Anyone else super sick right now?

My wife tested positive for influenza A last week. It started with a sore throat, and she's still dealing with a lingering cough.

Now I've been sick for the past five days with a fever, a completely stuffed-up nose, and coughing up a ton of mucus.

On top of that, several people at my office have been sick for days too, so it definitely feels like something is making the rounds.

Anyone else dealing with this right now, or with something else?

Anyone else sick right now?

Last week, my son and I came down with the flu. It hit us pretty hard: coughing, congestion, headaches, body aches, a sore throat, and a fever. This morning my partner woke up congested too, so it looks like they finally caught it as well.

On top of that, a lot of my coworkers have been getting sick lately.

Has anyone else been sick recently?

Stomach bug going around

I woke up yesterday throwing up after the rest of my family had been dealing with the same thing this week. Now it's coming out the other end too. It sucks.

Is anyone else sick?

I got a terrible stomach virus last week after it went through 4 family members at different times.

Several other unrelated people also had it last week. This virus is particularly nasty and hits out of nowhere. Primary symptoms lasted about 24 hours but I felt bad for about 3 days. Coming out both ends, I couldn't keep anything down. It sucks.

Can summer please start already?

My oldest son was sick for several weeks in June with strep throat and the flu, and I caught everything too.

Now my whole family has a stomach bug, and we're supposed to leave for vacation in a couple of days. It's summer! You're not supposed to get sick in the summer!

Anyone else still recovering from the flu?

I've been dealing with a productive cough, a runny nose, and a lot of fatigue for about a week. It came on really suddenly: one night I just had a slightly scratchy throat, and by the next day I had a high fever, severe congestion, and a brutal cough. I've missed almost five days of work, spending three of them pretty much stuck in bed, and I still can't seem to shake it. My COVID test was negative.

Severam people I know have come down with the exact same thing.

Has anyone else had this flu? How long did it take you to fully recover?

AITAH for refusing to visit friends because their child had the flu?

A while back, my family came down with a stomach bug after attending a get-together where the hosts only told us, after we had already arrived, that their whole family had been sick earlier that week.

This time, before we were due to visit some friends, they told us one of their kids had just come down with the flu. I said I'd rather reschedule until everyone was fully recovered because I didn't want to risk someone else in the house already incubating the virus without showing symptoms yet.

They were upset that we had to postpone.

Stomach bug going around

I got a terrible stomach virus last week after it went through 4 family members at different times. Not related to food but rather a gastrointestinal virus that seems to be highly contagious (like norovirus). Heard anecdotally that several other unrelated people also had it last week. This virus is particularly nasty and hits out of nowhere. Primary symptoms lasted about 24 hours but I felt bad for about 3 days.

Always sick since becoming a teacher

I'm on my first teaching placement and I've been in bed for several days with a fever, a cough, and, well, everything you can imagine.

And now I'm wondering if this is what my future will be like. I don't remember exactly how many times my teachers got sick at school, I just know that many teachers at my placement school (a primary school) are sick right now.

What do experienced and veteran teachers think? Do you also catch whatever the students have?

How long does stomach bugs last?

My husband said his stomach hurt on Wednesday night and ran to the bathroom. Then he vomited several times. He was in the bathroom until about 6 a.m., and woke up with severe cramps and went back to the bathroom a lot.

I woke up this morning running to the bathroom, and I haven't left it in hours.

How long has a stomach bug been lasting for people? Tell me about your experiences.

My roommate and I have been feeling awful since we came back.

He got sick two days ago and I woke up like this yesterday. I was vomiting all night and I've had loose stools ever since.

Anyone else with something like this?

This week I caught a brutal stomach bug, hours of vomiting, then you think it’s over… and suddenly you’re running to the bathroom for round two from the other end.

It completely wiped me out for a couple of days. And my husband woke up today and has started his turn.
