introduction to a Series

Now that we're entering the X-Men era of the MCU, my biggest hope, aside from the movies we already know are coming, is that we get a proper series, maybe around 8 episodes, that dives deeper into the X-Men characters and their relationships.

The X-Men roster is huge, and many of the characters are incredibly complex. Giving each character only a few minutes of screen time every few years wouldn't really do them justice and would severely limit their development. One of the things that makes the X-Men special is not just the individual characters, but the dynamics, friendships, rivalries, and family-like bonds between them.

At the same time, I don't think splitting everyone into separate solo projects would be the best solution either. While that could help flesh out individual characters, it might come at the expense of the team chemistry that is such a core part of the X-Men. A series would give Marvel the space to develop both the characters and their relationships while still keeping them together as a team.

Personally, I think the ideal approach would be to use the movies for the major events and storylines, while using a high-quality series to explore the characters, the school, mutant politics, and the day-to-day interactions that make the X-Men feel like a family. That's something the films alone may struggle to fully capture.

Animal feels like a cover song. it was written by a man talking about a woman, so its kind of hard to relate it to the girls

Ngl, it's very clear and evident that this song was written by a man. We all know it was written by Ed Sheeran, and the label probably bought it because they thought it was a good song, not because it was specifically written for KATSEYE.

You can kind of tell from the all-over-the-place music video concept and the forced sapphic vibes throughout. I understand that Lara and Meghan are bi, but most of the members are currently dating men, so it feels like they're leaning into certain concepts because they know people will make edits or go crazy over the pairings.

Even the lyrics have a sensuality that doesn't really feel like it came from a woman's perspective. It just doesn't feel like a song that was written with KATSEYE's identity or voice in mind. A perfect example of what the song could have been is fifth harmony's "BOSS". They arent a saphicc band thats why they eneded up being stuck with the corporate girls fighting each other trope they used for gabriella.

Honest opinions about this era so far.. I think their team needs to buckle up

Hey, this is just my opinion. It doesn’t make it a fact, and I’d love to hear everyone else’s opinions as well.
So, I’m not going to lie: since the beginning of this year, I haven’t really been feeling their rollouts, and it’s honestly starting to make me feel underwhelmed and slowly watering down my excitement for the full album.
Recently—and this isn’t a post about the members at all, but rather their production and creative team—I’ve been thinking about the direction they’re taking. These girls started off cunty, sassy, and fresh when “Gnarly” came around, and that was kind of solidified with “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.” Not to mention the sponsorships and brand deals. They were the IT girls, the cool girls.
But recently, I’ve noticed a kind of Kidz Bop-ification of their music and choreography, and I feel like it could eventually make them lose that status. Their recent songs and dances just aren’t giving the same vibes or quality as last year, and the new “Animals” choreography kind of proved that to me.
The dance feels lacklustre and, honestly, like something you could see on Just Dance or in a simplified workout routine for busy mums. Meanwhile, when I looked at Saint Satine’s recent leaks and rollouts, their songs were the perfect example of the kind of music I expected KATSEYE to be making. Have you listened to “Paper Dolls”? OMG.
I’m talking about something more mature—not necessarily in an explicitly adult way, but in a way that makes teenagers look up to them and, dare I say, even makes parents see them as a little bit of bad news. Think early Beyoncé kind of vibes.
Right now, though, their overall image is giving Disney Channel end-of-movie credits.
They need to stop with the catfights. It was done, tried, and executed amazingly for the time, but why are we still having the girls fighting in “Animals”? The choreography for “Pinky Up” wasn’t that great either and felt like something made for tweens.
So, I really feel like KATSEYE needs to change its creative direction before they become the subject of one of those “What Could Have Been” YouTube video essays. Their song writers really need to get a grip and understand what will really hook people, study pussy car dolls early Beyoncé etc ugh

I feel like they wanted to re-heat last years nachos

Don’t hate me 😭, but their releases this year seem to be following the same pattern as last year, both in terms of song types, music video concepts, and scheduling. I’m not sure how this will play out.
Firstly, they released “Pinky Up,” which was seen as eccentric as gnarly. Now “Animal” feels like they wanted another “Gabriella,” especially with the music video being very similar in its office-siren concept and featuring an older female cameo. And then there’s the erratic acting towards the camera…
It’s very clear that they wanted to recreate the same hype they had last year, but I’m honestly scared it might backfire and make people feel like they’ve lost the spark or allure they had before.
“Animal” was nice to listen to, but compared to “Gabriella,” I’d still rate “Gabriella” higher. I think they need to chill with the office girls concept for a while 😭😭

You Can Be Masculine Without Looking Down on Feminine Men or the lgbtq

I’m not bashing anyone. You can be masculine-presenting in whatever way you wish. But it becomes annoying when these particular men use their own characteristics to look down on feminine men and make them seem defective.
What really grinds my gears is that these hyper-masculine-presenting gay men seem to be emerging now that the coast is somewhat clear. Feminine gay men and masculine-presenting women helped pave the way for the limited acceptance we have today. And now that things are a little easier, you want to ride on the progress they helped create while looking down on the very people who helped get us here?
They also have this whole “Look at me, I’m so different. Even though I’m gay, I’m not the weird type. I’m different” attitude. But different for who? Who are you trying to impress? The straights?.
You don’t want to be part of the LGBT community? Fine. But many of the same people you’re distancing yourself from helped pave the way for the limited acceptance we have today. If many feminine gay men and masculine-presenting women hadn’t spoken out, we would probably still be in the shadows, pandering to the straight community and trying to hide who we are.
In the same breath, you keep hammering on about how you don’t want to act “zesty,” as if someone gave you a “How to Be Gay” rulebook and told you that being zesty was a requirement.
Then he ends it all with “too scared to come out.” But honestly, many of them have already joined their straight friends in bashing the community so much that coming out to them would feel like joining an enemy group.
The whole point of the community is: be who you are. And if being who you are requires you to make other people feel defective, then I think most of these men should live in their own misery and stop posting their horrid takes.

I dont really blame Hama for "inventing" blood bending.

To be honest, I don't blame Hama all that much. If you look at it from her perspective, bloodbending was born out of pure adaptability and survival instinct. It was a choice between dying in captivity alongside the rest of the Southern Water Tribe prisoners or finding a way to survive. Ethically, it was wrong, but desperation can push people to do things they would never have considered otherwise.

Hama and Katara are actually quite similar in that they're both incredibly resourceful and determined. I think if Katara had been in Hama's position, locked in a prison cell for years, watching her friends and family die around her, there's a real chance she could have discovered bloodbending herself. We even see a glimpse of that episodes after Hama left. When Katara believes the man before her murdered her mother, she resorts to bloodbending out of overwhelming rage. I don't think she set out intending to use it, but in that emotional moment it became a last resort. That's a very human reaction, even if it's not the right one.

I think Hama's story is a case of the right message coming from the wrong messenger. She was absolutely right about one thing: she taught Katara to keep an open mind. Rewatching the series as an adult, I actually expected Katara to be more resourceful than she initially was. She still relied heavily on her water flask until Hama showed her that water could be drawn from moisture in the air. Hama also demonstrated that water could be taken from plants, as long as it was done carefully enough not to kill them.

I actually think it would've been a really cool concept if drawing water directly from the moisture in the air (not from plants) became Katara's signature ability. It could have been something only the most exceptionally skilled waterbenders were capable of, reinforcing her growth and mastery without relying on bloodbending.

Where Hama truly crossed the line wasn't in inventing bloodbending to escape, it was what she chose to do with it afterward. She continued kidnapping innocent people, imprisoning them, and using bloodbending to terrorize them long after she was free. We never really learn everything those captives endured in the cave, but it's clear they suffered. Survival may explain why Hama created bloodbending, but it doesn't justify what she later became.

Obsession: His Character Was So Frustrating, But Why?

So this isn’t a thorough review or analysis or anything, but while watching Obsession, his character was really annoying me, in a good way, i wanted to know what kind of physche he is. The actor did an amazing job, but I couldn’t pinpoint what behavior to classify his character as. I don’t know if he is a coward, or just someone who wanted to be spoon-fed everything in life, or if he was hoping things would just align with his will without him putting in any effort. Or he was just lazy?

From the story, there were many opportunities that opened up for him to express his feelings for Nikki. She even went ahead and asked him if he liked her. A normal person would have found a way to answer the question with a hint that he did like her, even if he didn’t want to outright say it. But he just kept behaving sort of “dumb,” like he didn’t want to be the one to say it. Even during the party scene as nicki was freaking out, he just sat there and looked at her crashing out and did nothing, people who had zero knowledge about her issue went to her aid but she just kept looking like he was waiting for life to tell him what to say next.

This shows even after the wish was made, when all these terrible things were happening, he had no sense of urgency. He was just waiting for a knight in shining armor to save him. Even when Nikki was hurting Sarah in the car, he just sat there watching it like he was part of the audience, because he lacked that sense of urgency or awareness of what was happening, like his IQ was 10 or something. What are your thoughts on his character what disorder can i classify this as.. or is this like a normal thing

My Thoughts on Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Live-Action Avatar Didn’t Understand What Made the Original Work

I understand that the live-action Avatar had a challenge with runtime. The show had around 7+ hours of screen time compared to the animated series season it was adapting, which was roughly 8 hours. However, to me, the issue did not feel like it was simply a lack of time. The rewrites and storyline changes made it feel like the writers and directors looked at the original plot and decided certain elements did not make sense, so they wanted to create their own interpretation. In the process, they seemed to lose sight of what made the original story work.

A lot of the changes felt like they were made with the goal of creating moments that would perform well as short-form content, especially for TikTok edits. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but the problem is that some of those moments were disconnected from the actual story.

One example is the catacombs fight. In the animated series, when Aang enters the Avatar State, he rises up and does not immediately attack anyone. His next actions are unknown to both the characters and the audience until Azula secretly strikes him in the back with lightning. The impact of that moment came from the surprise. Nobody expected it.

In the live-action version, it felt like they were trying to give Aang a more “epic” fight moment because, throughout the season, he did not really have many action scenes that fans could latch onto. So they created this confrontation with Azula, but it ended up feeling unnecessary. What made the original scene powerful was the unpredictability. In the live-action version, Azula repeatedly uses lightning and misses, which removes the tension and makes the entire sequence feel watered down.

The pacing was another major issue. The series was filled with unnecessary conversations and added scenes that slowed down the momentum of the story. The Painted Lady storyline is a good example. It felt like the show kept trying to justify why this storyline needed to exist but never really found its purpose.

In the animated series, the Painted Lady becomes a symbol because the village is suffering from pollution and environmental destruction. Katara’s decision to take on that role comes from seeing people being harmed by industrail pollution. In the live-action version, the motivation feels much weaker. She lives among lower-class city people, sees a child wanting a flower, and decides to become a vigilante because of that. The emotional weight is not the same.

It even reaches a point where Jet says something along the lines of questioning why Katara is fighting for the Fire Nation. That moment almost feels like the writers accidentally revealing their own confusion about the direction of the story, because even the characters seem unsure about what the plot is trying to say.

The Painted Lady storyline is also used against Katara later when Long Feng points out that stealing flowers from the palace was a serious crime. It feels like a consequence added from a storyline that did not have enough grounding in the first place.

Another major issue was Aang’s characterization. His portrayal made him come across as someone who was constantly frustrated and self-focused, almost like he believed he was the only person who cared about saving the world. The animated Aang had flaws, but he still had a sense of empathy and responsibility that balanced his immaturity.

The handling of Toph was another example. The show repeatedly brings up that her family helped create Fire Nation weapons, even though Toph is only 12 years old and has already established that she does not know or care about that side of her family’s business. The story keeps forcing that connection onto her.

The worst part was when Aang says, “I don’t even need you anyway.” That moment felt completely out of character and unnecessarily harsh, especially considering that she had trained him and helped him reach the level of earthbending he had at that point.

Azula is another example where the writers seemed to misunderstand what made the original character work. Azula’s strength was never just that she had powerful abilities. It was her subtlety. She was quick, witty, intelligent, and dangerous because she could manipulate situations without needing to constantly prove herself.

The live-action version often feels like it turned her into a “young female Sheldon” type of character, where her intelligence is constantly stated rather than shown. She repeatedly uses lightning in situations where it does not add much value, which slowly removes the impact and importance of the ability. In the animated series, lightning was intimidating because it was rare and controlled. Every use felt deliberate.

Her intelligence in the live-action series also sometimes feels like it only works because the plot allows it to. For example, she was captured and tied up as a prisoner, yet she was still giving long speeches about her plans before they had even happened. It removed the tension because instead of watching her outsmart people through actions, the audience was simply being told that she was smart.

Ty Lee had a similar issue. One of the things that made her unique in the animated series was her incredible agility and almost unnatural flexibility. She moved in ways that resembled an airbender, leaping huge distances and using her physical ability as part of her fighting style. In the live-action version, she does a cartwheel and it almost feels like the show acknowledges the idea without actually showing what made her special.

Overall, I would rate the series a 5/10. The production quality and visuals were impressive, but many of the character choices and story changes missed the core reasons these characters and moments worked in the original.

Sometimes i really wonder if these companies listen to their fans or just do what they "think" is smart

Short disclaimer: I mean no hate towards anyone mentioned in this. It’s merely an observation and my personal criticism, and it doesn’t make it objectively true. I’m just voicing my thoughts, especially now that we’re in the middle of 2026, and reflecting on where my expectations for the group were versus where they are now.

So sometime last year, when "Gnarly" exploded and "Gabriela" followed after, I can remember vividly that during the hype around "Gabriela," many fans really loved the concept of them exploring each member’s roots and incorporating that into their songs. We were even thinking that maybe the next few singles might go in a Bollywood-inspired direction and explore more of those individual influences.

Even though "Gnarly" was massive, fans also voiced their opinions and love for "Gabriela" and hoped that future sounds would lean more into that direction. Coming into 2026, I personally had high hopes for the girls. Although "Internet Girl" wasn’t that much of a hit, I personally felt like they were leaning into each girl’s individual style more. The song really fit Meghan, and to top it off, she had a more prominent role in the song both vocally and in terms of presence. It’s a shame it didn’t chart higher because I genuinely thought it was a nice song.

The companies didn’t really listen to what fans were expecting and instead kept chasing the “lightning in a bottle” moment that was "Gnarly." They pushed their music style so heavily in that direction that it started sounding like what people call “skibidi music,” and that’s where I personally have an issue.

If "Pinky Up" was the type of music they wanted these girls to make, then what was the point of searching for “vocals that would fill arenas” during Dream Academy? Songs like "Gnarly" only happen once in a very long time. It’s similar to how "Gangnam Style" was everywhere. Some people thought the song didn’t make sense, but because it was catchy, people loved it. But it seems the label doesn’t want to understand this and has instead adopted a dance-first approach to music. Their philosophy seems to be: make any kind of music, but pair it with a TikTok-able dance, and it will trend.

In reality, both elements are equally important. The music needs to be the priority. This is why "Pinky Up" feels off, its lyrics are quite strange, and the choreography couldn’t really save it; in some cases, it even made the overall performance worse, it's very clear they wanted "pinky" to be a thing.

These companies have become so obsessed with creating songs that trend on TikTok that they’re slowly losing the identity of the girls and the group. It’s also becoming quite evident in how they treat their members.

Daniella is basically positioned as the center and is given the “special parts” in almost every song, and at times it’s starting to feel like Pussycat Dolls 2.0. It’s gotten to the point where some people even forget that Lara, Sophia, and especially Yoonchae are also part of the group.I liked “ICONIC BY MISTAKE,” but because the companies are chasing a TikTok sound, they end up throwing away elements that actually make a song stand out.

Toward the end of the song, during the climax, we could have had Sophia or Lara doing ad-libs or belts, just like in “Gabriela.” Instead, the song feels compressed, likely so it can be easily adapted for TikTok audio. How I would describe it is that they aren’t making music for the fans, but rather for the general public. And its quite dissapointing, if you lose your core fanbase, the group can end up feeling misplaced.

I think I saw a recent interview where a singer said it sounds like what “KATSEYE” would sing, well known singers do weird songs once in a while and stretgically but once it becomes your identity you start to look cheap.

People need to stop labelling/ insulting straight men that cheat/ break up with them as gay

I don’t know why it’s becoming a trend where, when a man cheats and there is no evidence he cheated with another man or that he isn’t interested in his girlfriend, people instantly say he is “gay,” or tell him “happy Pride Month,” or even go as far as calling him a “ponk” or “DL.”

In this TikTok, the man was clearly not interested in the baby or what the girlfriend was doing, but instead of addressing the actual issue, most of the comments were labeling him as gay and using LGBTQ+ identity as an insult.

I find this very damaging because not only are people using it to associate being LGBTQ+ with something negative, but it is also being used as an insult even when the person has not cheated or done anything “gay” in the first place. it’s like a straight man did something wrong and instead of addressing the issue, the lgbt community is being dragged into that mess.

Is Manon in iconic by mistake? listen to this part

I might be reaching here, but the part after Daniella sings, where the police officers are talking to themselves, kind of sounds like Manon. The verse is long enough that it feels like it was meant for a member to perform and be shot separately. I might be overthinking it, but it really sounded like Manon. Could it be that she recorded her verse, but since she wasn’t in the video or shoot, her audio was still used while the visuals were edited to show the police officers instead? then after that part it goes straight to lara

Thoughts on Screen Time Distribution in Iconic by Mistake

Alright, I’m not one to conspire or stir controversy, and I love Iconic by Mistake to the T, but in most scenes I can’t help but feel like Daniella was shown the most and very prominently, sort of like she is the leader?. I felt the other members didn’t get that much screen time, even during their dance segments; she was mostly centered. I don’t know if it’s the execs pushing her to be more of the new visual since Manon is on hiatus, and I’ve tried to keep my mind off it, but it’s very glaring at this point. It’s not necessarily a bad thing; as i think the execs want to reach a wider international audience since the rest of the members are Asian and this is a group performance, they would want daniella to resonate more with the american audience. what do y'all think?

How did I never notice this about the sailor boy in Coraline?

So I came across a video that pointed out something that completely blew my mind.

The sailor boy's outfit can be seen in the tunnel, very close to the door, while Coraline is escaping. In the Other World, another sailor boy is shown reaching for an ice cream with his tongue out, almost like he's desperately reaching for comfort, the ice cream could mean the door.

What's interesting is that in Coraline's world, the ice cream is on the floor, almost serving as an Easter egg or a bit of foreshadowing that he never managed to reach it.

I don't know if this is common knowledge and I'm just late to the party, but my mind was blown when I noticed it. This movie surprises me every time I watch it.

The writers are absolute geniuses.

Why do straight men vehemently claim they don’t have a “g spot”

For context this is the situation I am referring to: https://x.com/PiersUncensored/status/2062962154483986824

Due to their brainwashed ideology that being gay is unnatural and a “sin,” some men have actually gone as far as denying the existence of their prostate, the so-called “G-spot.” It’s literally so funny because this single piece of anatomy proves, without a doubt in my mind, that being gay is completely natural and part of nature’s design.

Yet when you bring it up, some straight men outright deny its existence and claim they don’t have it, even though every male does. It’s no coincidence that it’s located only a couple of inches inside the body, in a place where a penis can conveniently reach it, and where both parties can potentially experience pleasure from it.

The Bible never acknowledges this, and I think that’s because it raises questions about many of the things written in it. Why would God put a pleasurable and easily reachable organ in the male body, one that another man can access more easily than a woman? There is no way I’m ever going to listen to someone tell me that being gay is a sin when facts are facts.

If we wanted proof that being gay is part of nature, that proof is right there. Why would their “God” give you hands if He didn’t want you to pick things up with them? Why would He give you a mouth if it wasn’t meant for eating and speaking? Everything in nature has a purpose.

And to show how perfect that design is, men don’t even feel the prostate unless it’s stimulated. The annoying part is that some of these straight men actually stimulate their spot in secret but will come out and condemn it.
