How did you view the England national team between 2003 and 2017?

I remember when I was very young during the 2002 World Cup, when David Beckham was captain, and the excitement surrounding England was absolutely huge. Even at that age, I remember how much of a big deal it felt whenever England played with family and friends with me wearing my England Jersey.

But looking back at the following 15 years, particularly the Rooney era, I always felt increasingly underwhelmed by the national team. Despite having some fantastic individual players, England just never seemed to live up to expectations. By the 2014 World Cup, when we finished bottom of our group, it felt like much of the excitement and enthusiasm had disappeared.

Personally, that whole period put me off following England, and even interest in football in general from the mid 2000’s.

Since the 2018 world cup though I’ve found myself genuinely excited about watching England again, and it’s even rekindled my interest in the Premier League. I’ve followed the national team closely ever since and actually look forward to international tournaments now.

I’m trying to work out why that 2003–2017 period felt so underwhelming compared with both my memories of 2002 and the years since 2018.

It’s kind of strange explaining emotional neglect. People can understand a parent who’s abusive and/or absent, but one that doesn’t care at all is very difficult to explain to others.

What year of release do you think would have been best for Classic WoW to have launched?

Honestly, I wish Blizzard had considered this idea earlier and released Classic much sooner, maybe around 2012/2013 when Cata was ending and MoP was coming out. It would have been a great time for both old players and new players to start fresh, to try out the older parts of the game they missed, and maybe the player count would have stayed healthier instead of subs slowly dropping off.

Obviously, who knows. I had a lot more free time back then too which would have been perfect for me instead of going out spending money on partying heh. When Classic came out in 2019, I barely played beyond the launch month due to deep adult responsibilities work-wise until Covid gave me more time to get back into it. I just feel like Classic might have had a more stable long-term player base if it had launched earlier.

Since Grok got the censored update last week, combine images with Grok is now working?

I remember back when Grok was in uncensored mode, despite it making any uncensored image by single images, the combine image option would just not work even with the slightest bit of uncensored implied prompts.

Now however it just seems to be working? Not completely uncensored, just simple things such as “have this man copy the same hairstyle as the other man in the reference image”. Before this would not be allowed, but now it seems there is more leeway? Anyone know why that’s changed?

What are some oddly specific Discord VC or raid habits that irrationally grinds your gears?

Pretty much what are small harmless things people do in Discord or during TBC raids that annoy you or make you cringe?

For some reason (and I am not sure why) when someone hot-mics themselves mid-raid (even during breaks) and they start talking to their IRL pet in a baby voice for 20–30 seconds mid-raid, I just cringe so hard to the point I have to mute the person. I don’t even know why, since I love pets myself lol
