Our game reached 20,000+ wishlists in its first month - Village51

Hi everyone!

We launched the Steam page for Village51 just over a month ago, and today we reached 20,668 net wishlists.

We're incredibly grateful for the response. We knew the concept resonated with people, but we didn't expect the game to gain this much traction so quickly.

Here are the numbers so far:

- 21,042 wishlist additions

- 374 wishlist deletions

- 20,668 current outstanding wishlists

- Steam page live since June 4

As the graph shows, the first days generated the biggest spike, followed by a couple of smaller waves and then a more stable daily growth. That seems to be the typical pattern once the initial excitement settles.

Most of our traffic came from:

- Reddit

- Steam's organic discovery

- Content creators and social media

Our next milestones are:

- Launching our first public playtest

- Releasing the demo

- Participating in Steam Next Fest

- Continuing to share development updates with the community

We're curious to hear from other developers: What helped keep your wishlist growth going after the initial launch spike?

Any lessons or strategies you'd be willing to share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks to you all!

It's been less than a month since we released the Village 51 Steam page, and we already have 17K wishlists, so the team wanted to celebrate by posting some gameplay.

Village 51 reached nearly 12,000 wishlists in just 10 days. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

We wanted to share a small milestone and, more importantly, say thank you.

On June 4th, we launched the Steam page for Village 51. As of today, we've reached 11,815 wishlists, which honestly exceeded our expectations for such an early stage.

On social media, the response has also been incredible:

Over 324,000 views on Instagram

More than 80,000 views on Facebook

Thousands of comments, shares, and messages from players interested in the game

A huge part of that support has come from the American gaming community. The passion, feedback, and willingness to give indie developers a chance is one of the reasons why the gaming industry continues to thrive. Seeing so many players from the U.S. discover Village 51 and share it with friends has been genuinely motivating for our team.

We're still early in development, and there's a lot of work ahead of us, but moments like this remind us why we're building this game in the first place.

If you've already wishlisted Village 51, thank you for helping us get this far.

If you're just hearing about the game, we'd love for you to check it out and consider adding it to your wishlist. Every wishlist helps more than most people realize.

We're excited to share more updates, gameplay, and behind-the-scenes development progress soon.

Thank you for believing in indie games and for supporting projects like ours.

See you in Village 51.

We spent years building a 1950s rural Utah farming sim where you farm by day and survive something else at night. Our Kickstarter just went live.

Hey r/CoOpGaming!

We're a small indie team and today we launched the Kickstarter for Village 51.

Village 51 is a co-op farming and mystery game set in rural Utah in 1953. Together, players can build and expand their farm, manage resources, raise livestock, explore the valley, and uncover the strange events happening after dark.

We've put a lot of focus on making progression feel rewarding in co-op, where players can divide tasks, work together on larger projects, and explore different parts of the world as a team.

We just released our trailer and would genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

When it comes to co-op games, what keeps you and your friends playing for dozens of hours?

Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

Hey r/BaseBuildingGames!

We're a small indie team, and today is a big day for us, we just launched the Kickstarter for Village 51.

Village 51 is a co-op farming and base-building game set in rural Utah in 1953. Players build and expand their farm, manage resources, raise livestock, and gradually develop their settlement while uncovering a mystery hidden beneath the valley.

While the days are focused on farming, building, and progression, the nights bring unexpected dangers and strange events.

We just released our trailer and would genuinely love to hear your honest feedback, especially regarding the building and progression systems. What are some features you look for in a great base-building game?

We’re making Village51, a co-op farm defense RPG

Village51 is a co-op farm defense RPG where you build your farm during the day, gather resources, explore, upgrade your character, and prepare your base.

If farming, base building, co-op survival, exploration, FPS combat, and aliens sound like your thing, we’d really appreciate you checking it out.

Tomorrow we are making public our kickstarter!
