Do you think it is a bad take to say that DMC1 and DMC3s DMD modes are unfair?

This is ONLY about DMD mode as that changes everything.

I have beaten 1 on DMD itemless and it was just to finish it itemless as I played the game to death,so it felt like kind of an obligation, and running through 3 right now. And It does feel unfair to me.

I always felt atleast in 1s case, with how much damage the bosses do on DMD, that camera issues should not be a thing as you die in 3 hits. Also stuff like Mundus is just universally considered bs, but I am wondering what people's thoughts are overall

is ninja gaiden sigma just a grindfest on very hard and above? It just feels like you are constantly grinding for items to off set the cheapness of grabs and camera issues

It just feels like I am just grinding out (killing enemies to clear rooms in general but with UT etc) just to get enough items to make it through.

It isn't really all that hard, if you just grind and max out your items

Lol,wut? the 2nd Boss in Ninja Gaiden Sigam falls off the horse and starts fighting you? Is this something random that happens?

I just started a new game on Ninja gaiden Sigma after my Hard playthrough, which showed some really really really cool enemy types.

I started a new game and this dude falls off and starts running around, is this a luck thing? I don't think he has ever done this before

I beat SMB3 and I am wondering if other Mario games are like that where it is more about levels rather than collecting. I beat 3D world and it required too many stars to beat. I don't mind collecting some, but 170 was too much. What games are more about beating the levels than lookin for hidden stuff

I am curious

Beat Mario 3 for the first time in my life. Did it without save states. It is now in my top 10 favourite games of all time.

Now I did save all my 5 P wings and 2 clouds til I got to World 8, and i dont hope that illegitizes my playthrough somehow haha.

It is a frustrating game as f. but i will say that it is not the type of frustration that makes you want to quit because it is super fun, but frustrating nonetheless.

It is the type of game I feel the player want to get better and better at. This is not my last playthough, i see myself playing this one A LOT.

Is it just me, or does Mario 3 feel VERY centered around item allocation?

I have played other Marios , but I feel like Mario 3 is very much about allocating items. (I have not beaten the game yet, I'm on World 8).

But it can take a stage that is a 9/10 difficulty down to 4/10 just based on if you chose the right power up.

I don't feel this in pretty much any other mario game

One thing surprisng about this community is that people funnily enough agrees that the games are amazing, they are bullshit in terms of difficulty, and that it is your job to outbullshit this bullshit.

I don't really see this in other game communtiies

Does it feel to anyone else that this is the genre that takes the most skill outside of maybe fighting games?

It just feels like it is one of those genres that you play repeatedly. When you see DMC combos videos , you can see the effort that person put in.

I just played RE9 and Pragmata and i liked those games, Pragmata was 8/10 to me (fell off at the bit at the end. The hacking at the final area ran its course I feel) and RE9 was a 7/10.

It just feels like the skill expression is not there in other genres. I will say that games like Doom Eternal or some Souls games do have this though but those are selective games. I also started playing Mario 3 and that feels like a game that has this skill expression too,not to the same extent, but you can see the effort the player put in.

Anyone else feels this way.

Does Ninja Gaiden 2 Black nose dive in quality around the last 3 or so missions?

Having beaten Mentor, when I get to Chapter 15, I really want the game to be over most of the time.

I feel like the last 3 missions on this game is just not that good.

I think even the DOA girls misisons were good ,but there is something about the last 3 missions that nose dive.

I do know the biggest nose dive in quality for mission 17 is the dragged out boss fight that takes forever.

Is Ninja Gaiden 2 Black supposed to be played with items or not? Currently playing on Mentor

I have beaten warrior without items before so I tried this on Mentor and i just got annoyed at having to redo stuff, yes I made steady progress and I was not really walled. But I just got annoyed by replaying stuff due to dying to a grab or something. I started using items, and I have blown through most of the game.

The only 3 hard parts is the Armadillo, the boss at the top of the clock tower and the stairway of death. But outside of this, it is easy as hell.

So are the items intended to be used,or not? Because most of my items usage is just to mitigate the damage from an off screen grab or an enemy hyperarmoring through my attack strings or a boss

Is it weird, this is the one genre of game, where I absouletly hate using healing items?

You'd think that in a video game, you woudln't hate using healing items. But in this genre, it genuinely makes me hate using healing items and I don't know why as I don't have this problem with any other genre.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2's bosses work differently than Black 2's bosses? On Sigma 2,they dont do the random blocks?

I played Sigma 2 and on that game, the bosses dont have the random punishment windows. playing 2 Black, Genshin on Mentor can attack or iframe or dowhatever he wants.

on Mentor on Sigma 2, it seems like he actually takes hits after his combo and he has to hold the damage.

So is Sigma 2 the superior version?
