Fast way to farm Salamandra Brooches in Chapter II quest Wanted.

Hey everyone,

I got stuck on the Chapter II quest Wanted needing 3 Salamandra Brooches (like many players who accidentally sold them earlier or missed looting them).

Most guides and old threads suggest wandering around the Non-Human district at night hoping for random assassin spawns. However, I found a spot that is faster to farm and reset:

  1. Enter Vivaldi’s house in the Temple Quarter.
  2. Meditate until midnight (00:00).
  3. Step outside, turn right, and walk into the dead-end alley.
  4. An Assassin and a Fleder will always spawn right there. Kill the assassin and loot the brooch.
  5. If he doesn't drop one, just turn around, head back inside Vivaldi's house (literally a few second walk), meditate until midnight again, and repeat.

Because the fireplace/bed is right next to the spawn point, you can cycle attempts in seconds instead of running all over the district at night.

Hope this saves someone the headache!

How to pick and choose specific items/fixes from the Sims 2 Legacy Collection Fixer?

Hi everyone!

I have The Sims 2 Legacy on Steam and wanted to install the Legacy Collection Fixer. From what I understand by looking at the script, the tool basically just copies and pastes the appropriate files into place (something that can also be done manually).

Before finding this tool, I had already fixed the IKEA pack and some music tracks myself using my old Ultimate Collection backup. However, I learned that this fixer includes some extra items (like clothes and hair) and overall tweaks that I really like.

The problem is, I don't want all of them in my game, especially the cars.

I imagine these extra items are located in an "extras" folder, but there are several .package files inside without clear descriptions of what each one does.

Does anyone know what each file contains so I can pick and choose what to install? Or does anyone have a breakdown of these extra packages?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Looking for a mod or tips to track MQ progress naturally (without constantly checking UESP)

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get back into Daggerfall Unity. I really enjoyed playing it last time, but I struggled a bit to keep track of the Main Quest and ended up taking a break.

The last major thing I remember doing was handling a quest for Mannimarco regarding an agreement with Princess Morgiah. After that, I got a bit lost about where to go or who to wait for.

I know the Main Quest is non-linear with multiple branches, but I constantly found myself alt-tabbing to UESP just to figure out my options or if I was simply supposed to wait for a letter.

Is there a mod or a specific in-game feature/setting that helps streamline this or make quest progression clearer? Ideally, I'm looking for a way to track my next potential steps naturally in-game (even if the next step is just "wait X days for a letter"), somewhat closer to how Morrowind or later TES games handle quest awareness.

I really loved the game and want to give it another proper go. Any recommendations for mods, quest trackers, or general tips on how to navigate the Main Quest smoothly without relying on external wikis?

Thanks!

LOTRO Launcher stuck at 88%

Hey everyone,

My LOTRO launcher is completely stuck at 88% on the "Patch dat files" stage, and I’m out of ideas on how to fix it.

Here is everything I've already tried:

  • Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times
  • Ran the launcher as Administrator
  • Manually deleted The Lord of the Rings Online folder
  • Verified integrity of game files on Steam
  • Changed DNS settings to Google (8.8.8.8) + flushed DNS via CMD

Despite all of this, the update process freezes at 88% every single time.

Has anyone run into this exact issue before and found a solution that works? Any help or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I don't know if any of the steps above helped, but I left it downloading overnight and when I checked this morning, it was finished. Simply waiting did the trick.
