At what point do you go the Dr?

Stated feeling sick 5 days ago, LOTS of pressure in the forehead and lots of drainage, today I woke up with probably the worst sinus pain I’ve experienced ever in my cheeks and teeth on the left side only. Have done 4 rinses with the Neil med squeeze bottle and been firming hot fluids all day without much relief. I know 5 days isn’t long enough to rule out it being viral and get antibiotics but this pain/pressure is so intense. At what point do you go see the doc?

Would love any and all hacks for the trapped gas post c-section!

My last c section was a very traumatic emergency c section and the recovery was ROUGH. The trapped air had me in literal tears bc of how bad it was and it made using the bathroom and getting up + walking so much harder than it was already. I’ll be having a repeat c section with my current pregnancy and I’m so worried about the pain from the trapped gas again. Last time they gave me gas X around the clock and I’ll definitely be asking for it again. I’ve also read chewing gum right after can help. Would love to know any other tips!

How hard was going from 1-2 kids with a 4ish year age gap?

I know it’s somewhat of a subjective question but it seems like most of the people who say going from 1-2 kids was hard are the ones with very close age gaps. So I’m curious to hear what those with a 3.5-4 year gap would say?

Would love feedback about nursery inspo?

This is an AI imagine obviously but I used real images of the crib, rug, wall art, dresser and wallpaper and designed around that. What would you change? (Can’t decide if I like the wall art)

How common is it to have issues with caregivers/Nannie’s not following wake windows?

Due with baby #2 in the fall and going to start looking for a nanny in a couple months. One of my biggest priorities is someone who understands the importance of following wake windows and the need to sometimes push through that last 10-20 minutes of fussiness in the wake window instead of just putting baby down early for naps/sleep. With my first we had two different Nannie’s (each one for about a year, the first one moved out of state) and while we loved them both overall, neither was great with following wake windows, the main issue being if my son got fussy (which happened often towards the end of a WW) they put would him to sleep early, which always backfired with short naps, MOTN wakes or EMW. I’m curious if this is a universal experience or if I just need to be more diligent in the hiring process and being more firm when I discuss this. Any tips for how to help with this from someone who has had success?

Help me decide on baby boys nursery theme?

I’ve narrowed it down to 2 pretty different styles. Would love votes! (Also worth mentioning the rug in pic number 2 would actually be more like the rug in the first pic, if that makes any difference)

If you had an oversupply w your first pregnancy, did you also have one w subsequent pregnancies?

I’m expecting baby #2 and had an oversupply w my first. Most of what I’m reading says milk production in general increases with subsequent pregnancies. Anyone experience this to be opposite for them?

Baby #2 on the way w 3.75yr age gap, will I need a double stroller??

My son is 3 now and once baby no. 2 gets here he’ll be 4 shortly after. I’m wondering if I really will use a double stroller/should look into getting one? These days when we do walks in the neighborhood he uses his scooter or bike or likes to walk, we do use a stroller for big outings to like a theme park but those are only a couple times a year. Wondering if anyone w a similar age gap can weigh in on this?

Anyone here have a toddler that only goes to preschool/daycare part time?

My 3 year old has been going to preschool since he turned 2, initially we were doing 2x/week and then moved to 3x/week, I own my own business so 3 days a week is really all I need to get most of my work done so schedule-wise *for me* it works out great. However lately it’s started to seem like the 3 days a week for him is hard because it’s a flip flop every other day from a school day to a home day and on school days he fights every step in the morning routine to get ready and get out the door no matter how much time I give him. I’m starting to wonder if it would be better for consistency for him to go 5 days a week instead of 3? Or if most of this is developmental and is going to happen no matter what in the mornings?

If you’re struggling w 1st trimester bloat, Gas X is a game changer

I’ve been having the WORST bloat the past few weeks and it got to the point where in the evenings I could barely eat-despite being so hungry- bc it made me SO uncomfortable with the bloat. I brought it up to my OB and one of the things she suggested I try was Gas X. I tried it today and took one around 4pm when I usually notice the excessive bloat starting and it’s now 8pm and I feel so much better than I have in weeks. I was able to eat a whole meal 30 minutes ago and so far so good. Passing along bc I feel like I don’t see this talked about nearly enough in regards to bloat.

Any current “must have” baby items that didn’t exist 3 years ago?

I kept most of my stuff from when my 3 year old was a baby but I definitely have not kept up with any of the new stuff that’s come out. Anyone else on their second baby and finding new stuff that’s actually useful and wasn’t around 3 years ago??

Does anyone regret opting for a repeat c section instead of VBAC?

First pregnancy ended in emergency c section after 3 hours of pushing with eventual fetal intolerance. Basically he had a 99%ile head and no amount of pushing was going to get him out of my pelvis. It was traumatic, as anyone who’s had an emergency c section knows. The c section itself was also complicated due to how far down he was in my pelvis so the Dr had to cut slightly into the broad ligament of my uterus to get him out. I’m leaning toward repeat c section on this current pregnancy as this baby seems to be another 99%ile head and I just don’t feel like I can go through that trauma again. 2 doctors at the practice I go to said they felt ok with me doing TOLAC/VBAC and the other 2 are not comfortable with it due to the incision the original Dr made in the broad ligament.

TLDR, did anyone regret choosing the repeat c section rather than TOLAC/VBAC?

Fasting glucose has been 93-95 since finding out I’m pregnant (currently 10 week) was 84 pre pregnancy. Should I mention to OB?

My fasting glucose has always been 83-85 when I get bloodwork done. I had an appt with my PCP at 5 weeks pregnant where she ordered standard lab work. When I saw my fasting glucose was 93 I was very surprised. I was on supplemental progesterone this pregnancy and a little bit of reading told me that sometimes the additional progesterone can increase glucose numbers. I stopped the progesterone 4 days ago and purchased a glucometer and so far my morning fasting numbers are still around 93ish. I started checking my glucose 1&2 hours after carb heavy meals here and there and so far it’s always under 130. Is the fasting number worth bringing up to my OB? A lot of what I’m reading says that it should be at or under 90 whole pregnant….

Currently expecting baby number 2. With my first, I’ll spare details but the first 10 weeks of newborn life were traumatizing so this time around we’re absolutely hiring a night nanny/post partum doula to help overnight. ***I UNDERSTAND NOT EVERYONE AGREES WITH THIS SO IF THATS YOUR STANCE PLEASE KEEP SCROLLING***

For those who have utilized something like this.

  1. how many nights per week did you do it? We’re thinking 3-4 nights a week

  2. how many weeks did you end up using it for/how many weeks would you suggest? I was thinking 8 weeks

  3. what amount of hours over night each night and what time block exactly? I was thinking 6 hours a night from like 10pm-4am

Any other suggestions or tips are welcome

I’m 9+6 and I’ve noticed as the week has gone by I’ve felt a little more relief each day as far as the food aversions and evening nausea goes and less fatigue as well. My boobs still hurt like hell and I’ve noticed more constipation but why is it SO HARD not to freak out about feeling a little better?!?! I feel like I spend 45 minutes a day on here just reading stories about the same thing to make myself feel more at ease. Anyone else currently going through this?

I found out today that my OB refers all IVF pregnancies to MFM for the scans (specifically the NT and the anatomy and the a recommended echo in the 2nd trimester). Is this pretty standard or do most people see just their regular OB?

I feel like my OBs office is making this harder than it needs to be, but I’m curious if anyone else had a similar experience.

I graduated last week at 8+5

I called my OBs office after my first visit at 6+3 to let them know I was pregnant via IVF and would be discharged from them in 2 weeks and needed to set up my first appt at the OBs office. They told me they can’t set up an appt until they receive medical records from my ivf clinic, understandable. Spoke w IVF clinic and they said they’d send everything over the day of my graduation visit and couldn’t do anything sooner bc my OB would want the information from my visit on 8+5 🙄….okay. This was this past Friday btw.

I called my OBs office again yesterday (Monday) to check to make sure they got the records they needed. They said they’d call me back if they hadn’t and that my OB needed to “review” them before they could set me up w an appt. 🙄

My RE called me this morning just to check in on me since she wasn’t in the office the day of my final appt last week and when I told her the OB hadn’t set up an appt yet she seemed broth surprised and alarmed, I guess she expected that I would already have an appt in place.

My OBs office is making this so difficult and it’s giving me anxiety not having an appt set up yet. I was assuming other OB offices must be like this also until my dr was clearly surprised by what I told her.

The bloat and fatigue is SO REAL and while I know that’s normal I can’t help but wonder if it’s amplified at all bc of the PIO and if I’ll notice any difference when I stop?
