What is the scope of data engineering.
I’m trying to understand how promising this field is as a career in Pakistan. How does it compare with frontend and backend development in terms of salary, demand, and long-term growth?
I’ve heard that there’s a shortage of skilled talent in this area, with opportunities at larger companies, and that these roles can pay as well as or even more than backend positions. I’m curious about how strong the remote opportunities are.
For someone looking to enter this field, what tech stack and core skills should they focus on? Are there any certifications that are actually worth pursuing? Thanks!
I think I am depressed to the point it's scary - want to leave Pakistan. Hear me out.
I'll keep the post to the gist, graduated in 2025 from FAST LHR in Computer Science and make mashallah good money. It's as good as it gets in Pakistan for a fresh grad else there are just few anomlies in terms of compensation. But I feel severely depressed and sad, I have always wanted to leave Pakistan but don't have the funds and not able to get scholarships in US. Admissions are competitive this cycle. I am only considering US. Despite on paper doing well I am extremely depressed - no friends, family financial issues and honestly don't like going out or hanging out with anyone. I hate the govt and its taxation system and how Pakistani society is structured. Sometimes I just want to take my life but I don't want to go to the US cause of ongoing Trump's policies. Please suggest what to do; how to console myself. I JUST CANT ANYMORE.
Feeling anxious - Layoff news
Recently, I have heard a lot of layoff news - here on reddit and even from friends in my circle as well. I am just really worried what would happen or what is the future of software engineering. It used to be stable and now I feel worried. My company is pretty good and everything is going okay but deep down I keep thinking is it good enough or something bad might happen. I watch shows and there that guy was laid off. Idk wheter it's anxiety or something might happen. I might be feeding to my delusions but I feel stressed.
What are your thoughts?

About to get married - need advice
I don't wanna be a douche writing this post. Therefore, jumping striaght to point - about to get married and I have never been in a relationship. We have talked for 9 months and been engaged for 6 through an arranged marriaged process. While we enjoy talking to each other and honestly I love her. I have been wondering what if things won't be all butterflies and stuff so what should I do after marriage. How to approach things, respect her boundaries or help her be comfortable or approach intimacy. My soon to be wife is a doctor and I am a software engineer. So we both are busy in a way but have almost a month's PTO to get to know each other and build a bond before getting to work.
I would love some advice from married folks who can tell about their experiences what made them progress and transiston into a healthy couple.
Do I look Fat?
This is not a rage bait but my mom keeps saying that I look tubby. Sometimes when I eat up my belly is out yeah but I don't think I am fat. Anyways, I wanna gain muscle and have abs and be generally more tough looking idk. Do you guys have any advice or solid plan that you follow to reduce belly fat and build abs and muscles. Thanks!
Have you guys tried phera labs
Their perfume her loss is trending and they claim it enhances pheromones. Can you guys clarify if it's a good perfume or not. What are the notes like and how long does it last. Seems like a scam ngl.
A reflection on my journey to agnosticism
I don't know wheter to put it as the title says. I have been a devout muslim during my childhood cause of my mum and sooner and later I have just found my own relationship with Islam. Living in a society which has heavily governed the life of people through religion, it is painful to follow it sometimes maybe for my own freedom or just the way I find peace. For most people this path is about resistance or seclusions. However, I have found peace in this grey line where I feel more happy, secure and sometimes haywired as I am unsure of my creator ( if he exists ) .
I want to know about your experience how did it feel like being it, finally slowly accepting yourself. I am not too liberal neither conservative, therefore neveer felt the need to resound my believes in front of other folks.
How much is dr Haroon Nabi's waiting time
How much does he charge for skin checkup and dermatology. I have sever skin issue on my neck and face I need to get few treatments prolly.
Oladoc mentions 2k but I don't think there is a possibility on earth that he charges that given an avg dermatologist fees is 3k for a checkup.
Also any personal POV would be appreiacted as I have heard from many people usually top skin doctors in Pakistan are snobs or don't really give you time.
Therefore, any suggestions or help would be welcomed. Thanks!
I make 200k with roughly 1 year of experience. Graduated in 2025. FAST CS grad.
I've been going through a difficult period lately- I often feel low, sometimes even depressed, and I can't quite pinpoint what's driving it. I'm a reasonably strong at programming but been off my game partly cause I heavily focused on AI instead of backend. I keep fumbling promising opportunities, either in the early rounds due to my tech stack, or in the final stages where it hurts the most. I've been focusing on landing remote roles, which feels like the right direction, but the rejections are taking a toll. You know sometimes there comes a time where you just think maybe it's too late to start something cause your friends have already pickedup that opportunity.
Part of what makes this harder is that I have a clear goal- I want to maximize my earnings, save up, and eventually leave for graduate school. When progress feels slow, I measure myself against others and come up short in my own eyes, even though my parents haven't put any pressure on me. The gap between where I am and where I want to be makes me feel like a failure, and that feeling has been hard to shake.
What should I do in this scenario. I know this feeling gets upto most people in this thread. How do you guys cope or think that there will be better things in future. Thanks!
Any advice would be appreciated.
